The Turin Horse - 5/5
The story of a father, his daughter, his horse and the misery that surrounds them in their routine filled daily existence. A moody, atmospheric film that some may find boring and others mesmerizing. Bela Tarr retires from film and leaves us with this haunting final masterpiece.

The Galapagos Affair: Satan Came To Eden Documentary
The above info taken from Rotten Tomatoes...skip it and just read the Wiki on it. 1.5/4
Darwin meets Hitchcock in this true-crime tale of paradise found and lost. The Galapagos Affair is a fascinating documentary portrait of a 1930s murder mystery as strange and alluring as the famous archipelago itself. Fleeing conventional society, a Berlin doctor and his mistress start a new life on uninhabited Floreana Island. But after the international press sensationalizes the exploits of the Galapagos' "Adam and Eve," others flock there - including a self-styled Swiss Family Robinson and a gun-toting Viennese Baroness and her two lovers. Clashing personalities are aggravated by the island community's lusty free-love ethos, and when some of the islanders disappear, suspicions of murder hang in the air leaving an unsolved mystery which remains the subject of local lore today.

The Interview
Maybe I should have waited for the Blu-ray release if there is a release.
Surprised I have not see any ads on Directv and it is not featured when you click on the 'Movies" icon on the on-screen menu.
Maybe that was by design.

Thats the one where the rich guy banging hot blonds gets a glimpse of his life as a middle class blue collar schlub working and bowling in NJ. then for some reason he thinks that being rich, single and banging hot blonds is a bad thing. SHIT. I wish Don Cheedle would have given me that glimpse before I got married.
LOL
I saw this last week.

Doc. Hollywood
This is the first time I have seen the film from start to finish, and yes...the scene where Julie Warner comes out of the lake does not get old! Great cast, but it really is incredible that as others have pointed out on the web, this film received a PG13. You have nudity, and language (several s words, and at least one f word)...it probably bumped right up against the line of crossing over into an R rated flick. I guess the film ratings board in the 90s did not think the youth of the time would be corrupted if they heard a little language, and saw a gorgeous woman or two in all her glory.
Bridget Fonda looked so cute in this movie, and Woody Harrelson was just plain awesome, plus it had Charles Winchester from MASH.

Hector and the Search for Happiness - This one was just odd, I really wanted to like it because I really like the premise and the actors involved, and I figured it'd be kind of an R-rated version of Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Unfortunately, it strikes the wrong tone from the beginning of the movie and never really "gets it", the quirk almost feels out of place, and quite a few parts involve unlikable characters in unlikable situations that, if they turn out well, you don't care, and if they turn out bad, you don't care. It's a directorial misfire but not entirely terrible and the schmaltzy second half did eventually win me over.

I saw Angelina Jolie's WWII drama Unbroken and enjoy it much more than I thought I would. Some of the torture scenes should have been cut (it dragged on!) but other than that it was a fine film. Jack O'Connell does a splendid job but for some reason all I could focus on was the horrible coloring of his. His dye job was terrible!

To the Wonder - 1.5/5
Terence Malick dives into the abyss of self indulgence once again and manages to come up this time with his worst film to date.
Is this the same man who gave us Badlands, Days of Heaven and The Thin Red Line?

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
All the praise was well deserved for this one. Great action and fighting scenes. I also liked the chemistry between Chris Evans and Scarlett specially the humour. The guy playing Falcon was great too.

Pretty disappointing final movie to the trilogy. Laughable villain and some lazy writing by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen.
Very few positives. But I will give it a C-

Double Jesse Eisenberg. Turned it off after 20 minutes. Just plain weird
Most Wanted Man Phillip Seymor Hoffman. Local boy who died tragically of overdose last year. Supposed to be a good movie but gave up on it. Mostly whispering and mumbling in the first act. My hearing isn't the best so when there is a lot of low talk I lose interest very quickly because I don't know what's going on. Because it isn't that bad that often, I'm not ready to switch to subtitles.

Housebound (2014)
Knowing absolutely nothing about this film really helped my enjoyment of it. I can definitely see people having problems with the pacing as the film is a bit long for the genre, but I though as a whole it was very satisfying.

L'Eclisse - 5/5
After ending a four year relationship, a woman becomes involved with another man. Will this relationship be the one or is it just another setup for failure and loneliness?
Antonioni asks the questions and leaves it up to you to decide the answers in yet another amazing film.
