They announced that the DLC would be 360 and PC only way back... I want to say at last year's E3.

Guess the DLC will be on the eventual Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

Quick question: I stumbled across Vault 23 (IIRC) and discovered...

Spoiler:
...my trapped father there BEFORE I affixed the dish atop Washington Monument. When I went to the radio station to get info. from Three Dog, he was nowhere to be found. By finding Dad before completing the Three Dog mission, did I screw up that sequence?

Spoilered for those that are just starting the game.

Spoiler:

3 Dog should still be there (I'm not aware of any glitch that kills him. In fact, it's better if you find your father on your own and go back to him before putting the dish up, because he gives you a little extra incentive (3 Dog's stash, in another location) to finish the task for him, now that you don't need his info.

Thanks for the quick response.

Went back to the station and the Brotherhood guys tell me to head into their lair to see 3 Dog. No sign of him anywhere in the building. Will head back the building again to see if I missed him some how (or better yet, if I have a save before installing the dish, I'll take your advice and get that "incentive."

Wait, did you meet him before? he should be in the same place you got your quest. You have to go upstairs, through the door, and then upstairs again (he might be sitting in a little side room).

pop a buffout and immediately fast travel - you can get anywhere you want before it wears off.

About weight: Be aware that there are some special items that do have weight, but cannot be dropped off in lockers. You'll see them in your inventory, but not when you open up a locker.

Finished the game yesterday:

Spoiler:

End battle seemed like a letdown. I spent all this time stockpiling awesome weapons, and didn't reallly get a chance to use them. It was much harder to track down and kill the super behemoths. The robot did all the heavy lifting! Still a great game, great ending, and great branching end story.

I only really noticed the Head of State sidequest present in my ending... is that the only major sidequest that shows up? Or are there other ones?

I also didn't realize that the FEV would kill "normal" people, not just the super mutants and ghouls. Guess I didn't listen to the President's speech closely enough.
Wow.

Spoiler:
You went with the FEV thing? I gave it to the elder before I even left the Citadel.

Only killed 3 behemoths in the whole game. Not sure how many there are total - for the achievement.

The one that really pissed me off was at Takoma. I was safely bombing him with the button setup from the Talon Co. guys and taking an occasional pot shot. Then suddenly he materializes behind me on top of the railroad car and starts whacking me. I jump down and he goes after Fawkes - beating him up while he's lying on the ground. I wanted to use a rocket or mini-nuke but with Fawkes already 1/2 dead I didn't want to risk it so I just blew a few hundred 5.56 into his back while he totally ignored me. What a letdown. If I'd known the game was going to be so cheap I would have launched a couple real bombs at him long before that.

I had issues finding 3 Dog after I finished that mission. I went in and out of the building and he didn't show up at all. Finally I went and knocked around a few more areas, maybe even another complete quest and then came back and he was finally in his area again. Real headache.

About his stash...
Spoiler:
If you do blood-ties you've probably already come across it since that location was one of the 3 that were suggested for you to check out - no real surprise there - bit of a letdown - not that I needed it at level 12+

That happened to me as well. I just waited for a couple hours outside then went back in and he magically re-appeared. Funny thing is I was sitting in his seat when he wasn't there while he was broadcasting on the radio. Good ol' Fallout 3 glitches!

Thanks for the tips, guys.

Yeah, I did meet him. He sent me on the Wash. Monument "errand" to earn info. about my dad. Looked all over the joint and couldn't find him. Will do some side-quests, as Tuan suggested, and return a bit later.

Yeah, I lied about the FEV. No karma hit.

Spoiler:

There are 5.
1 you are forced to fight outside of GNR
1 is at Evergreen Mills, locked up
1 is at Takoma
1 is in the Capitol building, in a showdown with Talon forces (I actually liquidated him with a plasma shot, didn't know you could do that)
1 is west of Jury Station, however, there's a little sidequest I think you have to do in finding some graves. That one took the longest.

edit: apparently you don't have to do the sidequest, Searching for Cheryl, to get the last one to show up, you just need to find the teddy bear in the cart (I could've sworn I did this before the sidequest and nothing happened, but oh well)

Did that but didn't see much happen. I knew I shouldn't have gotten so antsy about my rapidly deteriorating t-51b armor (waited too long to get it repaired) and finished up the Capitol Bldg first. I definitely hit up jury station but probably didn't explore much around it in the right direction - I was following different paths to hit each key location I had previously missed once I turned them all on.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

Do main storyline quests have to be completed before you can get followers? I've been doing side quests in an effort to level up before I trek into D.C. and I was hoping I could get some followers as well to help out. I'm only at level 5 and completed 3 side quests.

Some need a quest to get them, but you can get Chiron as soon as you get to him, and he's a great follower.

No. You can get Charon at Underworld, and Dogmeat at scrapyard or scrapheap or what not.

I got Charon at level 4-5 I think

Fawkes is a chick heh.

But you don't get him to the very end of the main questline right? I want to wander around with him to explore..but I have to go far in the main quest line.

I'm outside of the last mission right now and I still have Fawkes in tow.

I just have her backing me up everywhere.
