Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Is it really going to be Whacking Day again? Hmm, I'm not sure how I feel about that. When most of us were desperate for in-game cash, the thrill of the hunt, etc., that was a lot of fun. But now most of us have already experienced it and I wonder if it would be as exciting. The prizes would have to be (mostly) new and pretty exciting to want to participate.
I'd prefer to see something new based off a classic episode. It would be neat to have The Monorail as an event storyline. Or maybe some sort of kids vandalize Springfield storyline culminating in a 24-hour task where the entire town is in a mob chasing Bart for taking the head of Jebediah Springfield.

Well, I guess there comes a time when we are not game material anymore. I mean, we veteran players. Most already spent real money, have all the land, millions in game cash, etc. For the developers is real hard to get something for us without breaking the game for the rest.
I'm OK with that and that's why my hours are going down.

Many who started after Whacking Day want it. Many veterans want it again. It's easier to redo it than to come up with something new. Most likely they will tweak it to resolve some of the complaints that people had.

If you mean in response to Family Guy, they may not have known when it was coming out. The rumors that I saw put the release at the end of the month.
I'm not sure that now would be the best time anyway. There's no telling how good or popular the Family Guy game will be. Most who are going to try it, would try it regardless. If EA is planning anything, they might want to wait until they know what's what.

What the fuck. I'm doing the level 39 Quest and when I hit Part 13 (which is sending 10 people to "Shop Til You Drop Again"), I sent everyone in my town available to do that task to do it and it did not complete. It shows "-67/10" on my taskbook. What.

Is the Family Guy game out? I see a "Quest for Stuff" game from a company called TinyCo ... is that it?
edit: Yes it is ... Freakin' Schweet!

Even though Sanjay is a pretty minor character, I thought him getting skateboarding tips from Bart was funny. I kind of wish Bart wasn't such a late character in the game because I think he gets underused in terms of storylines. Yes, Lisa is my favorite character, but it's almost like the game creators thought no, we can't have Bart and Marge until later because otherwise people will stop playing once they have all five. I think they grossly underestimated the response to the game and now most every story is a Homer and Lisa story.

Good point!
I've been thinking lately that I don't want to start over but there were several storylines at the beginning which I regret rushing through to get to more stuff or more animations, etc. I wish I'd taken the time to read the dialogue more or enjoy the story a little more. I wonder if they would ever incorporate a way for people to go back and do old storylines somehow. Maybe that would give us something fun to do in-between levels.

Oh, I know that's there. I've done that, too. Just think it would be cool to experience it again without having to restart the game. Kind of like being able to go back and replay levels in console / PC games.

It looks like you need to use Facebook for the social aspect of the FG game. Not sure if there is any other way to add friends. Also, the prices on a few of the premium items are ridiculous. One of the characters costs almost $20. I'll play for awhile and see if it gets better but right now I'm not really impressed. I've had the game freeze up a couple of times as well.

Also not a fan of the Family Guy game. Really shitty user interface, not much content or customization, and forced Facebook integration. I'll stick with Simpsons.

Thanks to bluestacks I was able to get all the old items I missed. Spent a few hours rearranging my town, and got rid of all the trash around Springfield

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
What's worse than the forced Facebook integration, is that it doesn't seem to work. I have a quest to get free clams for inviting 5 friends. I'm still at 0/5. One button gave me a message that inviting via Facebook is disabled.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Simpsons better? Yes.
I had hoped that TinyCo might undercut the pricing of EA. Put some downward pressure on them. Doesn't seem likely now.
So far the only technical problem I'm having is my inability to get neighbors, despite Facebook friends being in the game. Still too early to say how good the performance would be if my Quahog was the same size as my Springfield.
On the plus side, the next-door lady is currently dancing on the outdoor stripper pole.
