I wonder how much. Might be worth it to catch Star Wars, leave and come back in time for Episode IX.

That running time doesn't add up for 9 movies. There would have to be pretty big breaks between each movie.

I think I’ll do that in the comfort of my home theater. I’ll do it when I get #9 on UHD. I have now lost that desire to even see this anymore. Unless it’s getting stellar reviews across the board, it’s no longer worth it for me.

That’s a lot of time to devote to watching two decent movies.

I love SW but are there fans that would actually sit in a theater to watch 9 movies in a row (of course with breaks)? I tried to watch Star Wars, Empire and Jedi on a Saturday back to back to back once and burned out by the time I got to Jedi. And that was sitting on a relaxing couch in the comfort of my own home.

These marathons get tough when it’s more than like three movies if you ask me. I was able to watch The Dark Knight Trilogy in a theater and while cool even that was a tad on the long side. I couldn’t imagine doing one of those MCU marathons or even this.
I think it would have been better to do the three trilogies over the course of a few weekends or maybe just do special releases (like Fathom Events or whatever) of the eight films individually leading up to The Rise of Skywalker.

I’ve been dreaming of a SW marathon for years. I hope I can get a ticket. I’m in NYC where so far the options are the Times Square Regal ($55, starts at 8pm) and the 84th St AMC (no price yet, 3 pm start). Both have recliners. I’m hoping a few more theaters will be added, particularly the Brooklyn Alamo (no recliners there, but it’s a few blocks from my house and there are good food options both in the theater and the building). Another Alamo (Austin) already announced their marathon and while the Brooklyn one held the Marvel marathon, they don’t have anything listed so I might be out of luck.

After eating junk food for seven films I guess you could spend TLJ on the toilet cleaning yourself out for the new film.

Torn. I'd like to do this, but I just don't know that I could enjoy such a marathon. May be a tough time to get off work, but we'll see...

I can't imagine sitting through all three prequels back-to-back without a fast-forward button.

All 9 movies are roughly 21 hours total. That leaves six hours worth of break time, or roughly 45 minutes between each film. That's too long. I've gone to trilogies in theaters and the break time was only about 10 to 15 minutes...that was just right.

Any idea how much they're paying people to sit thru this?

I still think a better idea would have been to break up the trilogies over three weekends. Prequels, Originals, and Sequels. I suppose the risk in doing that is the attendance may be lower for certain showings. Then again I don’t understand how many people are able to take off enough time and tolerate sitting that long where attendance for these shows is that high anyways.

I love Alamo but, legally, I'm not sure how they can enforce this since you paid for the ticket. Similar to leaving a regular movie early. Just say your kid got sick.

I got my ticket for the marathon at the Times Square Regal. Thankfully it has recliners. It also starts much later than the AMC marathon (assuming just shorter breaks) and was only $55 (vs $100).
