Are the Theatres Open Where You Are? Do You Go?

Yes, but showing old classics or new straight to video garbage. I was tempted to check out The Matrix the other weekend. I have no hesitation about going once they start releasing new major features. I've been disappointed that Tenet keeps on getting pushed back.

I'm shocked that the theater here in town is planning to open back up Friday. I live in the area of Texas making national headlines for how bad the situation is here. Needless to say, I do not plan on attending.
The drive-in in the area actually has a notice on the website that it's temporarily closed because of storm damage from the recent hurricane and the county curfew.
But I'm seeing this as a movie collector's dream. I have a huge collection with plenty I haven't seen, and I'm taking full advantage of it, knocking so many off the unwatched list. If I get the hankering for the drive-in experience, I'll just use my outdoor theater. I have everything I need here at home.

I live in NJ as nothing has been open since March 14. Movie Theaters, Inside Dining at Restaurants, Bars, Gyms, Sports, Concerts, all closed.

Nope, and Nope.
Today I went to the car shop because I had to.
I go to a grocery store once or twice a month, get takeout once a week, and maybe have pizza delivered once or twice a month.
Other than that, I go to my basement/home office, game room, kitchen, bedroom, backyard, mailbox, and around the block walking the dog.
I would love to go see a good movie, in a nice theater, with yummy popcorn. But I don't see myself going to spend extended time in an enclosed space sitting on potentially contaminated seats for maybe the rest of 2020 if not longer.
I did buy tickets to a local outdoor venue that does outdoor movies at half capacity for next Friday. My wife may or may not want to go but it sounded like a neat thing.
In the BeforeTimes more than once I was the only person in the theater sometimes, at least a dozen times. With Moviepass and a local theater that had screenings at 515 or 530, I would stop on the way home from work and see a movie on many weekdays. I don't I ever did 5 days, but I know I did 3 weekdays in one week (then maybe a Saturday). At most of those early evening shows I was the only one there. The crowds they expected for "Here Comes the Boom" just never materialized.

Nope. None of the indoor theaters are open in my area.
The only theaters open are the two Drive-In Theaters 30-45 minutes away.

Well, it was nice while it lasted, watching my old favourites in practically my own private screening room, but the local theatre has now given up showing seven different older films each day, now they're just running the Sponge Bob movie on four different screens.

They were - but they closed again. I didn't go but I rarely go to the movie theater in normal times (maybe once or twice a year) and certainly wasn't going in to rewatch some older movies on the big screen.

I haven't check to be honest. Don't know about our local Harkins theaters. Got an email from AMC saying they'll gradually be reopening in our city (Phoenix). Our closest AMC had 17 screens, and the last time we went they had maybe 4 employees. They couldn't even keep the restrooms reasonably clean. How are they going to "deep clean" a 17 auditorium theater?
And who wants the guy who just "deep cleaned" an auditorium to be handling his concession stand order?
No plans to go to any theater for the foreseeable future.

I might be going to Las Vegas in October for my birthday. If theatres in So. Cal are still closed, I'll have to visit one there to see a movie or two.
