I guess I have to sit at work all day just dreaming about you guys playing your new consoles and shunning the rest of us. I hope UPS is at my house by 5 o'clock.

PS4 + Kindle bundles coming to Amazon tonight, $599. Pretty lame of them.

Trying to sign up for PSN on my PS4. Got to enter my name and preferences and now it is stuck on a screen that says please wait. It has been on this screen for 5-10 minutes now and I can't back out or anything. Can I turn it off and back on or would that mess it up.

As an aside, the PS+ problems are ridiculous. Most people don't even have their PS4s yet and the damn thing doesn't seem to work. I have yet to be able to get to a point where I can enter my code

I was hoping to find one at my local small town Walmart this morning so I could do a "flipperoo" on ebay No luck

It is here...at work, so I have to wait until after 6 to even play it though...

Well, just ordered one from Sams because I don't like feeling left out. Should be here next week. Im such a sucker.

I picked mine up last night at Gamestop in what was a very orderly process, and I didn't get stabbed or anything.

I gave the HDMI port a good inspection and it looked fine. Setting up the wi-fi was painless and everything seems to be running well. It was interesting to see how perfect a slim PS3 looks on top of the PS4, but I'm not going to do that any time soon.

My Amazon games are still en route, but I downloaded Resogun, Contrast, Warframe, and Blacklight, and they were pretty slow to download but finished installing in standby mode after I went to bed. Never had a doubt that we'd kill PSN on the first night. The store, the thing I was most worried about, works great on PS4. It's fast and easy.

After a 16 hour day of supplying a 1000 bed hospital ship from 2000 miles away, I was too tired to play around much, and I'm unfortunately working today too...and probably tomorrow. But I did manage to accept one "real name" friend and test out some headsets. As expected, the iPhone buds didn't work ( ), but all of my other 3.5mm smartphone headsets did. The bundled earbud is even cheesier than it looks in pictures, but it seems to work well enough. The controller feels great, and my only complaint is the light, but my TV is probably lower than most. I have some electrical tape fabrication to do tonight.

You apparently can't synch your trophies offline, which is pretty much the end of the world.

I didn't get to watch the reveal show, but looking back at the negativity here is hilarious. Uncharted 4 announced...lulz. Exclusivity for Destiny beta...weak. PS1 Snake...ok, that really was stupid.

Overall, everything looks great so far, and I don't see anything wrong that a firmware update won't fix. It looks like the foundation for a pretty great console.

Was it packed in an outer Amazon box?
Was a signature required?

I'm waiting for mine. I ordered it from Amazon and it should be here this afternoon.

Meant to add above: one of the first things I did was turn off the annoying chimes and background music in the UI. Go to "sounds" and uncheck those boxes. I hate when devices default to making pointless noises.

I was skeptical about the new UI, because I like the XMB, but I like it. Sorting for friends and games should be a higher priority than MP3 for future firmware IMO.

What's the official word again on headsets working thru the controller again? I've seen two gaming sites telling how to use "wired HS" but I haven't seen anything on those USB powered? i have one of those "generic" types for 360, PS3 and PC...the Best Buy Rockfish brand. Uses USB, rear connection and another to the 360 controller. Just wondering if I should stay with the freebie with the PS4 or seriously look for another if this Rockfish won't work. Thanks.

USB headsets are supposed to work after installing the day one update.

why is it hilarious? the show was poorly produced, poorly executed, often awkward and the only 2 big bombshells (if you could call them that) were the Uncharted tease and Destiny beta announcement. Sony oversold the shit out of this as if there were all sorts of surprises, and honestly, it was quite disappointing.

Geoff Keighley oversold it, but he doesn't work for Sony.

Shuhei Yoshida said on Twitter last week that there weren't going to be any big surprises, and that's the exact opposite of what you're saying. If someone else from Sony was overhyping it, I didn't see it, anyway.

Went to play FIFA this morning and when I put the disc in nothing happened. I then tried a Blu-ray and nothing happened. I turned off the console and restarted, thankfully the Disc icon then showed up. I was awfully nervous there for a minute.

I got really tempted last night when I saw the Amazon console only in stock, but then I went and read the game reviews and saw the news on the "isolated" problems, and I'm glad I cancelled my pre-order and didn't cave in. I will get this in March when inFamous and MLB come out.

I think he agrees with this... that it was a terrible show. No good reveals at all.

i seem to recall people from Sony indicating there would be some big announcements. I guess teasing uncharted was it, but honestly, didn't we all know another one was coming? basically just confirmation.

i'm pretty sure he was being facetious about the 1st two.

I know he doesn't work for Sony, but still...
