Yes. It was a mandatory change in Origins ToS. I remember reading about it last week. Should only be a one and done thing.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Started doing the Springfield Downs dog races again with the new lower cost and better odds. Hit the $200K jackpot after about 10-15 tries. I've read others did it in 2-3 tries. I just pick the 99:1 dog each time. Wondering how random it is and if I should quit while I am ahead.

Interesting.

I'm at 1.5M cash right now, so I guess I should be able to try this. Before they patch it.

I hit it on the third try. They've made it so that if you make the same bet, you are guaranteed an average win of over $1000 per 100 bets. There is no reason not to bet. The 99-1 bet will actually net you the highest average win.

Those are the numbers and odds, but I wouldn't say it is guaranteed.

Thanks for the specific instructions! I got bored waiting for tiles to build so I tried this yesterday. I bought a couple orange trees by accident but otherwise have been OK with the timing. I've rejected three more trees, a couple dumpsters, some fences, a burning bush, and a mystery box. I have yet to get something I actually wanted to keep, but I'll continue to try it. I find I have to actively think about what I'm doing, though--one of my accidental purchases was because I wasn't paying enough attention to what sequence of buttons I needed to hit. Kind of like confirm donut spend--I have to stop and really think about what I want to do in order to avoid wasting donuts on stupid things.

Just keep trying as long as you have donuts, just know that every once in a while you will get something you don't want even though you did it the correct way. I have uses for trees and burning bushes, also you can stack white fences on top of each other. Eventually you will be able to do it without thinking about it. I have also seen it is either feast or famine with donuts, last night I hit 4 times in 1/2 hour; two nights ago I did not hit at all in 40 minutes. When I hit once early on I keep on plugging away as I usually hit 2 or 3 more times.

Tried my luck with Springfield Downs... Are you using donuts to keep playing? Or just trying every 8 hours?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Tried the glitch again last night and rejected more dumpsters and burning bushes. Bought 10 picket fences by accident--those are usually one donut each so that's not even good value.

I can't figure it out either. My menu is showing one new item on the construction menu and three on the premiums, but I don't see anything I recognize as new there. Maybe it's only half there.

Finally building the final tile of Squidport phase 13--sigh.

Per TSTOTIPS,

"There’s been an update – but it’s the strangest one yet. Two new characters in a 4 July 2013 set (looks like Rex Banner and Lincoln). There are also 4 “New” buildings and/or decorations that don’t seem to be in the menus yet.

Strangely, no characters seem to be starting anything. In a special event, it’s usually Homer or Lisa’s job to kick things off, as all players have them – but they’re wandering around aimlessly in both my towns without exclamation marks over their heads.

Certainly, the update is for a short July 4 event – and perhaps it’s timed to start over the weekend, at which time, the truly “new” items will appear. I’ll tell you more as soon as I know more!"

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

4th of July stuff is active! Just bought Abe Lincoln and his cabin for 150 donuts, but I can't start any quests until my people are done with their 8hr tasks.

Flag pole is only $ item.

Rest are premium. lincoln's cabin, lisa statue of liberty, pinwheel firework and box of fireworks are those items.

You also get a new outfit for Apu.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I'll probably just do a small garden area with the new items like I did with the Whacking Day crap. Lincoln and his cabin go great next to the Fort though. We also get the detective dude somehow I think, must be during the quests.

Par for the course, get a cool outfit for Apu and the first quest is 24 hours inside.

I don't get the point of Lincoln. Unless there was a reference on a recent episode, all I remember is the animatronic version. Ill pass on this one.
