Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

This game is so good, I don't think I'll mind playing this more than once, unlike Oblivion (which I loved).

I was so frustrated early on when I first got into the metro area because I couldn't tell what I could and couldn't jump over regarding all the rubble. I didn't like that I was being forced into the subway to get from one area to the next. Now that many areas are opening up to me (I just got to Rivet City) it's not so frustrating anymore with the fast travel.

It honestly took me about 4 or 5 hours to get to The Mall. I agree it was pretty annoying at first, but once you locate the places on your map, fast traveling takes away all the troubles.

Crap. This is what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to make it to Rivet City to finish up Strictly Business.

When you have the quest selected, your map should show you the shortest route to your destination... it may look odd because you haven't found all of the metro entrances, but if you follow the lines it should be a bit easier.

I am so F'ed right now.

Somehow I lost Charon between vault 106 (Where tranquility lane is) and Rivet City. Not sure what happened, because He was there on the way in.

And now I have saved over a couple of saves (Because he never died), and I can't get him. I am so stupid. ugh Now The last save I had when I had charon was about 10 hours worth of game play bleh.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

Are you sure he didn't die? Did you check where you first got him, if he wandered back on his own?

I once went into the Deathclaw Sanctuary with one of the better followers, and she didn't follow me in! I wandered in, got the loot, then came back out, and got the message that she had died. I never did find her body...

If you didn't get a message that he died, then you'll probably get one later that says he went back to Underworld.

I lost him once...well actually told him to wait, and forgot where he was

But I got that message a few days later, game tie of course.

ugh..so just sleep for 3-4 days..and you get message that he goes back to underworld?

I hope that is what happens. My master plan to have charon and fawkes in my squad was almost ruined

I don't think you can have Charon and Fawkes. Charon is possible with bad karma, and for Fawkes you need good karma.

I think Charon can go either way. Like Dogmeat.

Charon has no Karma requirements, which is why he is often used for the additional follower gimmick (Since you can drop/add regardless of what your karma was).

Had em both with no problem - and I was savior of the wasteland. Surprised it let me keep Charon since I thought I needed a perk/higher charisma for 2 followers - really just wanted to buy out his contract as a good deed.

Not sure why you couldn't do that for the ghoul in Megaton either. Never got any kind of resolution on that situation after talking to just about everyone.

Try it, or just play until you see it.

charisma affected followers in fallout 2. In fallout 3, everyone can have the same amount of followers.

Hmmm...interesting. I'll probably try and grab him now while I wander the wasteland with Fawkes. I was under the impression you had to have bad karma.

Good to know.

When you do tranquility lane they remove your followers. After coming out of the pod I had to tell Charon and Dogmeat to start following me again. Well I left and realized they weren't with me so I had to go back and get them. So he is probably standing next to the pod still.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

So, after completing Strictly Business I decided to kill the slavers and free the slaves. This was all well and good until after I killed the last slaver then Clover decided to turn on me. I don't know what happened, I guess she was upset I killed all her friends. So, I had to put Clover down.

So, now it's just me. The game is too difficult for Dogmeat so I keep him at home. I'll try to get Charon soon.

Yeah in the original Fallout games dogmeat actually did some damage and was pretty hard to kill. But in this game he dies all the time. I don't think he is even worth getting.

His only use is his ability to go find weapons and ammo/medicine.

Is it important to get followers? I am at level 17 or so and didn't even realize I COULD have them
