I think it's rolling out now. Just launched the game on my iPhone and it downloaded an in-game update.

Nothing different in the game... yet.....

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Ok.. closed and restarted the game... New dialogue showed. Though it doesn't appear to be Christmas themed/related. That might still be coming down the pipeline?

Spoiler:
Lisa discussing getting a note passed to her.

Quest line is Clandestine Nerd.. Part 1 needs Lisa and Skinner free. 4 hour task. Oh, and to be level 9 and have the Elementary school built.. which should have been done a long time ago.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yeah, it's only an episode tie-in quest... Should end Monday, but it's only
Spoiler:

a four-hour task for Lisa, in tandem with a four-hour task for Skinner and then a 24-hour task for Lisa. You get a semi-tractor trailer decoration for finishing the questline.

And optionally, you can purchase a submarine decoration for 50 donuts.

And that's it.

There's still the possibly for the Christmas event app update this week, just maybe not today.

I can't load my game

So I read about the update when I was still at home, so I started the game in my nexus tablet. It updated and I freed everyone. No new quest though. Went to Krustyland, came back and nothing. Time to go to work.

I'm at the office and start the game in my iPhone. Updates fine and immediately received the new quest prompt. Great.

So I decided to put more people in 4 hours quests. Did a couple and then my game crashed. Try to restart and then crash. Closed the game from multitasking list, restarted and crash. Again and waited 10+ minutes and crash.

I will try again in an hour, and if that doesn't works, then later in the afternoon in my tablet.

And if that doesn't works...

I had the same thing happen on my Nexus 7. I decided to try rebooting the tablet. The dialog popped immediately upon starting the game. A force close on the app might have worked as well.

I also had the app crash on me today, but it came back up with no trouble.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Just read about the Squidport tile glitch. Been happily tapping away at other's tiles, but am a couple of hours away from my own tile being ready.

My episode update just came through. I thought my Acer A100 had locked up while loading the game (donut spinning.. donut spinning.. donut spinning.. ad infinitum) but I exited the game, stopped the TSTO process, then re-launched it. Almost immediately Lisa got her "secret note" and she and Skinner are off meeting now.

Pretty sneaky there EA.

With the latest update, there is a change in the Itchy & Scratchy scratch off game.

The real money $0.99 option is now in the middle where the in game $250 was before. Luckily it warns you before completing the purchase. Though the scratch off game no longer tells you how much in donuts you would have won if you had spent real money.

I did the same thing.. Thought that I was just mis-tapping.. But then I looked and sure enough, they switched places with the two options.

I had this happen during the Halloween update. Couldn't load on my iPad or from a fresh install on an Android phone.

After an in-game update, I was able to play again. I sent an e-mail to EA support when I had the problem, and although it did nothing to fix my problem faster, I did get some donuts for my trouble eventually.

I updated from an iPad 2 to an iPad Air recently, and the game looks way better. There's a ton of detail when I'm zoomed in all the way.

Yeah, I hope I receive some donuts. It seems most people receive donuts after this issue happens to them.

Hopefully I should be back by next week, since it seems it's an issue with my account/Springfield.

Yeah, I keep hitting it. Luckily, the iPad requires me to entire a password before charging me. Eventually I'll get used to the new placement.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Still waiting for Christmas.

I sure hope we'll be able to use last year's Christmas decorations. If not, they should have removed them umpteen updates ago.

Right now I still have every building in a straight line, other than a couple food carts and the sushi place.
As mentioned earlier, I did bring it up in this thread back in July and got no response. Not positive it would have worked the same way, of course.

And I was thinking that when I come back I would see 1 million tiles waiting for me.

I can't get in anymore either.

I do have about 40 tiles now that I doubt will ever use.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Frustrated with having left so many XP on the table the last few days, I just said f-- it and assigned everyone on 24-hour tasks. You all can thank me when the update rolls out today. (I'm going to be out all day anyway.)

My android app closes when I go to your town, too, Raul. Bummer!

I've added her, Joe.
