Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Coolness. You host. 7?

I'll duplicate my shield (and the Volcano/Hellfire if you want them) for you and give you some pretty impressive class mods for the soldier that I've stumbled across.

@ flip....HELL YEAH!!!! Burnout is an absolutely evergreen game in precisely the same way that Warhawk is. I would absolutely be up for a dedicated Burnout night just putzing around and doing freeburn challenges! God I love that game, and there are still tons of people playing it online at all skill levels.

Have you hit the "magic box" in Playthrough 2?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Also, flip, if you want to drop in tonight, I'll duplicate the Volcano for you. The only downside is that it has some pretty serious zoom on the scope (compared to my other volcano), so it's a bit more sensitive to input and is harder to use at close range. Of course, it makes up for that with ridiculous range and godlike power. The really scary thing about all volcanos is that they 1) almost always have the elemental effect, 2) have a blast effect, which makes them almost like a rocket launcher, and 3) they multiply the fire effect with every hit.

My Hellfire is still a nastier weapon though. It's like a long distance chainsaw...on fire.

We're playing very similar styles with our hunters. I range them out with my sniper and use SMGs up close. I have my bird perked to a pretty scary degree in terms of power and cooldown as well. I think his name is Bloodwing, but I like to call him "the win button"....or "the motherfucker".

All...I promise a better night hosting Warhawk this week. Couldn't be much worse anyway.

Any requests????

Ending a couple paragraphs of Borderlands talk with a sentence of actual Warhawk will probably be skipped over by most readers.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I would like the Ogre at some point, just to give it to my son, since he's playing the soldier too and is using some pretty marginal machine guns. In fact, let me start out hosting and you can drop it and back out. Then start a game and invite me, and I'll jump in and duplicate whatever you want.

I have hit the magic box, but I've figured out that areas are level-capped (both enemies and drops) at whatever level you are when you first get there, which was why that box was always better than New Haven in our first playthrough. I was level 45 or so when I got to New Haven, so New Haven became my weapon-farming run, since it has two red boxes and a weapon vending machine. Having a second player was the biggest boost for farming though. I literally got the new Volcano and Hellfire on my first and third runs respectively when I did New Haven with 2 players.

Grinder, check. I think that one is a new regular, joining our 4-5 other bread-and-butter maps.

Force field...hmmm...will a 1500+ shield and regenerating health do?

Also, again, keep an eye out for Marcus (mnhunterjr) and take it easy on him...Sean too as always.

They are new to this whole thing, not even having a background in other shooters to rely on, but they are digging it and plan to be full-fledged regulars.

I'm out this week, watching the bobsled qualifier runs instead.

Yep, seriously. I have tickets to see it and am planning on being right at the side of the track.

Yeah...OK...that sounds fun.

I was with Chew...picturing you riveted to your TV for bobsled...QUALIFYING bobsled at that!

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Yeah it should be good. I watched the world cup bobsled last year and they move fast. Tickets were cheap so I figured I may as well see an olympic sport live.

Also going to see the band "Jet" on Wednesday for free, as part of the medal ceremonies. Should be a good week.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

It's Tuesday. Let's hear a little smack talking, people.

I'll start. Hey, Chew -- I'm coming for you and I'm so gonna miss you with my BALLS! And then I'll probably suicide! Booyaa.

Unless you show up during the lobby where I can knife ya, I don't have any smack I can actually back up.

I thought you were playing MadWorld tonight?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Chew's probably too excited about his new Hellfire SMG to get too worked up.

I'm looking forward to a nice relaxing night of ragdoll death and carnage, a couple of patented Slider Suicide Ball Drops, a knife to the back from Chew, R2 making fun of nic, trying to figure out what to call the second nic (I'm thinking of calling him "number 2"), and flipperbaby suicide.

I'm hoping to push a jeep off a bridge or cliff tonight. I love that!

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

My ebay auction ended and my 60gb sold to a videogame store.

Given they'll likely slap a $100+ mark-up on it, I don't feel quite as bad about that whole "lifespan" thing.

We all know I'm never actually playing Mad World... no matter how much I tell myself I'm gonna.

It will never rival my king of all unplayed games -- Twilight Princess, which I got on the Wii launch day.

I'm guessing you came out quite a bit ahead in the whole deal!

I wish I'd done that. Maybe I should charge an advice fee...

Mad World was OK for the hour or so that I played it, but the novelty wears off pretty darn quick. Twilight Princess is an absolute clinic in game design, and you are a bad person for buying it and not playing it.

I'm tempted to TEAMKILL you for that one.

"Quite a bit"? Nope. But, I did come out where I was hoping:

[Sold price - ebay fees - paypal fees] > Slim purchase price.
