After Midnight - 1.5/5
Late 80's horror anthology that pales in comparison to the films it borrows heavily from, especially the Amicus productions and Dead of Night.

Arrival - 4.5/5
After 12 alien space crafts land in different locations across the Earth, a professor of linguistics is recruited by the US military to communicate with the alien life form. An excellent and intelligent sci-fi film that at times reminded me of Tarkovsky's Solaris and Malick's The Tree of Life. Denis Villeneuve hits it out of the park again by giving us one of the best films of the year.

Finding Dory (3D)...very cute. Nemo seemed more realistic in their approach. This got a little over the top. I mean an octopus driving is just so unrealistic.
Wrong Turn...tried this again, but it's not a good movie. Part 2 is so much preferable.
Maggie's Plan...I love Greta Gerwig and Hawke is always good, but this was a little flat.

The Professional (theatrical)...a classic. It has to be. Pure greatness. Like the theatrical better without the Mathilda seducing parts.

Solace - this was better the second time around. I will have to track down the original screenplay, because I can't figure out how this was originally going to be the sequel to Se7en.

Tortilla soup, streamed this on filmstruck. A lot of fun, holds up really well from 2001, inspired from eat drink man woman.

Mascots - 3.5/5
Mockumentary about a sports team mascot competition. Not as funny as some of Christopher Guest's earlier work but still packs some good laughs, especially when compared to the garbage that passes itself of as comedy these days.

Morris From America...a nice fish out of water, coming of age story. Craig Robinson is always good and charming. Liked this one.

Ip Man 3 (2015)
I enjoyed all of the Fight Scenes but felt the plot was pretty thin.

I watched Break Point (2014) tonight and I was disappointed in it. I really liked the cast, but I was hoping it would be funnier than it was 2.75/5

I watched Empire Records (1995) today before work and I liked it, but I feel like everyone involved in this movie was on something during Production. I also liked seeing a lot of younger actors get their big break in this movie. Renee Zellweger used to be really good looking before all the plastic surgery. Also, one of my college professers Steve Fitchpatrick played a cop in this. He had a speaking role, but he wasn't credited. 3.25/5

I watched Tortilla Soup (2001) and I liked it. It's a mildly diverting dramedy. I really like Hector Elizondo in almost everything he's in and he's good in this. Jacqueline Obradors also looks fantastic in this film 3.5/5.

One of the first celebrities I drove when I got into limousines was Darlanne Fluegel. . It was weird driving some chick I had seen naked in a movie. Unfortunately she was unknown so no one I told about driving her knew who she was. I still vividly remember the ass showing scene.

I didn't even recognize her being in the latter reincarnation of Hunter (television series) for about a season or so. I had not seen TLADILA yet. She's hot in the film.

Inland Empire - 5/5
Film within a film within a film (yes 3x) about an actress that is hired for a new project about an unfaithful Southern couple that is based on an unfinished Polish film in which the lead actors met with a fateful demise. That's just the window dressing of this mind bending surreal mystery about the journey of a woman (or is it 3 Women) in trouble. David Lynch's most cryptic film is also one of his most scariest with an amazing lead performance from Laura Dern.
