Re: Marty, Life is Short (2026) Martin Short Documentary -- Netflix

The release really should have been delayed by like a year.

re: Asteroid City (2023, D: Wes Anderson)

Again no Luke Wilson I’m sure. What’s the deal here? He was in his first three movies and ever since, Anderson has been getting bigger and bigger casts and brings back practically everyone. But no...

Re: The Happy Days of Garry Marshall --> 5/12/20 --> ABC

I was way more into the first half focused on his TV shows. Kinda lost interest covering his movies, which I wasn’t all that crazy about.
Too bad there was no mention of Joanie Loved Chachi or...

Re: Of all movies you’ve seen in lifetime, do you know how/where (theater or home release) you saw it?

I’ve been logging movies for nearly 20 years, and I’ve been logging specifics for movies I’ve seen in the theater since 2012 (tracking date, location, ticket price, 35mm or other special formats). I...

re: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023, D: Mangold) S: Ford - News, rumors, etc.

haven’t seen it brought up, but, maybe... family issues? Maybe something that was in the news in the past week?

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

I hope they’re able to use the Jack Lemmon commentary from the laserdisc that hasn’t made it onto any subsequent rerelease.
And also carryover the features from 2002.

Re: IMAX or Dolby?

NYC has one true IMAX screen and it’s great. All the retrofitted ones aren’t all that impressive.
I picked Dolby though because I find it more consistent across different theaters - even though I...

re: The Expendables: A Christmas Story -- spinoff starring Statham in the works

This is the same site that had the Estevez Mighty Ducks series news. It reminds me a lot of We Got This Covered which has constant bogus news.

re: The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers (Disney+) - premieres 3/26/21

I have only seen the first one but I was always under the impression that Estevez was the star of all three. I remember the TV ads when the third came out. Is it really just a cameo? How many minutes...

Re: Avatar 2 (2021, D: Cameron) S: Worthington, Saldana

Eh.
Looks like what I already saw on the Avatar Disney ride.

Re: Most films watched on the big screen in 24 hours

At home: about 15 years ago I was on a movie forum where we challenged each other to see how many movies we could see in a row. I don’t remember how many I ended up watching but it was over like 34...

Re: Merry Happy Whatever (Netflix) S: Dennis Quaid, Ashley Tisdale, Bridgit Mendler -- premieres 11/28/19

I like Quaid and the idea of him starring in a lame laughtrack sitcom seemed kinda sad. I watched the first episode to see how bad it was, but quickly got hooked and watched all of it over 2 days....

Re: SCOOB! (2020) -- New Scooby Doo animated movie -- V: Efron, Seyfried, Forte, Rodriguez

Ummm... Scooby isn’t supposed to speak!
He mumbles some words here and there, but why on earth did they have him speak in full sentences?

Re: Who wins Best Actor Oscar for 2019? (Eddie Murphy or Joaquin Phoenix)

Yeah I don’t see Murphy getting nominated either. Fun movie, good performance, maybe a Golden Globe nominee.
Sandler in Uncut Gems looks good but so far in the trailers I’ve seen it just looks like...

Re: AMC Theatres hosting Star Wars marathon (9 films, 27 hours) -- 12/18/19 through 12/20/19

I got my ticket for the marathon at the Times Square Regal. Thankfully it has recliners. It also starts much later than the AMC marathon (assuming just shorter breaks) and was only $55 (vs $100).

Re: AMC Theatres hosting Star Wars marathon (9 films, 27 hours) -- 12/18/19 through 12/20/19

Don’t know about AMC, but the Alamo has rules that you can’t show up late or disappear for a few movies.

Re: AMC Theatres hosting Star Wars marathon (9 films, 27 hours) -- 12/18/19 through 12/20/19

I’ve been dreaming of a SW marathon for years. I hope I can get a ticket. I’m in NYC where so far the options are the Times Square Regal ($55, starts at 8pm) and the 84th St AMC (no price yet, 3 pm...

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (12/20/19, W/D: J.J. Abrams)

Anyone see showtimes for a Star Wars marathon in their areas? In NYC it’s just at one theater. (One with recliners, thankfully)

Re: Disney+ streaming service - November 12, 2019 launch

No Ewoks No Thanks!

(seriously though - they own the Droids and Ewoks tv shows and movies, which were overseen by Lucas himself - why not put them on here?)

Re: Little Shop of Horrors (D: Greg Berlanti)

I saw it performed 4 or 5 years ago with Ellen Greene and Jake Gyllenhaal, and Taran Killam as the dentist. Gyllenhaal was not a very good singer.
