Excellent. Steve needs some help holding down the turrets!

Oh, and apologies to Steve, I attacked him at least twice last night while we were on the same team. I swear the crosshairs lit up red both times, but when I got closer all I saw was my own teammate.

That game was just abysmal. It was a small CTF map and one of the guys on the opposing team (clearly shouldn't have been on a rookie server) dropped air mines all around our base and all over the weapons. After something like five minutes he had 25+ kills.

After being destroyed repeatedly by fair and reasonable (but goddamn frustrating) Warhawks in our game (Collection, for example - two to three opposing Warhawks in the air at any given time versus a team of landlubbers) I wasn't in the mood for a cheap bastard on the public game. So I bailed.

Yeah, that was fun.

chess: "This should be much closer than it is" while 3 Warhawks hover over our heads.

Yessir. I was trying to keep my frustrations to myself during this game.

I loved that Glacier map. I thought it was a lot of fun. And you were definitely a force. Every time I turned around chew was coming at me in a tank, usually with the flag.

I'll take ownership of that one. I'm usually pretty good about not flying if I have a bunch of flyers on my team. I think on that one, I just thought the teams looked pretty even.

So sorry...but I've gotta say, flying through that tunnel and leaving it full of cluster bomblets was one of the more fun things I got to do last night.

Sorry I had to get off earlier than usual. It's just been a tough week and I was pretty wiped...back to my usual self next week.

I guess the dynamic in that one was that we took the early lead and then just spammed Warhawks the rest of the round. I picked up on the dynamic at some point and drove around in a jeep on sort of a kamikaze mission...but I ended up close to death and near a Warhawk, so I grabbed it and jetted.

Overall, I think I just like Flag better than Collection. Just me?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Funny things overheard last night:

Z: "Are we cool from 3 games ago?"

Flip: "I was trying to go on a kamikaze mission."
friz: "Well you're dead, so I guess that worked out."
Flip: "Well yeah, but you were supposed to die too!"

I like Collection but I think one per Tuesday is probably enough. They do have a tendency to get pretty lopsided.

That sounds about right to me too...not sure why they are so much more lopsided than flag....just more to do, I guess.

CTF is certainly the game type I have the most fun with.

I agree, one Collection per night is a good number.

But, I'll be happy to never see that tiny map used for CTF again.

As bad as the small maps I picked last week were, that one was just pure torture.

My hope was that at some point you would self-moderate, but it just hasn't happened.
You're getting it all wrong. When I dropped the cluster bombs on you on the middle bridge, that was my first kill, and was just a few seconds since I joined the game. My very first run was with someone in a jeep at the same bridge seconds before which I damaged, but someone else at the bridge on foot got the kill.
At that time it was a 3-3 game. And I sure as hell didn't drop even one TOW, much less two. I know so because I played less than a minute.

Ha! By request...certainly not my idea.

That said, it had nothing on Standoff as a Collection map!

Perhaps, but it didn't look like that from my perspective. It seemed to me like you TOWed my kid on the bridge (assuming it was me probably), then I said something like "dial it back, we have a kid in the room" and about four seconds later, you hit me with a cluster bomb right by our base.

I'm absolutely certain it was 4-3, because I checked before booting you.

I could be dead wrong about other specifics, but generally, I just have less fun with somebody so skilled in the game...so yeah, you're on a very short leash when I host. I might be the only one saying this, but I sincerely don't think I'm the only one thinking it.

Nothing personal...you're just a lot better than we are.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I think Flores, youre like a savage beast in the game and you have to be kept on somewhat of a leash cause if not youll destroy us all! I actually dont mind you too much, dig ya on my team, hate you if youre not.

I dont like collection maps at all. But one is okay for a change of pace. I didnt see it, but if I had, my best moment of the night would have been Flores shooting friz2, hearing friz1 say hold back, than seeing him get hit by a cluster and hearing the insuing madness Id buy that for a dollar!

Flip, that public server was kinda shitty but I had some fun. How do you know it was a rookie server? I can never tell. It did sound like a kid was playing (or a girl). I didnt have my mic on and I can pick up stupid people through my surround speakers sometimes.

I can only tell what kind of game it is from the online game menu. They'll have [ROOKIE] at the end of the game name. Other than that, I know no way of figuring out what you've gotten yourself into.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I usually am not a fan of Collection but it seems that I don't do bad on those lately.
Got my Porcupine trophy! Thanks Chess! I activated the shield all of a sudden and don't know how you got killed on the Warhawk.

The one about are we cool about the 2 or 3 games ago was because I said something like "payback" cause I TOW'ed you after you were TOWing a lot prevously. Then you were TOWing me.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

LOL! I noticed that this morning...thought about bumping the thread myself!

I'll probably put together the maps tomorrow evening, but a few thoughts...

Back to K&N for the lobby.
I liked the 20 minute maps.
Loved the snow map...that'll be back.
A little less Collection.
Perhaps another shot at a small CTF.

Is there any chance of putting in an archipelago map with jet packs? Towards the end as it is an expansion thing.

Consider it done, Steve...assuming there is one.

Did you have a particular map/mode in mind?

How about no respawn delay. I cant remember if you had it on or not this last week and I know we had it at 0 at least once. Keeps you more engaged in the game and helps to reduce frustrations.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I had a run around in some maps with jetpacks, and the ones I think could work are "South City***" for death match and "King of the Hill***" for capture the flag. You can carry the flag while flying with a jetpack so perhaps the score limit could be increased for that one if we play it.
