I'm honestly a bit disappointed to see Stick it to the Man despite it looking like a really good game. I'm not loving the trend of putting PS3 games up as the monthly PS4 freebies (Dead Nation being the other example).
Hopefully they put up something semi-epic for June or July with E3...maybe even a retail game. I know everybody is expecting Knack to be first, but I actually think either Killzone or Battlefield 4 will get the nod since they both have continuing revenue streams. Battlefield 3 was last July, and only EA knows whether that move made them money, but I'll bet it did.

Do we know the release date for Secret Ponchoes?
#2928
Secret Ponchos was planned for April, but they delayed it for "polish":

Obviously, it isn't coming in May either, since we know it's going to be a PS+ freebie when it launches, and May's has already been announced. Speaking of, here's Stick it to the Man...looks like something Double Fine might make:

Awesome discussion between Mark Cerny and Shuhei Yoshida...legitimately funny stories, including Shu getting banned twice from Miiverse, and insightful comments about Sony's past failures (ie hardware and software divisions not talking to each other):

Oddworld Inhabitants confirmed that New 'n Tasty will have cross-buy/cross-save across the PS3, PS4, and Vita. Always intrigued by cross-platform saving.

Sony has detailed its upcoming PlayStation 4 system update 1.70, which will allow you to pre-load games ahead of release and edit captured footage with the new SHAREfactory app.
You'll soon be able to download digital games that you've pre-ordered before their release, meaning that you won't have to wait to play it. As with Steam, titles automatically unlock on release day.
The new video editor app SHAREfactory, meanwhile, appears very similar to Microsoft's own Upload Studio for Xbox One. You can edit and trim gameplay clips, plus apply text, stickers and video commentary if you have a PlayStation Camera.
Unlike Upload Studio it will also allow you to import your own music to videos.
Once your video is complete, system update 1.70 will then let you export your gameplay to a USB drive for the first time.
And for those who like to capture gameplay using an external device such as an Elgato, you'll be pleased to know that 1.70 will also remove the PS4's HDCP block and let you record directly from your HDMI output.

I hear there's a chance mp3 may make an appearance.

Again, does anyone give a flying toss about this "share" crap?
Give us media server support, dammit!

I bet orders of magnitude more people care more about sharing than media server stuff. I can't in any way relate to that, though.Originally Posted by slop101

I guess I'll never understand. But then I'm old and not really much into this new wave of social media bullshit.

Does anyone else get fooled by the music in that new Samsung cellphone ad? To me it sounds very close if not exactly the same as the music you hear when you turn on the PS3. I was going to post this in the ps3 thread but I might as well post it in the obituaries as I would get likely get the same amount of response.

Surprised they haven't made something like this for the cover over the PS4's hard drive.

Finished Killzone tonight....I actually liked it and by far the best looking game I've seen. Yes...even a edge ove Infamous. The lighting alone was amazing but the textures and material objects were second to none. Gameplay to me was fine as well. I didn't have any issues with the missions, storyline or action. It seems though they could've put in at least 2-player co-op in this with the story as it panned out. I'll go ahead and trade this in at B.B to apply to either Wolfenstein or something else. I was going to hold off on Watch Dogs and get The Last of Us but now no-one knows when it's coming since the end of June has been scrubbed.

musick: If you played through Killzone very close to launch, you're right: it's not the same game. There have been a ton of patches that have helped to shore up the game's weaker stretches. FWIW, I really enjoyed the game even before those patches, although the design did start to fall apart around the seventh set of levels.

3D Blu-Ray support would be friggin nice! I know it's a dying fad, but it can't be that hard to enable it.

I got Killzone along with BF4 and Knack at the same time. Between all the games going along with getting hooked on Warframe and picking up Infamous I only did the first two levels. I just got back into staying with it probably in the last two weeks so I can trade it in. There has been numerous updates and in fact a whooping1067mb last night I got. I wouldn't mind giving the MP a shot but Wolfenstein and Watch Dogs are around the corner. Still a good game to me...and this is coming from someone who came from the 360 and played every Halo and Gears. Visually it was stunning and even the most diehard Halo fans would have been envious.

Interesting comments on the PS4 from the Daylight Devs....
http://www.craveonline.com/gaming/ar...s-daylight-dev
PS4′s Compute Has Tons of Untapped Potential, Says Daylight Dev
Speaking to WorldsFactory, Daylight developer Zombie Studios shared its experience with developing for the PS4, and what they think the future holds.
Properly utilizing Compute shader functionality can certainly add a lot of life to a game, and as developers mature with the new hardware we should expect massive gains from offloading highly parallel tasks from the CPU to the GPU.
The PS4's GPU Compute has 64 asynchronous sources. For comparison's sake, the Xbox One has four. This compute allows for incredible multitasking and non-graphics calculations such as A.I. and physics. Some developers, such as Crytek, foresee Compute as the future of console gaming.

That would be weird; a game having better A.I. in the PS4 version compared to it's X1 version, not that it'll ever happen.

It will for first party games. If there is an advantage to be had then they will find it and use it.Originally Posted by slop101

They'll almost always be the same, there haven't been any substantial improvements, and while the dedicated servers X1 has can off-load A.I. calculations for online games, that just lessens CPU work, it doesn't do anything particularly amazing.Originally Posted by slop101

But if it's just first-party games, you won't have any other versions of the same game to compare it to.
