Safe Lists
The following lists are Automatic Safe lists. They are not definitive and there might be exceptions therein, especially concerning Distributors. Generally, the presence of those on the lists in an actual creative capacity (that is, more than just a cameo or bit part. For instance, Bruce Campbell appearing in Spider-Man does not make Spider-Man safe) is enough to make a film safe. Got more? Post them and I'll update the list. Obviously, films not including these participants are safe, too. Update: I added several new names to the actors list. Some of these actors appeared in actual big budget Hollywood fare, but most of their career was in B-Movies, then obviously discard the Big Hollywood movies and just watch the B's (For example, William Shatner. Ignore Star Trek movies but anything else is fair game. Or Patrick Swazye. Ghost is probably not right, but most of his other films were B-Movies).

Re: 15th ANNUAL DRIVE-IN/EXPLOITATION/B-MOVIE CHALLENGE LIST THREAD

Undeadcow's Crappy and Questionable
Movie Challenge 2024

Spoiler:

March Early Viewing Not Counted
00. Jesse's Super Normal Regular Average Day (2019) ★★★★★✰✰✰✰✰ Stupid fun aimless comedy is creative until it gets a little tiresome but just what I needed on a lazy tired Monday evening. The cast largely seems giddy like they're having fun making the film and that feels infectious. A lot of the humor is obvious and silly metaphysical fluff, the topless nuns - it's pointed but also pointless. Despite some adult humor and even cynicism it never feels bleak. [Digital: Fandango At Home HD]
00. Shaitaan (2024) ★★★★★★½✰✰✰ Oddity of a film slowly simmering weirdness. At first it feels restrained and almost too tame but after some zig zags between pretentious, contrived, and unexpected it's final third is among the more bizarre in recent memory. There was a moment of heart stopping dread amid scenes of eye rolling (like doors with locks on the outside). Its small scale, almost like a play, for much of it's run time. The mix of supernatural, home invasion, survival, and dark comedy works in the end even if there are a few deus ex machina elements that spoil. "I'm your family emergency now." [Theatrical]
00. Your Lucky Day (2023) ★★★★★★✰✰✰✰ Twisty siege thriller parades unexpected and mean spirited some of which seems like a stretch. It's a brutal film with Shakespeare level body count, social angst, pregnant imperiled women, millions in lottery winnings, and a pinch of holiday cheer. Well edited never feeling limited by the convenience store setting or stale for the premise which morphs more than a few times. Angus Cloud's final film before his untimely drug overdose demise. [Digital: Fandango At Home HD]
00. Courtney Gets Possessed (2022) ★✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰ "Hey f-ckbutt, why are we here?" is right. There's nothing wrong with iffy acting or indie films or low budget film but this has all the flaws with no creative spark. Its a surface level low energy rehash of devil tropes offering little that feels unique, better, or even like very much fun. It is something braindead to have on that doesn't require much investment and ends up being more silly than mean spirited, just wallow in cheap corny 'humor' while you doze. [Digital: Fandango At Home HD]
00. Exhuma (2024) ★★★★★★★½✰✰ Mystical allegory with ominous foreboding and unique horror. Wet wood in the best way possible that probably makes no sense much like a lot of Exhuma. It's a enjoyable puzzle I don't know that I fully understood from the odd shaman religious banter to political allegory that is obvious but over my head but with an obvious intelligence. It had me googling Korean history. Taunt dark omen fills much of the film in part betraying what may have been a budget spent most on a few key effects and in part because it pays off with delicious unease. As more is revealed it's in a most unexpected form with some familiar horror trappings along sights so unique. Despite some strange scenes the acting and directing is handled with near stately formality that gives it a lot of gravity, Exhuma takes itself seriously and that sells the scares even if the twists are mystical or marred in subtext. [Theatrical]

April 1 (Fool's Day)
01. Back Home (2023, 102 minutes) ★★★★✰✰✰✰✰✰ Clinches swirl to a point the predictable gels into a strangely compelling atmosphere of weirdness. It's a bizarre film that offers little new or unexpected but comfortably so and to a point it starts to feel more like a surreal dark comedy than a horror film, cheesy superficial thrills. There are some gnarly imagery not the least of which is Bai Ling worse for wear along with unexpected fire, tongues where tongues shouldn't be, elevator tropes, creepy kids, and stuff that was done better in films like The Shining, Grudge, etc etc. By this point we'd given up any pretense of originality it's an ok psychadelic fever dream that suffers in spots from budget, recycling, and curious acting. There are nail bitingly tense segments even if some of the plot is understandable best from context of homage and imitation. It's not afraid to dwell in the obviously staged foreshadowing of empty dark apartment hallways until it pushes the envelope of commonplace to a point it's not quite sure what familiar plot point will parade next. [Theatrical]

