Re: Final entries in a franchise that left you satisfied?

I wonder if Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford, and George Lucas would ever consider returning to the Indiana Jones franchise to do an Indy 6 to remove the stink of Indy 5, much like Rocky VI was to...

Re: Final entries in a franchise that left you satisfied?

Return of the King is actually a very good call.

By that notion, if you can break up the SW movies into trilogies, then of course, you could say Return of the Jedi

Final entries in a franchise that left you satisfied?

I can only think of one: Back to the Future Part III

Indiana Jones 5 didn't do it.
Godfather III didn't do it.
Rise of Skywalker didn't do it.
Halloween Ends didn't do it.

Can you think of...

Re: What's the most extreme R-rated (or worse) movie that you've seen little kids attend?

Geez! I think Midsommar and Hostel would be two of the most extreme movies for an elementary school-age kid to sit through.

Re: What's the most extreme R-rated (or worse) movie that you've seen little kids attend?

Yeah, if one of those kids cried during the scene where Adam Goldberg gets a knife slowly pressed into his heart, then the mom could've shouted, "You can act like a man!"

Re: Rank the Indiana Jones movies

My preference for the Indy films runs parallel with their release dates:

Raiders
Temple of Doom
Last Crusade
Crystal Skull
Dial

What's the most extreme R-rated (or worse) movie that you've seen little kids attend?

I remember seeing a little girl with a Dora-the-Explorer backpack and her parents walking into The Exorcist 1998 re-release. I've always wondered how that movie affected her psychologically.

Do DISCOUNT MOVIE THEATERS or SECOND-RUN THEATERS still exist where you live?

As theatrical movies pop up on digital format sooner and sooner these days, I wonder if those second-run movie theaters still exist in your community?

Re: The Flash (2023, D: Muschietti) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

Do you think that Ezra Miller’s offscreen behavior turned off moviegoers from watching the film?

Re: The Flash (2023, D: Muschietti) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

Anyone who didn't grow up having Michael Keaton as their Batman doesn't give a shit about this movie.
As for the "cameos" - They were so CGI'ed and so fake-looking.

Re: The Flash (2023, D: Muschietti) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

The Flash has what has to be the most unsatisfying, underwhelming post-credits sequence ever. If you do stay after the credits, you do exit the theater feeling frustrated that you held in pee for...

What is your opinion of using the concept of a MULTIVERSE as a plot device??

Seems as if so many movies that have come out recently, from:

Everything, Everywhere All at Once
Spiderverse

to movies that are coming out soon, such as:

The Flash

are using some sort of...

Re: SNL 01/28/23 (S48E11) — H: Michael B. Jordan - MG: Lil Baby

So far, this episode with Michael B. Jordan has been pretty meh, but then that State Farm prerecorded skit came on, and that’s become some of the best work this season.

Re: 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards -- Movie Edition

No criticism for the piano player for me - It’s just the choices for music - Hill St. Blues, The Exorcist, Sex and the City. Just feels like dated choices and weird not going for the traditional...

Re: 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards -- Movie Edition

Jerrod Carmichael is very low-energy.
Jennifer Coolidge was awkward.
The piano music is weird.
The acceptance speeches are rambling.

This is a shit show so far.

Re: 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards -- Movie Edition

Wow.

In what universe does Lady Gaga and Rhianna fail to win best song?

All of the winners seem to represent every culture, race, color….

…..not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Re: SNL 12/17/22 (S48E09) — H: Austin Bulter - MG: Lizzo

Austin Butler did a really good job as host -

This is an example of an SNL episode where I came in with zero expectations and the show was better than I thought it would be.

Re: Kirstie Alley dead at 71

That’s interesting - I saw a taping on “Cheers” too! Mine was the season premiere of Season 10 where Rebecca and Sam try to conceive a baby.

I remember camping out all night outside Paramount...

re: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023, D: Mangold) S: Ford - News, rumors, etc.

I know!

Look at Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale - They did three BTTF movies and kept their word that they were done!

If the rumors are true, Harrison Ford is too old to do a mulligan and do an...

Re: Halloween Ends (Green, 2022) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

If you watch it again, the DJ screams as his tongue is severed, and he looks down too as it's being cut - It's not until Michael Myers-wannabe-be Corey smashes his face down on the table one last...

Re: Halloween Ends (Green, 2022) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

The part where the DJ gets his tongue cut off looks so fake.

He doesn't even flinch when the scissors pierce his tongue. You would think David Gordon Green would know how to direct this actor to...

Re: Halloween Ends (Green, 2022) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Agreed - That trilogy provides the best arc for Laurie Strode.
