Wow! I think this is the first time they release an update late in the afternoon, Pacific Time. Or at least that I remember.
I usually wait until 1 or 2 pm to send my character in long tasks. But I haven't played today.

Ok, this constant updating without adding land is getting ridiculous. I'm sick of having to delete buildings and ruin my town to make room for new stuff. Seriously considering quitting this game soon

I'm downloading Around 48mb for my update. I still need millions of dollars to finish up my post-nuke rebuild and to buy the rest of the land available to me and I haven't even bought Ziff Corp Building or Nelson's mom. I feel your pain when it comes to land in Family Guy though. I have a million dollars saved up and literally every update requires about $45K and the rest is all clams or won for free.

Tried the new release and I still can't download the updates on any Android device. I see in the reviews that a number of other people have been unable to get updates for some time. iPad downloads just fine.

Update went through on my Galaxy S5 just fine though it took a while. I have had freezing and have had to close and restart a few times when selecting road / pavement / water, though, so watch out.

On my GS3 I got the Play store update with no problem, but the game is timing out at update 10/10 during the load screen. Humbug!

No problems on ios.
I just visited only my neighbors who had the update installed and picked up 143 presents. I'll do another pass tonight and see if other people have added it.
There are some characters who have present-earning tasks who I recall had them last year as well: Homer, Lisa, Ned, Marge, etc.

I finally got the update. It took a lot of restarts. I ended up *not* tapping on the "tap to continue while updates load" button and waiting for a while, which worked.

The update took some time, in both my iPhone 5 with iOS8 and my 2012 Nexus 7 with Lollipop. But it worked fine.
I'm not visiting friends until I reach the proper event.

I just wondered, how is it possible to make presents quickly? I am only a level 25 player, and i see that only 2 characters (Homer and Lisa) can make presents. I am actually waiting for Lisa to finish a job to send her to the Toy Shop to complete her task there. I am hoping that after that the presents start generating faster as it seems Homer only makes 2 presents every 4 hours which is pathetic.

Once you build the elf cave and start doing the tunnel quests for santa the prizes start coming a lot faster. You get more elves and you unlock tasks for more characters to make them too. Right now I can have Apu and Frink(who I don't have) make them.

I'm excited for this event. Looks like a lot of fun prizes and they've really hit their stride with events lately.

Damn, when did Santa become an assignable character? Before when I tapped on him, it just said "<-----SANTA," but now he has a task that earns presents.

There was a small update this morning, so maybe this is part of it. They also fixed the animation for Ned on his snowmobile. Previously the game only had one image of him, so it looked like he was driving backwards when he moved to the upper right, or sideways for the upper left, but now they have an image of him from behind.
