Looking at what I can find about the Squidport update, it looks to be about 650 donuts worth of stuff, but one of the prices is almost definitely wrong since it says 1 donut.
Good thing I have over 4k donuts now...bring on Squidport!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I have 617 donuts right now, I guess i need more. The iPad glitch may sound nice but it takes a long time to accumulate donuts. Even if you are lucky enough to get donuts, a lot of them are only 30 donuts which only nets you 15 donuts.

New Level 30 update happened this morning, includes Herman's Military Antiques with Herman @ $249,000 and the Community Center with Jasper for 150 donuts.

Of course the dollar cost doesn't factor in whether you need to buy new real estate to accommodate the goodies.

Yeah buddah glitch. Takes a while sometimes, other days you get lucky. I just do it while watching TV on occasion.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I tried doing the buddah glitch a few times one day and kept getting low-value items until I screwed up and got stuck with a park bench or something.

I really want a lemon tree, so I tried doing the same shutdown process when I got my last weekly mystery box. I eventually got a mystery box from the mystery box and stuck it in my inventory. I either screwed up or the glitch doesn't work on a mystery box in inventory because I ended up with another stupid prize.

My weekly mystery box prixes thus far have included Squaky-Voice Teen, a lemon tree, and a metric butt-ton of crap.

Visiting abandoned towns is easy money but kind of depressing.

A lemon tree is my only prize of significance. Hedges, really? Getting three white picket fences last week seemed like a victory.

It also looks like they lowered the cost on at least one building. Skinner's house used to be 190k, but now it is like 135k.

I still can't get that to work for me on the phone. Too damn hard the time I tried. I ended up wasting the donuts and got a tree or something. And currently I only have 4 donuts.

Building Herman's Military Antiques now..

There's also another building, Zesty's that requires that you started the military quest which is given by Marge and Lisa to get you to build Herman's.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I haven't tried the glitch on my phone and it sounds like it's just as well.

Of course I set all my characters on eight-hour quests before the update hit.

The building prices are based on the building's level in relation to the max level of the game, so with an update the more recent buildings will drop in price

Just put Marge in storage and take her out and you'll be able to start the level 30 quests.

I highly recommend Jasper, lots of vocals and tasks that are outside; probably my best premium character.

This was the Level 30 update, not the Squidport one.

It's easy once you get the timing down. The key for me was to NOT let go of the power button early. Keep it pressed until you see what the Buddha gave you. Overall though, I probably wasted about 75-90 donuts while learning it.

Then, like DiscoStu said, it is all a matter of luck. I usually try it on the train ride home from work or while watching TV. My best was getting the 150 and then 90 donuts in a row. My worse was trying at least 100 times and getting nothing.

Though, I've never had close to 4000 like DiscoStu . I keep my working balance around 500-750.

I originally was trying to keep a balance of 1k donuts, then it grew to 2k and so on when there was nothing left to buy

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Wish donuts were transferable in that case, discostu!

I got my bank up to $500,000 so I splurged and bought the Pimento Grove, the Adult Learning Annex, and Fat Tony's Hideout all today. Just couldn't help myself!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Looks like the TSTO blog is on hiatus because the guy got bummed out by a lot of hate mail when reporting some of the level 30 quests. That sucks. As far as I know, he was just relaying what was happening in the game, not airing his personal views on gun control.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Exactly. That's too bad.

I will have very limited access to my phone for a couple of weeks so of course, I'm sure the Squidport is right around the corner. I'm going to do my best to set people on 24-hour tasks and check in once a day but that's being hopeful.