April 3
02. Om Bheem Bush (2024, 150 minutes) ★★★★★✰✰✰✰✰ Bollywood ghost comedy. Cartoonish slapstick comedy is hit or miss often too silly but keeping an upbeat optimistic energy (even with dark supernatural tropes) takes it a long way. The post-intermission second half is a lot better than the setup and overstuffed first half. The heroes are often arrogant but in an amusing 'Abbott & Costello' style although many problems have near magical quick solutions best for pacing and energy rather than plot. At times it even feels like watching the characters race around on fast forward dancing across the screen with fleeting issues. At some points this feels routinely staged and filled with plot advancing conveniences but it's a good natured superficial disposable entertainment. Its a festival of style over substance. [Theatrical]

April 4
03. Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire (2024, 115 minutes) ★★★★½✰✰✰✰✰ Not sure about counting it but leaning towards it because drive-in b-movie is in it's DNA plus any film so filled with questionable CGI should get some consideration. The crushing sound design is the reason to see GxK. It's the 'Batman & Robin' of Kaiju films, ballooned budget watered down content. Pink godzillas, red kongs, pyramids, questionable computer generated imagery, uninteresting mysticism, and fake science abound. God machines steal the show with high tech solutions sitting around at most only the click of a device away, there are a lot of gimmicks here. Unleashing variants of the famous monsters feels like too safe a choice denying us the surreal wild weirdness that is the best of Godzilla. GxK takes way too long to get to the main event where action staging saves the day. Its the sort of film you could read an outline and fast forward to the last third; but it gets points for being family friendly. There is an odd structure of slow builds towards plain events clearly spoiler in the trailers and posters; like a slow crawl through Hollow Earth unveiling it as if we didn't spend last movie inside. [Theatrical IMAX; wildcard if available and necessary]
04. Hellbound (1994, 115 minutes) ★★½✰✰✰✰✰✰✰ Chuck Norris throws more corny jokes than punches in a talky demonic thriller. "Welcome to hell" says Prosatanos, who is played skillfully by Christopher Neame (the best part of Hellbound). This was made a year into Walker Texas Ranger and fits the mold (Sheree Wilson / Alex Cahill even has a larger role). When fists do fly there is a round of hilariously off sound effects perfectly in tune with the 90s. If I had to chose between dull buddy cop banter with Chuck Norris or hell; of course I'd chose Chuck Norris but Hellbound would make me think about it longer. A crusader prologue that is much more interesting than everything else. For the most part Chuck Norris could have been replaced with anyone else with little impact, most impact for here as a chill winking know it all.. [Digital: Fandango At Home SD]
05. The Black Demon (2024, 115 minutes) ★★★★✰✰✰✰✰✰ Mystical ecological terror ripe with potential that, like the shark here, only very occasionally bubbles into view. Not without spice peppered are some gutsy twists and clever visuals seasoning a hastily cgi'ed in shark. It's a bad movie but there were elements of promise that made me think beyond the screen about what a cool film might have lurked under the surface. Yuppies tourist to the least convincing coastal town all somehow all end up on an abandoned oil rig (there is relevant subplot but it's a convenient excuse, making little sense). Whatever terror lies beneath the surfaces pales in comparison to watching too much bickering about class, awkward buddy comedy, corporate sabotage, getting hit over the head with environmental banter (even if well intentioned), and tone that is often at odds even within the same scene etc. [Digital: Fandango At Home HD]

April 5
06. The First Omen (2024, 121 minutes) ★★★★★★★★½✰ Counting this due to the nunsploitation factor but there is a good chance it's too much a commercial studio film to strictly fit the challenge. Seering intensity builds around the most predictable/nonsensicle plot that gets some extra punch from gutsy visuals, stellar acting, sleek direction, and high production values. Its a ride worth taking but at times the irony over suspense approach to the plot slows the pacing. Today's politics is the perfect time for a return of pregnancy horror and FO has a sly sense of subversiveness. There were times I wondered where the formal gravity of religious horror went while watching the everday lives of nuns peeling potatoes but by the end the weigh of it all was the best part. Director Arkasha Stevenson gives First Omen a punch above its weight class pulling off wonders with the lackluster script and Nell Tiger Free has the perfect balance of concerned and bewildered; altogether it's well acted with high production values (unlike too many modern movies the computer imagery here is fleeting and convincing). On a Nunsplioitation scale I'd rate FO higher than Agnes or WB's The Nun series but maybe not as good (or devious) as Immaculate (close competition though). [Theatrical Dolby]

