Well, this is frustrating. I died (got wiped out by a super mutant with a missile launcher) and when I came back, the game's all glitchy. I can't holster my weapon - well, I can but then I just take it back out again - and if I switch to a melee weapon I just keep swinging it. After looking at my Pipboy, coming back from the pause screen, jumping, holstering, etc., my weapon fires. I can't play this way.
So I load up my saved game. The glitch is still there. Do it again. Still there. And of course, I only have the one save. I've put about 12 hours into the game already. I don't want to start a new one, but it looks like I might have to. Blurgh.
EDIT: Whew! I quit the game and went back to the Xbox dashboard and then restarted it. That cleared the glitch. Man, I'm so glad I don't have to start over.

Noted. After that scare I've been saving like mad (after almost every time I get XP) over several files.
It's funny that, for whatever reason, I rarely ever used VATS in New Vegas. Here, I've been using it constantly. The mercenaries are a pain, but when they spawn right next to me, it's really satisfying to take a breather, aim my combat shotgun at one of their heads, and see it get blown away in slow motion.
Last night I picked up Dogmeat. Cute little guy. I'm a ways from level 22 and the Puppies perk. If he should die before I get that far, will that perk even be offered to me?

If I remember correctly, in FO3 you only take 10% damage while in VATS. You can launch a nuclear bomb at your own feet and survive. I think in FO:NV damage is normal, as it should be.

Yep, played all the way through twice, and a platinum trophy on PS3.
I tried to get into New Vegas, but both times, I just lost interest.

Run as administrator... Freeze again 
This time i went all out editing the .ini file and started up *crossed fingers* and it works! Played an hour without any problems. I wish steam had guides on fixing problems with these games during the downloading process. Would be a lot easier than having to hunt around google looking for a fix...
It pops up whenever i boot the game up but you can exit out with one button press and it won't show up again thank god.

With Fallout 4 around the corner I'm making it my goal to finish this game by the end of October. This'll be my fourth time starting. First bought it when it came out. Bought the GOTY for my second try and after failing to get my saves to work on Windows 10 I'm going back to the 360 GOTY.
