Wasn't sure where else to put this.
Lawrence of Arabia 4K is back up for order on Amazon, but doesn't ship until late October. May be worth ordering just in case, given the insane reseller prices elsewhere.

Re: UHD release announcements

THE WORLDWIDE UHD PREMIERE
RESTORED FROM THE ORIGINAL NEGATIVE
WITH 5+ HOURS OF SPECIAL FEATURES
INCLUDING THE DOCUMENTARY DRÁCULA BARCELONA
PLUS BRUNO NICOLAI SOUNDTRACK CD AND MORE
In early 2023, a Madrid film archivist made a startling discovery: the uncut camera negative of COUNT DRACULA, in pristine condition and untouched for over 50 years. This gothic masterpiece from writer/director Jess Franco can now be experienced like never before, from its brilliant performances by Christopher Lee as the Count, Herbert Lom as Van Helsing, Soledad Miranda as Lucy, Maria Rohm as Mina and Klaus Kinski as Renfield to its sumptuously unnerving cinematography and eerie Bruno Nicolai score.
COUNT DRACULA is newly scanned in 4K with over five total hours of Special Features, including the U.S. Premiere of Carles Prats’ 2017 documentary DRÁCULA BARCELONA, which chronicles the simultaneous filming of CUADECUC VAMPIR by Pere Portabella and Franco’s horror classic

Re: UHD release announcements

THE NORTH AMERICAN UHD PREMIERES
FULLY RESTORED. TOTALLY UNCUT.
MORE DEPRAVED THAN EVER BEFORE!
It sparked riots on 42nd Street, spawned a generation of gorehounds on VHS, forever set an insane standard for Italian zombie/cannibal carnage worldwide, and is now presented in UHD: Ian McCulloch (ZOMBIE), Alexandra Delli Colli (THE NEW YORK RIPPER), Sherry Buchanan (TENTACLES) and Donald O’Brien (EMANUELLE AND THE LAST CANNIBALS) star in this unabashed EuroTrash orgy of gut-munching, eyeball-gouging and face-chopping originally known as ZOMBIE HOLOCAUST, which a notorious American distributor would then re-edit, re-title as DOCTOR BUTCHER M.D. and re-release as a certified grindhouse masterpiece.
Severin Films now presents both films scanned in 4K from original vault elements discovered in Manhattan and Rome with 4 hours of archival and all-new Special Features that reveal the unbelievable truth behind its bizarre history, infamous marketing and still-deviant legacy.

It is the #1 selling 4K at Amazon but not available
I wonder why it is sold out everywhere?

Re: UHD release announcements
It's been out of print with no real estimate as to when it'd be back. Looks like it's finally due for October, but again in very limited quantities as it was available for $27 shipped and sold by Amazon when I posted that, but now it's back to unavailable and over $130.

Re: UHD release announcements
Strange since it is a really old movie and surprised how big the demand was.
I assume they will issue a regular 4K release that is not a steelbook?

Re: UHD release announcements
Even though I'm a SteelBook collector, I intentionally didn't buy Lawrence because I think that cartoon art is absolutely hideous. I've been waiting for Sony to issue a standalone copy in a regular case.

Meh. I guess I'm an outlier in thinking that del Toro's Pinocchio was awful. Didn't like it at all.

Re: UHD release announcements
I haven’t seen his take on Pinocchio, so I might wind up disliking it too.
I’m sure I’ll give it a shot, though. If it’s a swing and a miss for me, that’d be two in a row for del Toro; I was very disappointed in Nightmare Alley.

Re: UHD release announcements
I thought it was great. I think I was predisposed to however, having heard Del Toro interviewed regarding it on NPR, and why he made it. When he and the interviewer both sort of started to cry I was sold.
