Dog Eat Dog - 4/5
Three ex-cons who refuse to live any other way look for that big score that might change their lives for the better, or the one that will put them in their graves. Paul Schrader delivers a nasty little indie black comedy/crime drama that has a gritty 70's feel even thought it is set in present times. Excellent performance from Willem Dafoe.

Saw this in the theater and liked it. Got it for Christmas. Was a good movie to watch after dinner last night. Don't want to speak ill of the dead but I never liked Anton's Russian accent. Hearing him in the featurettes made me wish he had toned it down a little.

Night of the Hunter...very good.
Mechanic: Resurrection...what a pice of crap. wasn't even remotely similar to the slow burn, coolness of first. this was just dumbed down action nonsense and all Alba was there to do was look good. can she do anything else? terrible waste.

Hush - 1.5/5
A deaf mute writer, who lives an isolated in the middle of nowhere, gets involved in a game of cat and mouse with a psychopath. A 40 minute film whose length is doubled by the stupid actions of its characters. No, the "what if?" scenario in the middle where she talks to her inner self is not cool. What the he'll was I expecting from the guy who made Oculus?

Black Hawk Down - 1/5
After the less than mediocre Gladiator, Ridley Scott gives us this piece of jingoistic racist propaganda. Hell, the zombies in a Romero film have more humanity than the Somalis in Black Hawk Down, who are reduced to hoards of uncivilized savages. Even if you take away the politics, it suffers from what every bad Ridley Scott film does, a terrible cliche ridden scrip. When it was over I was again suckered by Ridley Scott and Jerry Bruckheimer into wasting two and a half hours of my time.

I.T. (2016)
Watched this on Netflix yesterday. Found it entertaining even though it's stuff we've seen before.
Basically Pierce Brosnan plays a rich guy who lives in a nice house with a hot wife and cute daughter. He befriends an I.T. guy in his company who develops an obsession with his family and eventually terrorizes them.
The guy who played the psychotic I.T. guy James Frencheville was pretty creepy.
It's worth a watch on Netflix if you're a fan of Brosnan and are a thriller genre fan.

The Boy Who Could Fly...remembered liking it more then rather than now.
The Secret of My Success...one of my guilty pleasures. Love MJF back then, and now, but more back then. Also, love the cheesy David Foster soundtrack.

Howard the Duck

Wow, I had forgotten just how bad this really is! I watched it two or three times back when it first came out, because I was 13 and in love with Lea Thompson. I had also forgotten Tim Robbins is in this, giving a really cringey comic relief performance. I haven't watched it in over 25 years, but I recorded it a while back and I'm trying to clear out my DVR so... I should have just deleted it. Not even bad in a fun way, just bad.

Runaway Train...I don't know what that was. Between Voight's terrible accent to Roberts' terrible acting, this was a train wreck. I don't know who Voight was channeling, but it was over the top to say the least and not in a fun kinda way.

Anesthesia on Showtime
Not a happy joy joy film or a Fri or Sat movie but I found it entertaining with excellent performances by Gretchen Moll, Sam Waterston, and Michael K. Williams.

Blair Witch...what a terrible movie and terrible disappointment from a promising director. So unoriginal.
On the bright side, it kinda reminds me how Resident Evil 7 might look and feel and that had me happy.

I watched Good Kids tonight and I thought it was a decent little teen movie. I think Zoey Deutch has the potential to be a big star if she can get in a couple of really good big budget movies. Also, it seems like Nicholaus Braun has been playing nerdy teens for over a decade... 3/5
