Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I have mixed feelings. I hated the Packers in their heyday...mostly because I was living in the area and thought Packer fans were a bit...well...obnoxious. Next to the 49er wins, my favorite Super Bowl was the one the Pack lost to the Broncos.
But I've grown to respect the Fahv-ray a little bit.
Anyway, if you need a cheap kill or two...maybe a trophy, let me know.

Believe it or not, they just might be. F'ing cheese everywhere.
"Sporting" will be on tonight. Be nice. He liked the game, but when I talked to him today, I was getting a "but it's not CoD" vibe. He should warm up.

A discussion of ridiculous NFL fanbases, but no mention of Blitzburgh? Sixburgh? A city whose mayor renamed himself Steelerstahl (really, it's Ravenstahl) when they were playing Baltimore last year.
I try to distance myself as much as possible from Steeler goings on. So much so that I kind of enjoy not knowing anything about it so that when someone inevitably asks me if I watched the game last night, I can say, "What game?" They just don't know what to do with themselves.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Fun games tonight! Seems like we had 6-8 people from beginning to end.
Z has gotten very good. I have to make sure we're on opposite teams most of the time.
I spent an entire map on the ground, which is fun except for that one time when you lumber a tank all the way across a ginormous map only to drive into an instant death. It's not so bad in a Warhawk, because...you know...I'll be back in like four seconds. But I did capture a few flags tonight, which I never do.
Don't get discouraged Flip. You aggravate me every now and then in the air, which means you must be getting better.
You do need to switch to pro-flight though.
Sporting is a quick study, which is good. He might have to learn the hard way to not hang out in that Warhawk though. He needs to learn his ground skills first. I'll also have to see if I can get him mic'ed up for next week. I think I have a spare USB headset somewhere.
Chew seemed a little off his game tonight...must be really torn up about the game last night.
I did laugh pretty hard when you yelled "Aaron Rodgers" after I needled you with a few "Brett Farve"s. Well played, sir!
Haven't seen digi in a while...and I wonder if Ofer had trouble getting in.

Not necessarily... you can hook that hard drive up to another computer. It might not be the hard drive, rather something wrong with the system. If the hard drive hasn't failed you can transfer the file system and then restore your saves on the new PS3. I'd definitely check it out before giving up hope.

You do need to switch to pro-flight though.I really thought I had it on pro-flight last night. Well, I didn't check, but that would explain a few things. I really tried to work on some new things last night and I certainly wasn't excelling... and yeah I was getting a little frustrated because I just don't feel like I'm improving much. Except I was able to evade pretty well, if I didn't suicide into something with the maneuver anyway. I kept picking up TOWs because I was trying to work on the faster strike by accelerating the missile but all I ended up doing was overshooting my target. Maybe one of these days I'll put it all together.
Oh and sorry, Chew. I was taking out some of my Warhawk frustrations out on you when I started hoofing it later in the night. Especially on the snow map with the tank. You just kept popping up in front of me.

In the later maps, I was mostly just messing around...pooping balls on whoever I could find...usually Steve because he's ALWAYS running for or with the flag.

I'm not sure why, but I've been having a lot more fun the last month or so. I think it might be because you guys have reached a point where I don't have to hold back much at all...so I'm just playing and not worrying so much about how everybody's doing. I also really like the current mix of people...R2 and nic have been great additions.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Flip, one more thing on the TOW: for close strikes, aim the TOW like you'd aim any other weapon BEFORE YOU FIRE IT, and just accellerate it to the target WITHOUT STEERING IT.
Also, I had a particularly cool moment in the last game last night. On the Omega Factory Pipeline, I grabbed the flag and a tank and was rumbling away from the base. I figured somebody would give chase, so I turned my turret backwards, while still driving forward just in time to see a jeep come over the hill and BOOM. Then, while still driving, I turned the turret around to see nic in a Warhawk, and I made the luckiest shot on him...hitting him in a full corkscrew, at a crazy distance, while I was moving. The whole sequence of events was about 4 seconds, and I felt like a tank-god...like I was digi or something.
In fact, I hit nic so hard in his Warhawk that it yellow-lighted his PS3.

Last night when we were playing and someone was attacking me and he accidentally killed himself made me think of the "Suicidal, Suicidal..." song!
Chew! on the island outpost map, sorry again for stopping while the other guy on the jeep was attacking and getting you killed, I was trying to get him on foot but you remained on the jeep.
I hope I am not frustating anyone in here. I will try to play more defense next time we play and not capturing the flag!

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
You're fine Z. Mostly, you've just gotten good quickly (both in the air and on the ground). Are you still playing a bit on public servers? It seems like you're picking up a few public server "tendancies"...but so far, nothing beyond the pale. I'll just check the team rosters before each map like I always do.
The first "suicidal" was you killing yourself...I think. Then later, you did it when I 'ploded myself with my own TOW.
And sorry to Z and especially Flip for piling on at the end of the Tau Crater TDM. Just understand that we felt the same way the first half of that map when I was committed to staying on the ground and Sporting wasn't in yet. The score at one point was something like 30 to 9.

I barely play anymore due to work which is keeping me busy. I also have a lot of back log games that should get some playing time which isn't happening.

I'm in the same boat with backlog games, but I'm pretty committed to Warhawk on Tuesdays and will let other games fall where they may for the rest of my gaming time.
The game is just too good to let go, and I've grown to like the company.

I did find a nice place on top of that rock formation on the badlands map so I could do some sniping and some air strikes.

Definitely miss you in the game...and it looks like we'll need a replacement for nic for the next few weeks. The games have been really good...and close lately.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Seriously though...that sucks for nic. I hope he gets it sorted out pretty quick, especially since I've enjoyed having him in the game on Tuesdays.
I've been lucky so far, I guess, but I can't help but wonder whether I'd be better off selling my 60 GB now that I have a slim ordered.
