Re: Sunny or Seinfeld...who ruined more lives??

'Seinfeld's' plots were different than 'Sunny' as they were harmless and Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer got their karma at the end of the show. For example, Jerry lost Teri Hatcher simply because...

Re: The Last Blockbuster (2020) -- Documentary about the last Blockbuster video store

I agree as Blockbuster's selling point was ironically the 'Blockbuster' movies. No small store could compete with 50 copies ready to rent on a Friday night of Jurassic Park or Independence Day or...

Re: The Last Blockbuster (2020) -- Documentary about the last Blockbuster video store

I can't argue with this point. But I hope you feel this way towards Dicks Sporting Goods, Walmart, Target, Home Depot and Lowes as they killed all of those mom and pop shops across the country ....

Re: Popular Movies You Just Don’t Get

Marvel Movies. They are the final dumbing down of our movies and pretty much the reason I rarely go anymore (before the pandemic). The blockbuster was slowly getting dumbed down with the advent of...

Re: It's kind of a miracle that Back To The Future hasn't been remade or given a sequel.

Plus Zemeckis did not like the backlash of the sequels as he talked about it in one of the DVD Documentaries. He pretty much said he would never do a sequel again because everyone has their own story...

Re: It's kind of a miracle that Back To The Future hasn't been remade or given a sequel.

I'm so glad that this Trilogy ended when it should have and didn't get whored out by the studio with a reboot like the other great franchises of it's time. I also think that Michael J Fox getting...

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (Howard, 2018) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

They could have fleshed out the Han Solo origin story over 10, 20, 30 episodes instead of 2 hours where they had to check all the main points (finding Chewy, finding the Falcon, Kessel Run). Star...

Re: JFK (1991) D: Stone S: Costner

That was my problem back in 1991-92 when it was released, as alot of people from my generation (whose parents were alive during the JFK assassination) were taking the whole movie as fact. I remember...

Re: JFK (1991) D: Stone S: Costner

I’m a huge fan of Stone’s early stuff as Platoon, Wall St and Born in 4th July is the trifecta of great movies. JFK is where he sort of went off the rails (the post JFK movies all feel bloated), as I...

re: Rocky IV: Rocky vs. Drago — The Ultimate Director's Cut

While I enjoy Rocky 4, it is pure 1980's formula that appealed to the MTV teenage generation like myself at the time. If there is enough deleted footage that slows down the movie and adds more...

Re: Sexual Harassment/Assault & Abuse in Hollywood -- Discussion

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but did I see Eliza Dusku come out in support of the women who accused Whedon? I'm confused as Dusku wasn't just on Buffy, as she was Angel, and than was on Doll...

Re: Cobra Kai (now on Netflix) — Season 3 Thread — premieres 1/1/21

I look at the show as more character driven than story driven. So I wouldn't argue that it's predictable in that respect, but the character arcs are where it gets interesting. Just the fact that they...

Re: Batwoman (CW) -- Season 2 -- Premieres 1/17/21

I just think it's funny that the show got a 0.1 rating opening week, yet this thread is one of the more popular TV show threads in this forum? I wonder if the people at DVDTalk are all of that 0.1...

Re: Cobra Kai (now on Netflix) — Season 3 Thread — premieres 1/1/21

I agree as it's too popular to end (especially after Netflix bought it). I'm just saying in a perfect world I would love for the show to end next season at the tournament, as I fear it will jump the...

Re: Saved by the Bell (Peacock) -- reboot series

This ^^^^^^^^. I started watching this after Cobra Kai (so my expectations were high) and those two shows are like night and day.

Re: Cobra Kai (now on Netflix) — Season 3 Thread — premieres 1/1/21

I actually liked this season more than season 2, as the Kreese backstory was interesting. They brought back Elizabeth Shue perfectly, as I didn't want her to get back with Johnny. I hope next...

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue (S2E8) - Season Finale - 12/18/20

I watched the Luke/Mandalorian scene again and I think I realized why I didn't work for me (trust me, I know I'm in the minority). If this same type of scene happened in 2015 or 2017 when we first...

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue (S2E8) - Season Finale - 12/18/20

Pablo Hidalgo is one of the bigger D-bags at Lucasfilm as I remember him going at it with fans on Twitter during The Last Jedi. It looks like there are 2 factions at Lucasflim right now: Team George...

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue (S2E8) - Season Finale - 12/18/20

I don't think we should judge the masses because of the people at DVDTalk TV forum. I can say among the people I work with, nobody is caught up with the Mandallorian (I have been mum at work today...

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue (S2E8) - Season Finale - 12/18/20

This show was doing so well as I thought we were finally moving away from the Skywalkers and Darth Vader......and then they go to the well one more time. Trust me, I know I'm the minority here (and...

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 15: The Believer (S2E7) - 12/11/20

I agree as there shouldn't be any 'filler' shows in an 8 episode season. But we are in the minority as the majority of the fanbase eats this stuff up, which I don't say in a negative way. I think...

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 14: The Tragedy (S2E6) - 12/4/20

The fact that somebody actually typed this makes me wonder about alot of people here.

Putting that aside, great episode and great season so far!

I am THE demo of for this series as I grew up with Intellivision/Atari, and into the 90's with Nintendo/Sega and eventually Playstation. Will they mention the Commodore 64 in one of the episodes?

Re: Are the Theatres Open Where You Are? Do You Go?

I live in NJ as nothing has been open since March 14. ;) Movie Theaters, Inside Dining at Restaurants, Bars, Gyms, Sports, Concerts, all closed.
