Never heard of hdmoviesource.
I wonder if that includes the Black & Chrome version of Fury Road in 4K. I'm guessing not.

I already have the first MM and Fury Road on 4K. The weird way they are releasing some of these franchises on 4K pisses me off.

Re: UHD release announcements
Too bad they monkeyed with that movie so much after the theatrical and VHS releases.

Wasn’t there a split second frame with a Jessica Rabbit beaver shot?

Re: UHD release announcements
In the scene where Jessica falls out of the cab and spins around on the ground, the original theatrical version a very brief glimpse of a non-distinct "flesh" colored area between her legs. That was painted white for the first home video releases on VHS and Laserdisc to more clearly look like panties. By the time of the DVD and Blu-ray, it was altered yet again so that the dress completely covers her and you never see between the legs.
Almost all of the naughty bits that Disney objected to were subliminal to begin with, some as little as one frame long that cannot be seen during normal 24fps playback.

As much as I complain about Lucas and the Star Wars changes, little fixes like that don’t bother me as much as they weren’t meant to be analyzed with hi def home formats.
Jessica was already sexy enough, a panty shot probably could have skated by but really wasn’t necessary.

Re: UHD release announcements
^ not to mention, as the story allegedly goes, those lewd frames only existed in the first place because of rogue animators trying (and succeeding) to pull a fast one on the producers/director/etc.
Back then, it was easier to sneak stuff like that in without "management" noticing because it's not like they had technical artists scrutinizing the entire film, frame-by-frame. Once it was noticed out in the wild, it was corrected in a couple different ways.
It's a silly thing to be upset about.

No U.S. release? Weren't they saying that since Gravity 4K got canceled they were sliding Outsiders in its place?

Re: UHD release announcements
Idk. Nothing announced yet beyond the StudioCanal set (which is stacked). I assume Warner’s will put it out too.

Re: UHD release announcements
We got the PR from WB directly, so:
Warner Bros. will also make both it and the original version available in a 4K UHD Collector’s Edition and on digital platforms starting November 9th. Additionally, THE OUTSIDERS THE COMPLETE NOVEL will be available on HBO Max beginning on November 16th and will also air this fall on Turner Classic Movies (TCM).

Re: UHD release announcements
I spent the last year picking up "catalog titles" on the cheap I'd overlooked, -things like "Wolf of Wall Street", "Carlito's Way", "Out of Sight" and, of course, they've all been recently announced for 4K. "The Outsiders" never particularly interested me, -I'd watched a little of it on cable. But a few months back I heard of the "Complete Novel" version and that sounded interesting, so I got it for $6 on the last Target B2G1. I'll have to think about this...

Re: UHD release announcements
Almost all of the Roger Rabbit changes were a matter of updating frames, not cutting anything you can see without going frame by frame. I think they took out a frame that had Michael Eisner's phone number off of the home video release that was in the theatrical release as well.

I actually didn’t even know about the edits to Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Can’t say I really care from the sounds of what’s been edited.
