Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I'm finally done traveling for work for a little while, so I'm hoping I can drop in for a few minutes tonight. Although, the girlfriend wants to hang out too. Ugh... decisions, decisions. It's a shame I can't just start up a split screen mode and hand her a controller.

I think that was $20 in a B2G1 in your case, so more like $14.
Otherwise, I cannot dispute your math. Even if you'd just played our games, you'd be in the 70-80 hour range at this point.

Hell I paid $20 with the crappy bundled bluetooth that you all have to listen to every week. I've played this game more than probably any game, at the very least, from the last two generations. Nothing will ever surpass Civilization I on the PC, however, for most gargantuan time suck.
Now that I've said that, I'm sad I still kinda suck.

Map list for those that care:
Badlands: South City DM*** (jetpacks) (30 min)
Eucadia: Northern Bridge TDM (20 min)
Island Outpost: Over the Bridges CTF (20 min)
Archipelago: Acropolis Assault CTF (20 min)
Badlands: Supply Chain CTF (20 min)
Eucadia: Valley Battle CTF (20 min)
Destroyed Capital: Spire Shut-in CTF (20 min)
Vaporfield Glacier: Communique (20 min)
Tau Crater: West Coast CTF (20 min)
Omega Factory: Hot Zone DM (20 min)
I added that last DM as an end lobby. I didn't like the CTF on Omega but this map looked kind of cool for a DM. Lots of nooks. May be a fun way to end like we did with the Tau Crater DM map awhile ago.

I do feel that I got my money's worth out of this game, but would still have liked to save a bit of money. Paid $30 for the game and 15.xx for the expansions. Also $45 for the PS3 headset.
It is the game that I play the most. Cannot complain hehe.
Tonight I also work. No getting my ass kicked tonight.

Fun times tonight.
Went into the first map late and thought we were doing knives and grenades, until I got rocket launched. When it was just the four of us on the first maps, I had fun on the death match but WhistlerSteve and Flip were kicking our ass with that CTF.
Overall, though, had a blast. Shot chess down with the tank, which was an accidental but amazing kill on my part.
Until next week...

Yea good games! Flip, the levels and timing (getting kicked by 9:20) were perfect
Good to see Digi out there. Its defenaltey chess doing that damn warhawk/jeep ramming. Id like to see that go the way of mines... I also found out Ive been leaving air mines everywhere. That was because the purple symbol looks like the damn cluster bomb! But that symbol is turqoise. Yeesh
Its pretty funny how whenever I got near chew, hed fucking shoot me
All when we were on the same team!

Good games tonight, and good job on the maps Flip.
I was a bit frustrated for a while there...kept getting on the wrong side of uneven odds. It stinks watching your flag being driven away, and the second you get in a Warhawk, you've got 2 guys all over you before you can even get a weapon.
Notice how the last game of 3 on 2 ended up tied 2:2? That wasn't an accident...just restraint.

That's because I was just trying to hold the fort and Steve's one serious flag-grabbing mofo.

Chess: "Flip, I think you're going the wrong way. Where are you going?"
Me: "I'm exploring."
Chess: "Could you explore when you didn't have the flag?"
Me: "Flag?"
BLAMMO!

Oddly enough I really enjoyed that Omega DM. It was like a big game of hide and seek. I wouldn't mind making that a lobby. Anyone who wasn't there last night would be wicked confused when that popped up.

Yeah, and that wasnt very fun either. It didn't even seem like a CTF map, we may as well have been playing team death match. And the final score of the snow one was like 1 - 0...was there no restraint there then?
The only games that were uneven numbers wise were the expansion maps at the end and I sat back in a warhawk screwing around for most of the snow one where it was 3:2...the problem with that one was that you spent all your time in the air as well messing around with me while flip had to take on 2 - 1. The other games prior to that were even numbers where the other team got behind. Honest question, in that case is the winning team just supposed to sit on their hands and do nothing? I know during the Eucadia map it was just 3-1 so it would not have been out of the realm of possibility for the other team to come back and even if we fell back to just play defense there would have been complaints about that as well. One thing I noticed on all of the maps where it was even numbers but the score was not is that the winning team had all of the bases and the other team was flying around in the air or just sitting at their base.
I really think we need to do some sort of manual team balancing because it is getting tiring always having to tip toe around all of this even when the teams are even numbered. Games are much more fun when you can try your hardest win or lose then having to worry about perceived indiscretions. Maybe it is just me though? I was having fun on the Eucadia map as we had to fight for every inch getting those flags(none of the captures were easy as Frizby and Ofermod were putting up quite a fight), but it is not fun when you have to feel guilty about it afterwards just because your on the winning end.

Unless the opposition is over-running my spawn point, it doesn't tend to matter to me what the score is.....because I always feel "outnumbered".
I just try to keep going, no matter what the scoreboard says. As long as nobody is playing "dirty", I'm not going to complain too harshly about lopsided victories. I'm just there to get better, I could care less on my win/loss ratio.
Which is why I'm so shocked when I'm actually the round leader.
