Re: Barry (HBO) - The Fourth and Final Season - premieres 4/16/23

Re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread

I might get Heat for the alternate ending but that movie was really scatter brained; if it chose maybe 1 or 2 of the four/five plots it would have been fine but it’s all over the place in tone.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023, D: Reed) -- S: Rudd, Majors -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

ah that’s cool, didn’t know that!

haha, fair enough! I did read that they cut a scene where Hope has a son; the child actor had it on his instagram page.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023, D: Reed) -- S: Rudd, Majors -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

I thought this was a lot of fun; you can tell they really cut a lot of stuff because there’s some threads that seem abruptly dropped, Bill Murray for example.

I really like that end battle, the...

Re: Roger Waters' Dark Side of the Moon

Yeah Animals is also my favorite of theirs, it has everything that came before and after it to really represent the band.

I really think The Final Cut is actually a great album that gets shit...

Re: What are your favorite 70's disaster movies?

Easily it would be the Swarm; I remember buying a used copy of the paperback as a kid and it was a scary premise and seeing the movie stills in the book made me want to track down the movie. No video...

Re: Peter Gabriel i/o

To be fair, his cover of Listening Wind from Talking Heads was great. That album was a great concept but he couldn’t really get execution from those he covered so it didn’t have the impact that it...

Re: Avatar: The Way of Water (Cameron, 2022) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Just saw this, yes it is worth watching in 3D IMAX and yes it is derivative of the first movie and yes it does handwave things from the first movie but Cameron knows how to continuously world build...

Re: The Sandman (Netflix) -- Based on the DC comic -- Season 1 thread -- Premieres 8/5/22

This show is amazing, it should have way more hype than it does. Obviously the diner episode was a bottle one but it ended well.

still need to finish the last episode.

Re: SNL 05/21/22 (S47E21) — H: Natasha Lyonne - MG: Japanese Breakfast (Season Finale)

I deleted my post because I see you’re being sarcastic in response to a previous post.

Re: Waterworld TV series in the works

I loved Waterworld when it came back, it was basically Namor the movie for me.

I could see them doing something where they continue on but basically retread a lot of the same plots/characters but...

Re: The Tomorrow War (2021, D: Chris McKay) S: Pratt, Strahovski, Simmons

She was pissed because in the original timeline, he was depressed about the job he lost out on, got divorced and died after a car accident.

I liked it and can totally picture how a sequel will...

Re: The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (S1E06) - Finale - “One World, One People” - 4/23/21

The problem is they introduced him to shock the viewers and it took a whole week to get the resolution of him being introduced with people telling the story of why he was great.

That shock should...

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

I don’t agree, I searched the net and there is a purported early draft by Zeik, the original story creator and while it largely follows the movie, all of the dialog I mentioned as classic Mamet are...

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

I thought Ronin was definitely in Mamet style, there are tons of dialogue that wouldn’t be used in a straight forward film like Ronin. The Grasshopper explanation, “You're great in the locker room...

Re: The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (S1E03) - “Power Broker” - 4/2/21

Pretty sure the whole creative team was forced to watch all kinds of spy films, the name is such an obvious play on Falcon and the Snowman and I totally dig it.

In line with that, I have a feeling...

Re: WandaVision (S1E06) - "All-New Halloween Spooktacular!" - 2/12/21

I think the person who had the devilish mask on behind Wanda during her conversation with Herb is key. There was extra emphasis on the fact that that character did not move or look away during the...

re: The Saint Reboot (D: Liman)

if you watch this trailer at about 1 minute, you’ll see Kilmer hanging onto a ledge, this would have been during the alternate ending palace fight.

Re: Anybody have Dragon's Lair?

It’s been a while since I played the trilogy on PS4 but it wasn’t too bad, I think you just use the dpad and a couple of buttons circle vs b on the Xbox.

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Abrams, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Yeah I just rewatched The Force Awakens since it came out and I agree that Rey should have been Luke’s daughter. I also think they should have gotten a sequence with the whole original group back...

Re: Burn Notice question (No Spoilers)

I would not recommend it, Imo this is a show that should have ended after three or four seasons, I was really into it the first season but the second season waned in how it progressed the main story....
