Because the Halloween update is now live! Check your app store.
EDIT: Beat me to it.
I hope this event is more fun.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Not seeing the update in the app store yet. I just defended all my towns since there's no reason to let them sit and be destroyed later. Used up all my dice and nerds (though most of those will be wasted due to the attack time). Upgraded the kids' castle then spent my remaining elixir on castle walls and some other stuff. I don't need any of the donut items. Finishing with Homer at level 85, Marge 27, Lisa 53, and Bart 38.

Looks like all the stuff bought with elixer isn't sellable at least before the update it wasnt. So we're stuck with it.

Thanks for the adds, I didn't realize how dead my friends list was until the last event.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I've heard rumors about elixir-purchased items disappearing from inventory... uncertain if that's a glitch or if EA has a "cap" hardwired into the game that limits the # of each item you can store. For now, I'm just taking up land in the southern part of Springfield to hold my inventory.... when I get a chance I'll put one of each item into storage and see if they stay.
What I really want to do is move everything over to Krustyland... I have a ton of space over there and can certainly take a shot at building Medieval Land Fun-Time World over there if I can.

If I had none of the item in storage. I could buy one. Then I'd have to go to the menu again. Placing them was slow. If I had some in storage, I would see a chain of them. Placing them was very fast because I wasn't buying them, they were being pulled out of storage. I was never charged for the walls pulled out of storage.
I think what happened was people thought they were buying the walls that were pulled out of storage. Didn't pay attention to the fact that they weren't being charged for them. Believed that the extra walls they had "bought" were disappearing.

Love the fall trees, don't love the black-shaded border.
Hmm, that's possible but not sure. I have four castle walls in storage, but a ton of them in open spaces because I was getting too lazy to store them. I know I was getting charged, though, because I was burning elixir and didn't have any in storage to start with. I also have four recycled and cardboard walls each, and I thought I had more. On the other hand, they were 10,500 each when I started upgrading and 15,000 when I stopped. I started with around 120,000 elixir, so it's possible I spent in the neighborhood of 100K and got eight of those walls.
The fact that you have 900 in storage is a good argument.
I have about 900 castle walls in storage. I think it was a misunderstanding.

I have a bunch of extra walls and towers in storage for later expansions, but the game stopped letting me store towers after thirty.

Some time ago there was a limit in the number of items you could have. The number was really high, but some people still reached that number.
Not sure if it's related to this possible issue.

Every time I open the game, I have an urge to call my eye doctor.
If you left the walls in the open, the glitch wouldn't happen. It only pulled walls out of storage.

I also don't think I'm near that item limit, even though I have 100 fences from a time I was writing something out. I suppose I could have a few thousand hedges and newspaper dispensers that I've gotten from mystery boxes.

I believe the item limit is for stuff out in your Springfield. I don't think it includes storage.

I'm already liking the Halloween event. It's so stinkin' busy and involves so many characters, I love it. It is a little confusing and I'm sure I'll figure it all out soon enough.
Added DJLinus / jmblya to the OP. Anyone else to add or take off?

Thanks. And thanks to everyone who accepted my neighbor requests. Previously my only neighbors were four real life friends - two of which have since stopped playing - so getting those friend points was slow going.
I've been hoarding my donuts since I started playing a couple of months ago. I figured I needed more trick or treaters, so I bought the Squeaky Voiced Teen last night. Kinda disappointed that his task is a whopping 16 hours, but at least I have someone else out there collecting.

Visiting my neighbors is making the game crash for me on a regular basis. I hope this doesn't screw my chances of doing well on this event.

I got enough random items for the spooky wall but it just looks like a regular wall. Plus, by buying the wall, I use up items needed for other items i.e. Candy corn for Hugo.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
In honor of this event, I've put most of my small roaming creatures in storage.
I'm sort of confused so far. I seem to be done with quests for now, and I have nine kids collecting bags filled with random items. Those items are working toward prizes, but some of the levels are like only 10% achieved, meaning it's going to take quite a while to get anything. I'm visiting neighbors and tapping aliens and dropping off other aliens, but there seems to be a limit on how many towns I can tap in a day. Even though it will let me keep tapping, it doesn't give me pacifiers. I suppose it'll be clearer as I go along.

They always cap how much event currency you can earn from neighbors. I think it's so people with max friends don't have too much of an advantage.
I'm earning the probes at a pretty good rate and should get the mutant peacock by tomorrow. The stuff from the bags, though, will take a lot longer. I got the human-in-a-tube thing fairly quickly, but I'm only 1/10 of the way to any of the other prizes.
Just don't claim a wall as a prize until you've won everything else.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I didn't realize the prize screen was a scroller so I've only been working toward the big pumpkin.I still don't have enough items to get any of the others, though.
