Re: Comic Book Cover Of The Day

I come across cover creases running down the middle all the time on '70s back issues from those bundles.

Re: Superman (2025, D: Gunn)

The reticence about Brainiac showing up in the films has always been about one thing for WB - the fear of runaway expenses when filming what is likely a pure CGI creature. That's why they've always...

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

I found The Legendary Hero is Dead! all over the place. A bumbling nobody accidentally kills the world's greatest hero and by necessity is forced into a duty he doesn't want. The supporting...

Re: What's your Unpopular Music Opinion?

I'll say outside of New Jersey that's probably a popular opinion.

Re: Crooner and sometimes actor Steve Lawrence dead at 88

First time I heard him I thought he was a Sinatra impersonator/parody. Mostly familiar with the Christmas album he did with his wife.

Re: The "comics are too expensive" thread

The decompressed storytelling also makes it a pain since there are issues where very little actually happens. I feel burnt when most of the issue is filled up with spreads told with sparse dialogue.

Re: Comic Book Cover Of The Day

Last summer I finally completed a gem mint complete run of all Superman Family issues. Some of the Neal Adams issues and #200 are very hard to find in great condition. I'd say it's easier finding...

Re: Marvel Animation’s X-Men ‘97 (Disney+) - premieres 3/20/24

This was greenlit under the Victoria Alonso regime and I don't imagine it will get any further seasons.

The toys have been showing up for dirt cheap prices at places like Ollie's and Ross for...

Re: Suicide Squad Isekai (DC original anime via Warner Bros. Japan x WIT STUDIO)

Someone at WB must love King Shark like a religion. The character is forced these days into pretty much every other DC adaptation in all mediums. Funny character, but not that funny if you catch my...

Re: The "comics are too expensive" thread

I threw up my hands when monthly issues hit $2, one of the big reasons why I stopped collecting individual issues for many years. I never had a problem with the cost of trades and hardcovers until...

Re: Dark Side of the Ring on Viceland

I couldn't believe Bagwell becoming a gigolo and then falling in love with one of his clients, lol.

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

So I've binged all three seasons available for Classroom of the Elite and not sure what to make of it. Obviously sat through them all, so it kept my interest for the most part and season two is...

Re: The Prestige Review Thread

The Prestige was great because I saw it very early on before word got around how great it was. I think some of it goes over the head of most audiences.

Re: FILM MASTERS - Blu-ray boutique label

The Crippled Masters looks all kinds of fun. Never seen it before.

Film Masters did a great job with their Swiss Conspiracy Blu-ray. Neat little eurothriller from the Seventies with John Saxon and...

Re: New releases for the week of Monday, March 11th, 2024

I have to shill for Akiba Maid War. Easily the coolest, funniest anime I saw last year. Quentin Tarantino parodying yakuza films by way of maid cafes. That's the best description I can muster for it....
