I streamed Goodbye To All That (2014) tonight and I enjoyed it besides having some problematic internet connectivity issues. It's a movie about a lucky newly divorced dad that enters the casual dating arena and some of his casual relationships are with characters played by Heather Graham, Anna Camp, and Ashley Hinshaw. Really lucky guy. 3/5

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Rented several Blu-Rays over the last few days:

Loved The Infiltrator. Probably IMO one of the best movies of 2016

Don't Breathe was a pretty good and creepy horror movie. Stephen Lang was definitely the highlight.

Hell or High Water was okay. Didn't hate it, but didn't think it was as good as the reviews said it was.

Lights Out was a decent B movie Boogeyman type horror movie. Super short and I liked most of the cast.

Also went to the theater a few days ago and caught Arrival.

Captain Fantastic...nice little movie. Viggo is always good and definitely doesn't disappoint here.

Absolutely as craptastic as its' reputation. I usually enjoy mindless action movies but this one was struggling to make a case for even being made. Audio and Video were A+ however. I can't remember the last time my surrounds worked that hard. All the lame references to the first one made it worse.

The Shallow - 3/5

I thought it was good not great. Blake in bikini was the best part in the movie.

First saw this in the theaters. Since it first came out on home video, this has been a Thanksgiving tradition. Can't remember how many years we've been watching this.

Hacksaw Ridge...simply amazing. gripping and so well done. hands down best movie i saw this year thus far. just totally and utterly enthralling. can't remember the last war movie i saw, but this was best in sometime. everyone kills it, especially Garfield. loved it.

Warcraft... never played the game but the movie was a mess. Great visuals though.

Truth - about the story that cost Dan Rather his job as anchor of CBS News. Starring Robert Redford as Rather and Cate Blanchett as the lead producer on the story, with a lot of other famous faces in supporting roles. Really interesting and well done movie.

Caught a matinee of Allied yesterday. I thought it was a very well made WW2 love story with a spy thriller as the backdrop. Some really good performances from Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard. They had great onscreen chemistry.

I was a big fan of the late 70's WW2 romance drama Hanover Street that starred Harrison Ford and this kind of reminded me of it.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Not sure why I rented this since I was not all that fond of it in the theater. Wife decided she didn't like it and went to bed. I stuck with it but stick with my original assessment that none of the leads are very likeable and you hope they would all fall into the volcano. They purposely made the groom a little boring but I found he was the only character I cared about in the movie and he was getting crapped on by everybody.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Watched The Amazing Spider-Man 2 while folding a giant pile of laundry today. The laundry is a good distraction from a less than stellar film.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Rented a couple more movies today that I have not seen before

I was disappointed with Free State of Jones. I think it didn't live up to it's potential. Started out good, but ran out of gas at the end. It's a long movie too at 139 minutes.

I liked Kubo & the 2 strings even though I'm not a really big fan of the animation style. I thought it was a fun Asian animated fantasy that actually wasn't made by Asian people.
