Best bang for your buck to send 1 nerd on all attacks?
Or can nerds be killed?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Hmm, I've done some random attacks using the ax button and also some using my neighbor list (appears to be separate from standard neighbor visits). I did one nerd each on some houses then five for attacking castles. As I understand it, the number you send just affects how long it will take, not your chances of victory. That said, I still don't know very much of what I'm supposed to be doing, but I guess it'll become clearer in 9-11 hours when my victories start coming through.

FG: I created a fake Facebook account. I've probably got around 500 friends because I accept all requests. Since it's a fake account, I don't care how much kludge fills the wall. Once you've got enough neighbors, you wouldn't even need to open Facebook again. I'm only in it long enough to add people who need neighbors. Takes less than a minute.
Tapped Out: Some people send as many as possible on a single attack, but I haven't seen anyone crunch the numbers. If the other person defends, you get the lesser amount and lose a bunch of nerds. You might end up with more payout from attacking more buildings instead.

So yeah, if you click the Axe in your Springfield you attack an "stranger". That's the fastest way, of course.
I will try to be a good neighbor now and try to visit my friends and attack them.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
According to TSTO Addicts, the win/lose numbers are:
Neighbor Castle: If you win 25 Elixir/10 Gold. If you lose 10/2.
Other building: 18/8 vs 5/1.
Random castle: 140/50 vs 10/2.
Other building: 70/25 vs 5/1.
Based on those numbers, sending more than 20 nerds would be a loser even if you won. Send 20 nerds against a random castle and win, you'll get 7/2.5 per nerd. Lose with those 20, you end up with 0.5/0.1 per nerd. Send 1 nerd against any castle and lose, that's 10/2 per nerd minimum.
The only thing your victim needs to do to beat you is tap on the shield before the time runs out. Sending many nerds against one target is a huge risk.

So the way I figure it, during the day you're better off spreading your nerds across as many neighbors as possible to mitigate your losses if an attack's repelled. Then at night hit buildings with enough nerds that they'll win before the other player wakes up in the morning.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Holy smokes, I just got like seven houses destroyed.
(And yes, only houses seem to be pillageable--I'm just a little slow on the uptake here.) One was on the very edge of my city so I could have missed it, but the others were probably immediate using the cherry bomb thing since I was just introduced to it myself. And they were in the middle of the city so I can't imagine I overlooked them even though I was away from the game for a bit.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
If someone is willing to spend the nerds, the time to destroy a house can be brought down to one hour. Lowest I've seen on a castle is four hours.
Whenever I have dice, I tap the random attack button until I find a castle that I can hit for an immediate 140 Elixer/50 Gold.

I'm loving this event. I've tapped more in the last 2 days than the last 2 months!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Does anyone know if houses have to be tappable to be pillaged? Like do they need to have finished their cycle and still be untapped by that town's owner?
Looks like there's still a bug. One of my lock-screen notifications is "Birthday has finished *ERROR."
My neighbor list shows that not all that many people are playing. Guess it's a good thing they have the randomizer.

Can we all agree to not "defend" attacks? The payout is better and (please enlighten me if I'm wrong) there doesn't seem to be any drawback to allowing houses be destroyed.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I was reading somewhere that someone was letting his houses be destroyed but defending his castle. I could see drawbacks if I couldn't touch my castle for hours and couldn't regenerate nerds or something. I'm fine with giving up the houses if it doesn't matter.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
The only drawback I can see is that you could run out of houses. When I woke up this morning, I only had two that hadn't been attacked, and I've seen some random towns with nothing to tap at all. Of course you can avoid the problem by building a bunch of brown houses.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
People can feel free to tap through my town (kwstub) and I won't "defend" against any attacks. I already have everything and am just playing through the quest line as I try to maximize my upgrades so there's no need for me to defend consistently in order to get coins or elixir to earn the rewards or items.
And after you visit, please let me know what you think of my town's layout. Re-designed a few things since last time and am really happy with how it looks, but am always interested in feedback.
Happy Tapping!
EDIT: In fact, if I can find some space in my town I will even throw up a bunch of extra houses I have in storage and forgo the esthetic layout to help others.
EDIT: Alright, I put up an additional 19 houses in my town (please forgive the clutter in that area as a result). That should bring my total tap-able buildings to earn elixir/gold to about 53. Have at it folks, hope it helps!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
It would work out better if all your neighbors agreed to it and only your neighbors were involved. Many of the invaders will be randoms. No way to tell them apart from your neighbors. If randoms fill your town, then your neighbors won't get much benefit.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Here's the deal I'll make with people: if you go to the very southeast corner of my White House Farm, I won't defend.
If I see any houses that are as far to that southeast corner as possible being attacked, I'll let them go. But if I see houses in my northern residential zone being attacked and/or random houses in the White House Farm being attacked, I'm going to assume it's a random invader and I'll defend them.
And FYI, my White House Farm is the far southeast corner of my Springfield, so the area I'm talking about is as far southeast in my town as it get. Go for it!
Will that work for people?
