Yeah it's right before the last portion of the main quest, but I still had him for maybe 4 or 5 other quests, not to mention visiting and killing people at 40+ other locations while I explored.

When I get a bobblehead do I automatically get the upgrade? Can I still put it in my head bobblehead collector's stand at my home and get the upgrade?

You get the upgrade when you find the Bobblehead.

Last night I started getting cases of freezing. I've tried the cache clear, and it worked for a little bit, then froze again. Hopefully it doesn't persist.

as said above you get the upgrade, but also to answer the second part, you can put them on your stand and you keep the upgrade.

Yes, as soon as you pick it up, you get the bonus points or what not. You keep the upgrade when you put it on your trophy stand.

How many save games do you have? That was the issue with their earlier games as well. I'd try and keep the total # under 20 - erase a bunch of old ones and save over the newer ones. The problem with Bethesda is that they haven't yet decided to put an upper limit on the number of save slots (that I've seen) in any game.

About Fawkes' gender, from wiki:

Contrary to a comment about Fawkes' gender made by his voice actor, lead designer Emil Pagliarulo has confirmed "No, Fawkes was absolutely a male. This was a mistake. Wes gave an interview and he was mistaken. Trust me, Fawkes is and was male."[1]

Yeah, I started to have problems around 100 saves

I kept my saves under 50 and everything was mostly fine.

I found out I had nearly 200 saves. Is there a way to delete a bunch at the same time?

I have around 150. I did play today with no hiccups though (and finally completed the Nuka Cola Challenge).

They are located in the following folder in Vista. Not sure about other systems.

C:\Users\******\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\Saves

with ****** being your user account on Vista.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

If you're using an xbox just start at the bottom one on the list and start hitting "delete, confirm" - it'll go pretty fast most of the time from what I recall.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

So I Fast traveled to everglow national parkgrounds, having already cleared this spot. I fasted traveled right in the middle of a gunfight between super mutants and raiders. It was beyond chaotic, and charon finally died in the end.

It sucked, but it was insane. 4-6 super mutants/brutes, 6-8 raiders. And me and charon in the middle

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

I finished the game last night. Overall, a decent ride, but no classic, and certainly nowhere near as good at the first two games.

I especially missed
Spoiler:
the location-specific endings from the first two games. The ending was way too focused on that one choice you made at the very end of the game. I was left feeling like the previous 50 hours didn't really matter.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

I am sure I can find this info in the 34 pages of thread but to make it easy on me:

Can I get all Xbox achievements by playing as a Good character?

Made me wonder when I stumbled upon Paradise Falls while wandering around and starting killing everyone
Spoiler:
(they are all slavers)
Then realized doing so may ruin any potential quest so I reloaded a save and now am not sure what to do.

Nope, there are a few that require an evil or neutral character.

You'll need at least 3 playthroughs. There are achievements for hitting specific levels -- 8, 14, and 20 -- with good, neutral, or evil karma (each karma is its own achievement). Obviously, you can only get 3 of the nine on a given playthrough.

I also skipped certain of the quests on my first playthrough because I was playing as a good character and the quests seemed kind of evil. YMMV, though, and it's probably possible to do those "evil" quests, take the karma hit, and rebuild your karma up to good level with a few choice donations of scrap metal or purified water.

There are achievements for reaching level 8, 14, and 20 with good, evil, and neutral characters. Easiest way to do that is to save a little before you level up to those levels, then branch off and change your karma (go kill everyone in a town or start stealing stuff for bad karma, give purified water to the bums outside the cities or donate to the church for good karma, etc.) before the level up. You'll want to give some leeway in the experience you need to level up, since killing people will give you experience.

There is also at least one quest that gives an achievement that gives you negative karma (there are a few other quests that seem to give you negative karma, but there are ways around it. And one quest where the "good" ending actually turns out kinda bad). It also ties directly into Paradise Falls, as does an (optional) storyline achievement, so don't go killing everyone there just yet.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

For the ones deleting saves in Xbox, if you don't want to play the game 3 times to get all the achievements, try to keep the saves around levels 6-7, 12-13, 18-19. So you can get the other achievements more easily.

That will also help you if you missed a bobble head or something like that. Saves are your friends.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

I've been playing with negative karma and it's pretty fun. I fast traveled to a station and there were a bunch of guys there waiting to kill me. I killed them and they had bounty notices on me.

Also, 3 Dog talks about me being a reaver, and I think he called me a bitch. Since I've been playing as a girl.

I love this game.

There's a quest in Paradise falls, I used an earlier (really early because I had killed someone for the quest at level 5 or so that was needed for the quest) to do that achievement, then just went back to my normal game, in which my character had never done such an evil thing. I think it took me a half hour or so to do that quest, it was pretty easy.
