Since it's Shout Factory, you get both! You guys are going to enjoy the Blu-ray. My review is still under embargo, but it's got a bunch of bonus content.

I like the cover.

Lifeforce is a must-buy since the old DVD has one of the shittiest transfers I've ever seen.

Just pre-ordered Lifeforce, along with Phantasm II and From Beyond, all with posters from Shout's site.

The cover-art for Lifeforce is probably the best of the commissioned works so far...

Agreed. Lifeforce was my very first dvd - I watched it side by side with my laserdisc copy, and they looked exactly the same. Almost put me off the format!

I haven't seen any news posted yet, but assuming it's a direct port of the Region-B, it'd have what's listed here: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Rollin.../21012/#Review

I've heard mixed reviews about the commentary, but if the Shout Factory disc has all those extras, it'd be enough for me to upgrade

Yet another title I need to add to my collection.

And here I just ordered 5 Scream/Shout titles this past week (Phantasm II, From Beyond, Lifeforce, The Vampire Lovers and Rolling Thunder)...

LIFEFORCE is one of my most desired Blu titles of all time. Please, Shout, use seamless-branching!! Don't take the lazy way out and half the bitrate by including both versions of the film as seperate encodes!

And, please, for the sake of all that is Holy, No DNR and no EE, as that *almost* ruined your Blu of THEY LIVE. Make that your new mantra, NO DNR, NO Edge Enhancement!

To be fair to Shout Factory, I think they often have to work with the transfers they get from the studios. In this case, They Live might be Universal's edge enhancement.

Scream Factory posted on their Facebook page that they will be creating a new HD transfer for The Town That Dreaded Sundown!