April 6
07. Animal (2023, 151 minutes) ★★★★★★★★½✰ A gorey bollywood revenge action comedy. Watched Animal again (it was one of my favorite movies in 2023) and it holds up; its a lot of fun with gorey over the top segments and smart use of music to keep the intensity up. It's fun and when it's stupid it's gleefully so. The lead being neurotic about his dad gives the film a lot more heart than normal and even when he is out of line gives him a moral center, which is sometimes too convenient. [Digital: Netflix UHD]
08. Money Man (2024, 121 minutes) ★★★★✰✰✰✰✰✰ I guess I will count this because of it's an action movie with elements of cultural exploitation and having originally been slated for Netflix before a change in plans seems like a b-grade category. "The pain, it will leave you once its finished teaching you." Chaotic frantic fights in a sleazy semi-nihilistic film with nice plot structure slowly unveiling through flashbacks. The screen is gritty and close up (shaky cam sometimes) but the soundtrack is upbeat. There are a lot of metaphors for transformation here; almost like the Spiderman wrestling subplot drawn into movie length. The hardest beat down here is whipping the moral high ground into our brains; that the bad guys are quite dastardly and bad while our hero is totally justified. Representation is important but there is an unusual transgender savior plotline that feels odd and perhaps exploitive showcasing just how pristine our hero is. My favorite character was the mysterious Sita, a character who plays a big role but is given no clear explanation - brilliant implied plot. [Theatrical Dolby]

April 7
09. Ghost Warrior (1984, 82 minutes) ★★✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰ They were too busy asking if they could revive a decades dead ninja without asking if they should. Hiroshi Fujioka has presence and spark as a samurai with a killer stare even if it gets to be one note. I expected more sleaze and cheese from Charles Band and parts of GW are surprisingly uneventful. Beneath the samurai, swordplay, science, and zombie (?) this is a romance at heart and who among us can say they would not fall in love with a reborn samurai? "Whatever his secret he knew exactly what he was doing". Its picturesque, tame, low energy (including one of the most sedate police chases ever filmed), and many things a samurai movie should not be. My favorite subplot is the guy who wants to kill the inoffense relatively gentle samurai seemingly just because. Kurosawa would be rolling in his grave... [Digital: Fandango At Home HD]
10. Cherry 2000 (1987, 82 minutes) ★★★★✰✰✰✰✰✰ Robot sex toy love road trip buddy comedy seems dull until the magnet crane bazooka fight then gets dull again but has hypnotic abundance of nonsense. The strange humor is sometimes surreal and funny but often a bit too campy and reminiscent of other post apocalyptic yarns. Melanie Griffin is ok but there is some seriously questionable acting here - but it doesnt seem anyone was trying to make a 'good' movie despite often high production values. Last Chance Gas & Brothel, this is from the bygone era of politically incorrect comedy and without it's adult joke there'd be no film. The sets might be what most makes Cherry 2000; always convincing and weird, while the wardrobes look like someone went wild at a thrift store. "Remember gentlemen, life is an adventure...". With the excess and the dated scifi this might be the ultimate 80s so bad its 'meh' movie. [Digital: Fandango At Home HD]

April 9
00. Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire (2024, 115 minutes) ★★★★✰✰✰✰✰✰ My 12 year old made me to go back to see Godzilla X Kong; the climax is full of gleeful energy I enjoyed this time and it has a much more 'cartoonish' feel that being more prepared for I could appreciate and seems more in line with later Godzilla spinoffs or cartoons than what I think of with the flagpole franchise stuff. There's no reason for Kong and Godzilla to team up and exist in the same film/universe especially for a prolonged time and I think that's the biggest program here; it tries too hard to justify what should just be wild nonsense. I still don't understand some of the plot 'twists' but my kids enjoyed it. [Theatrical]

