Is that horrible portrait a reference to something in the movie? It’s been years since I saw it.

I don’t think so.

It’s a candidate for the old forgotten topic of worst cover art.

Only in that Martin strikes it rich in the movie and rich people have their portraits painted. So they did the cover art in "rich person portrait" style.

I think it's supposed to look bad. Looks like the cover is supposed to be a shitty painting that Navin Johnson posed for.

It’s decent with the exception of Martin’s face. I can’t believe that Shout accepted this. It’s unbeliavbly bad and reminds me of the Lucille Ball statue.

One of the dumbest and ugliest covers I've seen. They couldn't have found another image for this movie? I think a scene of him with his family and/or his adopted family when he moved out. Then there's "THE CANS!". Jesus Christ, I could go on. That movie is hilarious and has endless material for a cover.

I have the first 3 movies, bought from overseas. Should be interesting how much better they are, or are they just ports to Region A.

Don't these usually have reversible covers with the original theatrical poster art anyway?

Yes, Commissioned artwork is on top, but original artwork can be reversed if you choose.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

It seems for every one new title they re-release 5 old ones, either as CEs or SBs. Seems the entire CE range is going to get the steelbook treatment this point. I also noticed Brainscan is NOT a CE, which means I'll just wait for the rerelease.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

A couple of new Shout Select listings appeared rather quietly:

THE GLENN MILLER STORY
https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=6890

THE BLUE DAHLIA
https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=6887
Says "extras in progress", so hopefully that's a sign that they've got more Universal Noirs on the backburner: Glass Key, This Gun for Hire, Phantom Lady, Black Angel, The Big Clock, Criss Cross etc. Would've prefered a nice big box set rather than buying them individually at Shout's prices, but I guess we'll see how this stacks up to Arrow's not-bad U.K. edition (they also put out Glass Key and the 1946 version of The Killers).

Generally, I'll buy almost anything that Scream Factory releases, but oh my god was this a bad movie. I remember buying the DVD years ago, purely based on the fact that Tobe Hooper directed it. Man, was I disappointed. And I like the odd movie that's "so bad it's actually kind of good", but I have to stress that this one was just bad. I'd advise most people to skip this one...
