Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I've purchased four scratchers. 9,12,6,50 were my donut totals. It make no sense to buy a dozen donuts for 1.99 since the minimum you can win from a .99 scratcher is 6. It is pretty addicting though.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Making the $100 investment is probably the best option cost-wise. I don't see anyone being that lucky with 100 scratchers. But that's assuming that you want that many donuts.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Just bought a couple golden Scratch-Rs and got 9 and 12, so better than $1.99 for 12. And hmm, I knew there was a waiting period for the $ Scratch-Rs, but apparently there isn't for the donut ones--dangerous.

To date, I've now spent $4 on Tapped Out, so making a $100 plunge would be a significant psychological blow for me.

I got 10 donuts in my end-of-the-week Mystery Box!

Been a building week for me:
Sunday - Town Hall
Monday - Edna's Apartment
Tuesday - Channel 6
Wednesday - Dr. Hibbert's Family Practice

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Nice progress! I like Channel 6 because it generates good $, but like Cletus' Garden, you have to actively set it on tasks (and they're a bit limited). Unlike the Garden, though, there's no way to tell at a glance if it's working on something or not so you have to periodically check it.

Yeah, I sometimes forget to put tasks on those two buildings.

I think I'm almost done with Skinner's mom, a lot of 12 hour tasks, and one final 24 hour task, I think.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yeah, this is unfortunate timing for me (or fortunate, depending on how you look at it) because I have been looking to get some. Looks like it runs through end of day Monday. So much for my resolve not to pay for donuts (already broken).

If you got the $100 iTunes card for $85, that BB was selling, this is a super deal.

It's already a psychological barrier for me to make an IAP. Paying more than I would for a console game would be even worse.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

There's speculation that a major Squidport addition/update might hit after the sale is over. So people will have a chance to load up on donuts before then. Or maybe they just want people to load up without the update.

Looks like the snake rocks (and stumps and logs, I assume) are now generating cash. So if you put yours in storage when Whacking Day ended, time to drag them back out.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I was just coming to post that. Pretty cool shift for them in the last update.

I think I will buy donuts but I haven't decided how many to buy. I just bought $100 worth of stuff that will be helpful for work and so it seems silly to spend $80 on donuts even if that's the best deal. I dunno...

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Paying real money for items is bad enough. Paying $100 for them is crazy.

But I guess that's how this game made 50 million bucks so far.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yeah, I want donuts and I realize I've gotten a lot of entertainment out of this game, but I don't think I can bring myself to spend that much. Right now I'm looking at the purchase of 300 for $14.99, which doesn't seem too grotesque though it might only get me one or two premium buildings/characters.

I guess Office Max has a deal right now if you buy a $50 iTunes card you get a $10 one free.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I feel dumb for not even thinking of looking for a DVDTalk talk thread on this game! I've been playing for a few weeks now. I'm still growing. I don't have too much at this point. I'm up to level 16.

If anyone wants to add me, my username is clckworang753.

I'm leaning toward the same purchase. Even if it's a better "deal," I just can't see myself spending $100.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I also want premium items, but don't want to spend money on the game. Spending $75 (or a $100) for a boatload of donuts doesn't seem reasonable because with that kind of money I can buy one or two PS3 games.

But I am tempted to take the plunge.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

The two things that worry me are 1) donuts become cheaper and cheaper as time goes on, and 2) limited-time items and characters start reappearing. I can see both happening which is why I'm a little hesitant to spend the money.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I have been playing since August or so last year, when the game was re-released, donuts never became cheaper, there are sales like this, but the prices have been the same. So, there's no precedent, but of course they can do it if they want, if people start leaving the game or something like that.

Limited items have been limited too. There are a lot of seasonal items/characters that are not available. Not sure if they will reappear when holiday/season repeats. I doubt it, they want people to buy stuff, if they repeat them, they are automatically eliminating clients.

I think I'm going for the $38 pack of donuts. 300 is the most that I've bought, I think twice in the past, and I only bought two items. I have a $10 credit in Google Play so...

I will probably wait until the last minute and may not spend anything.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I plunked down forty after selling the free $10 card I got today. It sucks the bowlarama is so expensive. I joined the game late and didn't get that one for free at Christmas. The only other limited item I really wish I had was Kang.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Kang is supposedly coming back along with Kodos. Was going to be an episode promotion with them, but the episode got bumped to next season, so you may still get a chance.
