Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Edit: never mind on the eggs, Todd. My wife called and after having the game running on my phone all day off to the side while I was working on other stuff, the call made the game have to update so Whacking Day is now over for me, too.
Redid a lot of my Springfield this afternoon during a little free time. Made a true "miracle mile" on the south side, developed a town square with municipal buildings now that it's time to build Town Hall and the Post Office. I set a few blocks up for future buildings and am hoping I can resist wanting to keep manipulating everything before a few more buildings pop up such as the Pimento Grove or King Toot's to go next to Moe's. Building is fun though sometimes I'm frustrated by the 4x4 basic unit and find things get off by juuust enough to not work out. That race track is a weird shape, too!

Finally the damn snakes are gone! Pretty awesome that there was a bunch of random items in the new update, wasn't expecting that. Granted, most of them are really odd and don't fit in anywhere (giant grasshopper? wtf?) but still nice to get new items, so I bought them all

Yeah, I need to rebuild my Springfield too. Basically right now it's a mixed of version 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0. The race track was an odd building up until the last couple of releases. Right now it can be grouped with more buildings, I think.

i need to install this on my wife's iPhone so i can start doing the donut trick. crap, i didn't realize that you need 2 iOS devices.
if you look at the google play store, tons of 1 star reviews now. people pissed that they were few snakes away from an upgrade and then it got yanked.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I wonder if my kid got Willy. She was a few hundred away this morning, and I think I left a bunch unshared while I was at work today.
After she got the pet snake before the one-week extension, I thought she'd get some more of the goals, but I forget how slowly snakes accumulate when one only has one snake rock and eight friends.
This was a great thread to share, though--thanks all. Yesterday's conversation about leveling up made me realize how much I've been neglecting that. All my resources went into snakes, so I was putting my characters on long indoor tasks so they'd be out of the way and I wouldn't have to deal with them very often.
I need to redo some of my town as well. Another annoying thing is how the buildings will only rotate 90 degrees in one direction. Half of my shops on Main Street are facing the back alley.

I've really enjoyed this thread, too. The camaraderie and teamwork was a lot of fun. For my part, I hope I didn't miss any of the people I said I would give eggs to this week.
I'll update the OP soon and take down the Whacking Day stuff. If there are improvements I can make to how I try to track the event or what I could post that would be more helpful there, I'm open to your feedback, thanks.

I am redoing my town right now. i'm facing everything to the left to make it more uniform, but it does suck that you can only get them 2 different directions.

Yes, please some of you rebuild your towns; I really hate some of your towns with buildings stacked up next to each other with no roads leading to any of them.
What ugly little Springfields some of you have.

You don't need two iOS devices, it's all about timing the Buddha purchase, while you have the power button pressed. I'd hold the power button in, count to 4 quick, and press the Buddha button, if it was something bad, I'd just slide to power down, if it was good, I'd hit cancel.

My kid did get Willy just a few minutes before shutdown.
I just cruised through a whole bunch of neighboring towns in like 20 seconds each--seemed so wrong.

Grfrrrrr I hate when this happens.
the first quest you have is a major quest. I tapped Martin and that started a detention quest, now all the kids and Skinner and Krabappel need to serve detention 2-3 times a each! This of course AFTER I had already tapped on all the characters involved and sent them on 24 hour quests.

When I'm tapping characters to finish their tasks, I've started hesitating a bit before starting something new, just in case something pops up, especially if it's someone who might have a part in a current quest. No way to totally predict, of course.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I keep forgetting, but I meant to come in here and let you guys know that I've had to stop playing. For some reason this game brings my phone to it's knees after I exit it. Everything runs jerkily, I can't switch pages smoothly, everything is just worse after I've loaded up the game once. For a while there I was rebooting once a day so that I didn't have to deal with it, but then I realized that was a dumb thing to be doing for a game that was already taking a lot of time to play.
You can scratch me off the OP list so people don't waste their time trying to add me.

You know what I wish this game had? A way to send all available characters for a 60 min, or 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24 hour quest. There are times I'll get a quest and one or two characters will be sent off. Then I'll usually send all other characters to do a quest of the same length. I like having them all available at the same time in case there are quests that rely on certain characters being free at the same time.
That and I wish the money and xp would auto clear instantly when then go on the screen. It makes it hard to tap things when there are dollars and xp cluttering the screen.
I got past the huge detention quest earlier this morning. One quest that I did about an hour ago made me laugh.
I'll spoiler it just in case.

You shouldn't need to tap on the $ and XP when you complete a task. Just let it sit there while you swipe to another task and it should be automatically swept up.
