Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Started doing the Springfield Downs dog races again with the new lower cost and better odds. Hit the $200K jackpot after about 10-15 tries. I've read others did it in 2-3 tries. I just pick the 99:1 dog each time. Wondering how random it is and if I should quit while I am ahead.

Those are the numbers and odds, but I wouldn't say it is guaranteed.

Buddha trick is pretty simple.
Start game, get golden Buddha up on your screen.
Hold down power button on device and count for three seconds (One-one thousand, two-one thousand, three-one thousand) and then tap the golden Buddha.
If done correctly you should see what you got before your device prompts you to power off. If it was something stupid then power the device down, if it was donuts press cancel and collect donuts.
repeat.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Thanks for the specific instructions! I got bored waiting for tiles to build so I tried this yesterday. I bought a couple orange trees by accident but otherwise have been OK with the timing. I've rejected three more trees, a couple dumpsters, some fences, a burning bush, and a mystery box. I have yet to get something I actually wanted to keep, but I'll continue to try it. I find I have to actively think about what I'm doing, though--one of my accidental purchases was because I wasn't paying enough attention to what sequence of buttons I needed to hit. Kind of like confirm donut spend--I have to stop and really think about what I want to do in order to avoid wasting donuts on stupid things.

Tried the glitch again last night and rejected more dumpsters and burning bushes. Bought 10 picket fences by accident--those are usually one donut each so that's not even good value.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
"There’s been an update – but it’s the strangest one yet. Two new characters in a 4 July 2013 set (looks like Rex Banner and Lincoln). There are also 4 “New” buildings and/or decorations that don’t seem to be in the menus yet.
Strangely, no characters seem to be starting anything. In a special event, it’s usually Homer or Lisa’s job to kick things off, as all players have them – but they’re wandering around aimlessly in both my towns without exclamation marks over their heads.
Certainly, the update is for a short July 4 event – and perhaps it’s timed to start over the weekend, at which time, the truly “new” items will appear. I’ll tell you more as soon as I know more!"

4th of July stuff is active! Just bought Abe Lincoln and his cabin for 150 donuts, but I can't start any quests until my people are done with their 8hr tasks.

I'll probably just do a small garden area with the new items like I did with the Whacking Day crap. Lincoln and his cabin go great next to the Fort though. We also get the detective dude somehow I think, must be during the quests.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I don't get the point of Lincoln. Unless there was a reference on a recent episode, all I remember is the animatronic version. Ill pass on this one.
