Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012
I'm skipping on this "multiply, duplicate, endless, unlimited any and everything" this time around. I did it awhile in the first game and while it provides a "Wow Fator" at first, it gets old, slightly boring and changes the aspect of the game. Actually plan on spending a few "Billions" and using "Millions" of guns? I thought so the first time around but didn't even make a dent in it....the money, guns, extras. Nothing more than a Pack Rat. It actually feels good to scrap for money and open boxes let alone die once-in-a-while
The most appealing thing about Borderlands is how it scales to your player and keeps the tension up. When you have ridiculous weapons, you kind of subvert that appeal.
The last game, I farmed multiple different areas and ended up with multiple versions of the most absurd weapons in the game. My best Pestilent Defiler, Liquid Orion, and especially Hellfire SMG pretty much broke the game.

i feel like a moron. However i am so unbelievably frustrated right now with this game. I am just on one of the beginning missions and i can't figure out how to get to a damn marker. i got to where i thought it was and i am standing right on top of the marker according to the map but i don't see anything. it is the mission trying to find that colonel guy right after you get access to your vehicle. i may have to co-op with someone just to show me where to go. I am fuming out of my ears right now. i don't have alot of game time and i have wasted 45 minutes just trying to figure out where this place is.

i will have to look for this on youtube. i literally searched all over the place for that corporal reiss guy for 45 minutes and almost had a heart attack from utter frustration.
do you have a link to the video you watched??
it is not the one immediately after you access the car. That one you just ride until you get to this gate and kill a few guys. The next mission is finding this corporal reiss -- that is the one that made me want to kill myself.

The description of the mission (or the spoken voice) tells you to ramp into the camp. It was also something that they used in at least the General Knoxx DLC, if not the main game the first time.

There's no shame in using youtube. I had the quest "the name game". And when it said to use projectile I looked all through my inventory for a projectile weapon. Finally had to youtube it to find the solution.

Fair warning to everyone that cares and can be around their Xbox/PS3/PC when they drop:

Tried playing co-op for the first time tonight. Took forever to get into a game where the players were around my level and doing a real mission. I can see online play being enjoyable but my first crack at it was more annoying than fun.

I don't think I ever had fun playing with random people in the first one. It's definitely best with a buddy or three.

Gearbox Investigating Borderlands 2 Badass Tokens Glitch
Players are experiencing a glitch in Borderlands 2 that resets their Badass Token collection.
Badass Tokens are earned by completing challenges. Unfortunately, however, when the bug kicks in it leaves the challenges completed, meaniing that players can not earn their Badass Tokens back. On top of all this, upgrades purchased with the tokens are also disappearing. Sheesh.
Gearbox is aware of the issue and is currently investigating. Apparently it’s caused by corrupted save data.
"Thanks for all the reports and specific details, folks,” said Gearbox community manager Chris Faylor. “Our engineers are looking into this, and the information you've provided has proven to be a great resource while we investigate.
“At the moment, it seems to be a fairly rare issue and we'll keep you updated on when we resolve it."
Borderlands 2 is currently sitting pretty at the top of the UK charts and rightly so, we loved it. So much so that we put together a ten minute vid in which we show off no less than 100 weapons. Have a look at it below.

That would really suck to lose those upgrades.
Finally did the Roland rescue last night and found out what some of the complaints were. First, I quit right before getting to the cell, not realizing I was so far from a restart point. Second, I killed Mad Mike over the bridge and he dropped a blue and purple into the vortex thing and they dissapeared (the second time through I made sure he was nowhere near the water and he dropped a white shield instead
). Finally, I made it to the end of the damn level, was out of ammo, saw a fast travel and went back to sanctuary to reload....not paying attention to clues that you can't return to that spot. So, I guess I get to make that run again...
I've been finding cool mods for everyone but my Siren. Still haven't seen an orange yet, but the game definitely has me hooked.

I'm a week behind but damn it feels good to be back in Pandora!
Started with Maya last night (she's awesome and fits my play style perfectly) and ended the night at level 10. Not bad for a first sitting.

First playthrough complete. It took me a bit to get into the game, but once it gets going, it's hard to put down. Did the whole thing solo, and it's definitely tough. I must've died 20 times on the final mission. I played as a commando, and I'm glad I did -- I can't imagine doing it without the turret as support, though I don't know as much about the special abilities of the other classes.
Storywise, it's a vast improvement over the first game, although people who played and completed the the original will find the story much more rewarding and emotionally engaging.
Also finished every sidequest besides the two Circles of Slaughter and Terramorphous. Now I'm working on the annoying World Traveler achievement, which is proving to be a giant pain.

So far I like the first Borderlands better(I put 110 hours in that one). However I am early in BL2, but it just doesn't have me hooked like the first one did. I am quite surprised how difficult the game is this early. I have been dying all over the place. I don't shy away from difficult games -- Dark Souls is my favorite game of all time and I am good at it. I would have just liked to have been "eased in" a little bit with BL2 before getting my ass handed to me. I only played Co-op once in the first one. Maybe BL2 wants to push co-op alot more, thus the higher difficulty.
