Sleeping with Other People...highly enjoyable. Chemistry between Alison Brie and Jason Sudekis was undeniable and strong. Almost like an updated When Harry Met Sally. Thoroughly entertaining. Got a little wonky at the end and I wish they had stuck with the first ending, but it still worked on many levels.

I watched The Peanuts Movie (2015) tonight and I loved it. I thought the animation was beautiful and the movie was a great tribute to these wonderful characters that were a big part of my childhood. 5/5

Willow Creek - 3.5/5
After being warned by locals, a couple venture into the deep woods in search of Bigfoot. A good back to basics found-footage horror film that while not as good as The Blair Witch Project, was better than most films that fall into this category.

Baby Doll - 3.5/5
A man arranges for his 18-year-old daughter to marry a middle age cotton ginner with the agreement that they wait two years and consummate on her 20th birthday. Things start to go a bit haywire when a rival cotton ginner finds out about the arrangement and tries to interfere with it. Good film that feels a too stagey because of its screenplay by Tennesse Williams.

My 4 year old wanted to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) - I give this a solid 1.5/5. Absolutely garish production with fucking abysmal, amateur direction and Jim Carrey hamming it up to new levels of obnoxiousness. A complete shitfest in every way. And the special effects are nightmarishly awful. Fuck this movie. And fuck Ronnie Howard.

Star Trek Beyond (3D)...not as good as i first thought when I saw this in theaters. Was not that fun for the first half. I don't know what I saw the first time when I gave it 4 stars. Was much more entertained by Into Darkness. And as I said when saw in theater, the 3D sucked. The bluray as well. Actually switched to the 2D presentation and it was much more vibrant and colorful. Oh well.

Drugs In The Tenderloin (1966)
Rare screening of this 1966 KQED Documentary. I believe it has only been screened 2-3 times in the last 50 years. Q&A with Director Robert Zagone followed the screening!
Beyond The Gates (2016)
Q&A with Barbara Crampton and Jesse Merlin followed the screening!

The French Lieutenant's Woman - 3.5/5
In mid-nineteenth century England, a man engaged to be married is willing to sacrifice all he has for the love of another woman who has been branded an outcast.
Worth watching for the excellent performances by Meryl Streep and Jeremy Irons.

Arrival...wow. simply awe struck by this one. i was speechless walking out. so many thoughts that i couldn't quite grasp at the time, even now hard to wrap my head around this one. such a cerebral movie, but don't let that dissuade you. it just makes you think and question and wonder in the greatest way. it was so good, so well done, so well acted, directed, scripted, shot, just really great and like something i haven't seen, either before, or in a very long time.

Had seen this in the theaters and wanted the wife to see it. It was a fun but wholly unnecessary reboot. Watched the extended cut that added a few worthless scenes with a boyfriend and a few longer scenes of action. All-in-all no improvement. Found it interesting that many of the scenes that would have been 3D, break the 2.35:1 barrier and extend to the whole screen. Kate McKinnon stole every scene she was in.
Kriten Wiig is a local girl so it was fun watching the blooper reel. She had some nice gaffs.
