Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I was just updating the OP and had a read of the first page. It's funny that none of the folks on page 1 are regulars other than Chew (who was completely on the fence at the time).
Curious Chew, what did you think of Burnout Paradise and Metroid Prime 3? I'm guessing you got your money's worth in that B2G1 sale!

Outside of Warhawk, I've been mostly concentrating on the 360 lately.
In other words, both of those are in the pile and haven't been cracked open yet. Given my current backlog and typical gameplay timeframe, I should finally get to them in, oh, 2012.

Recommend you get that one out of the pile.

At least you didn't get the jeep stuck in a corner, honk like mad trying to hit the right combination to get the jeep out... only to have your gunner give up and run away. That's just so demoralizing. I've done it at least three times in a public game.

I think that was probably me.

For some reason, I picture that in my head, and it's amusing as hell!

I didn't mind your "yapping": Since I was on the other team, I knew you were coming and stood on the hill over the access road waiting for you. I just couldn't get a decent shot off in time.

Again, fun, fun, fun yesterday! I really enjoyed protecting the flag on the Badlands map by staying in the bunker with the flamethrower and just toasting the heck out of the Warhawks once they landed! The funniest kills I had yesterday were on the first map at Omega Factory - a high blind grenade toss took out chess, and there was one where I think me and another player threw grenades at the same time and they bounced off each other and killed both of us!

Oh... and I passed the Clan Leader torch to someone else last night. I don't remember who... but if whomever received it could pass it along to someone else (so they can also get the trophy) that would be appreciated.

I also learned that I suck in a jetpack...and I didn't even know you could lock on to a jetpack w/ a missile.
I learn something new every tuesday...usually the hard way.

That's why I let you and ween have all the jetpack fun last night. I just can't seem to do anything worthwhile. Maybe next time I'll get up some courage.

Jetpacks. Ugh. In public games I don't even bother trying to use them. There are too many rocket snipers waiting for you to elevate. Pretty much as soon as I take off, I get blow'd up.

When I use jetpacks online, I always get sniped by a rocket launcher...so I decided to do it to you guys.

Is there a way to break a missile lock with a jetpack???

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
IN the 2 days of experience I have had with them the strategy is to fly low so that you can drop quickly when there is someone running around with a missle. Basically you can only be locked on when you have the burners on as it is a heat seeking lock...unfortunately the burners still burn off a little after you let off the gas, so it is not an immediate thing...basically I think you need to have the burners off for a second or so before the lock is broken...so, you can free fall until the lock is broken and kick it back on before you fall to your death...or you fly low and just fall to the ground when you are targetted.

The same trick as in a Warhawk - you can "super-thrust" in one and you have great maneuverability.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
So, the big maps are annoying I thought, but I think that is primarily because we dont have enough warhawk fliers to even out the sides on that. You picked up correctly that I was getting very frustrated on the Eucadia map
. And chess, you get no sympathy from me on that frozen tundra map when you were getting sniped and binoculared...that was pure karma for all the TOW missiles which is no different then sniping with a MOAB...If only there were a setting to remove those and mines
I like the all talk for the most part right now...I think we are getting close to a point where we would want to have strategy within teams, however I think we need more people with mics though.
Chew- I couldn't tell if you could hear me or not some of the times, but next time we play I can help you get a feel for the strategy and the rules of some of the games(such as zones). It is much easier of course to do that if we can use mics.

It isn't too bad being down 2:3, as long as the third man doesn't hang back and binocular you the whole game. You won't catch me piling on when it's lopsided like that. In fact, the Badlands game that you first jumped in, I was just hovering and watching whistlersteve play 1 on 2 because he and I had gotten so far ahead.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Ahaha! That reminds me of my favorite kill of the night... supersedes even sniping the warhawk. I used the binoculars on that tundra map once to get chess when he drove the jeep up into that middle building. After he done 'ploded he said, "but there was a roof! Or was there? No there was definitely a roof!"
As ween said, pure TOW missile karma.

That was odd, because usually, if you get under cover, you're safe from the air strike...but there were two times on that map that I went inside when I heard the beam and still died.
That was just aggravating because I'd planned to go inside in just that event...and then it didn't work!

And, I would certainly appreciate any strategy tips!
I'm not a big talker in real life either.
