Re: That Dirty Black Bag (AMC+) - S: Dominic Cooper - premieres 3/10/22

I tried, but completely lost interest halfway through the flashback episode and never went back ...

Re: House of the Dragon (S1E01) -- "The Heirs of the Dragon" -- 8/21/22

That makes sense. I'm sure it will come before the finale

Re: House of the Dragon (S1E01) -- "The Heirs of the Dragon" -- 8/21/22

Really?
I thought it was extremely straight forward. King wants son, only has daughter, so brother is heir. Brother is loose canon, causing demand for different heir. King goes against tradition and...

re: Community - #SixSeasonsAndAMovie - news, rumors, etc.

Can't say I really missed the show. It was good, then it ended. That's fine.
Seeing how the revival thing went for Arrested Development, I don't think I need a Community movie.

Re: Orphan: First Kill (2022) - prequel - S: Isabelle Fuhrman, Rossif Sutherland, Julia Stiles

Far from as great as the first one (yes, it's great), but it was still a lot of fun. Some good twists and turns and of course utterly insane

Re: What We Do in the Shadows (FX) -- based on the film -- EP: Waititi, Clement -- premieres 3/27/19

I fucking love Nandor! I know everyone loves Matt Berry, I do too, but man Kayvan Novak is killing it. The mannerisms, the accent, the intonations. He's fucking hilarious

Re: Only Murders in the Building (Hulu) - S: Short, Martin, Gomez - premieres 8/31/21

Yeah, I'm really losing interest in this season. The mystery is not compelling, and all the tertiary characters being focused aren't either.
I will of course finish, since we're so close, but there...

Re: Intimacy Coordinators on film sets? What are your thoughts?

Why not? I don't see the issue.
Sean Bean sounds dumb as hell here. It is acting you nut. It is a technical exercise. It's not real. It's not supposed to be natural. You don't need to feel anything.

Re: Resurrection (2022, D: Semans) S: Rebecca Hall, Tim Roth

I meant as far as the main point being
... the weird stuff is mostly happening in crazy lady's head ...

Which is a story and ending we've seen a million times.

Re: Resurrection (2022, D: Semans) S: Rebecca Hall, Tim Roth

It's weird as hell, and the main plot is a cliché.
But Tim Roth is fucking creepy and Hall is just amazing throughout.
I liked it.

Re: Better Call Saul (S6E011) - "Breaking Bad" - 8/1/22

That's all well and good, but the problem for me is, that these final episodes just aren't very good.

Re: Better Call Saul (S6E011) - "Breaking Bad" - 8/1/22

I don't get these final b/w episodes. They seem mostly pointless.
Will this show just end with the conclusion that Jimmy turned into an irredeemable asshole? Even if he's scheming to help someone,...

Re: The Gray Man (2022, D: Russo Bros.) S: Evans, Gosling, de Armas - Netflix

I thought this kicked ass. Yeah the plot was nothing special but the action was awesome and both Gosling and Evans clearly had a lot of fun. That was contagious.

Re: Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023, D: Goldstein/Daley) - S: Pine

Looks pretty much how a typical D&D game unfolds
Seems fun, silly and entertaining. I'll watch it.

re: Game of Thrones spinoffs discussion - News, rumors, etc.

Hell, I'm looking forward to it, despite the immense disappointment in the main show's ending and ruined legacy.

Re: The Black Phone (2022, D: Derrickson) S: Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames

Decent flick. Much better than Sinister, that's for sure, although what I hated most about that one, Derrickson almost did here too:
Ghost kid-scenes that are supposed to be scary, but really are...

Re: Resident Evil (Netflix) -- premieres 7/14/22

The idiocy of a main character really hit new highs with this show.

Re: The Terminal List (Amazon) - S: Chris Pratt, Taylor Kitsch, Constance Wu -- EP: Fuqua - Premieres 7/1

Decent show, but I'm just gonna sat it: I like Pratt but he is fucking terrible in serious roles. He seemed completely detached and bored out of his mind through all of this. Horrible casting choice.

Re: Boo, Bitch (Netflix) - S: Lana Condor - premieres 7/8/22

So here I officially became a grumpy old man. I'm not gonna fucking watch a show with that title.

Re: The Boys (Amazon) - Season 3 Thread - premieres 6/3/22

How the fuck is everyone suddenly as strong as Homelander? Even those on temp-V. Isn't he supposed to be vastly superior to pretty much anyone?

And how did Soldier Boy get captured by blasting...