April 10
11. Ms 45 (1981, 80 minutes) ★★★★★★★✰✰✰ Haunting mix of cartoonish sleazy bad guys and a bewildered mute obsessed with death. Its urban and gothic with time capsule fashion (plastic grape hat even) and an eerie screaming silence. Artistically shot with dutch angles, slow motion, birds eye views of parading pimps, and a jazzy score. Zoe Lund marvels at the starlet here and its a wonder she didnt do too much else. "She's a witch," the subtle urban horror is delicious but it's basis in gun violence aged horribly yet in a new light that still gels with what feels like the original themes.. [Digital: Fandango At Home HD]
12. Arcadian (2024, 92 minutes) ★★★★★★★★✰✰ Careful pacing, siege claustrophobia, economical horror, and unusual premise saves the day. "Do you want to play Crappy Apocalypse?" It's refreshing to see a film that builds atmosphere and tension without being too slow, gorey, not jump scare happy. A film with heart and emotion measured in more than the loudness of cusswords. Its a slice of life horror film that breaths and is no hurry to unveil its cryptic nature. "Are we not men?" Some of the cameras angles feel too zoomed in it's disorienting - like you cant quite see what you're looking at both because it's weird and the camera is disorienting. [Theatrical]
13. Do Over (2016, 99 minutes) ★★★✰✰✰✰✰✰✰ "As much as I would love to stay and relieve the dalliances of this lothario..." Do Over is an upbeat frank comedy that feels too accommodating to hit the bittersweet feel it stretches for. Females exist to gleefully agree to the bumbling heros sexually or romantically, "you were big, I mean yeah it was good." The comedy is often corny and relatively safe considering the premise; its cute and in service to the plot but sitcom level buddy banter antics with jomes about yoga or The Matrix. Rather than challenge our fragile egos it's enslaved by them at times with nostalgic vibes and the relatable pains of growing up. Comedy isnt often keen on plot but some of the subplots are so obvious its slow waiting for the telegraphed reveal; which is maybe suppose to be comedic. The acting is at times awkward but for the most part works. A well intentioned, safe, and upbeat distraction. [Digital: Fandango At Home HD]

April 11
14. Silent Trigger (1996, 93 minutes) ★★★★✰✰✰✰✰✰ Existential moody thriller with music video set design. Dolph looks bored at times even if there is a guy who talks to his spider tattoos. Overall a bit generic but the two stars make all the flashbacks work. [Digital: Fandango At Home HD]
00. Somehow spent the next two days in jail...

April 16
15. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024, 164 minutes) ★★★★½✰✰✰✰✰ "You all have become outdated." Rambo III level cheese with moustaches and metahumans; there's even a spot on reoccurring GI Joe joke. Gleeful comedy with all firing guns like when a hero enters the scene with a bazooka and beats the bad guys with it like a club. Rollicking fight choreography of gusto and scale missing in Hollywood films of today. There is wanton violence and wrestling staging crashing down with slow motion near every five minutes; there are times it's excess is to a fault. Clever and random repurposing of an older bollywood film hinting at culture elements beyond me with blaring India patriotism. "Beware of us for we are India." It's the least fun when it makes sense, or tries to, because the visual gags are so strong the talky cheesiness post intermission is dumb uninteresting explanation for the craven nonsense it does so brilliantly. At some point the cartoonish action gets tiresome and leans more into a gimmick; thrilling and wild but maybe too one note. "Dawn is about the break." [Theatrical]

April 17
16. The Trust (2016, 92 minutes) ★★★★★½✰✰✰✰ This isn't a movie, it's a standoff with your brain. An abstract exercise in paranoia, heist movie style. It's well acted and perfectly tense but parts of it feel (intentionally) vague to a fault - this lets it hone in on tone in a unique and brilliant manner but it's less a plotline than an uncomfortable anxious vibe film. What there is of a plot is a matter of set design implying a bigger story than we ever see on the film. There is a reckoning coming but no one knows from who or where, except for the text on the side of the speeding van. It's clever and hits the right notes but keep your expectations in check and enjoy the atmospherics. [Digital: Fandango At Home HD]
17. Civil War (2024, 109 minutes) ★★★★★★★✰✰✰A bullet pierces the silence. This is a film about the quiet aftermath of political terror, distant observation shattered by trauma and invasion. Its economical but at times to a point it's an echo of apocalypse porn sometimes too safe (like staring at a photo to imagine the event) - an exercise in tone and restraint. A hangout buddy comedy of catastrophe, often somber and emotional rather than pulse pounding... until there is a flood of bold military action sobering and far out. After the film I stewed in the theater in the grandeur of the screen. [Theatrical IMAX]
18. Lola (2022, 79 minutes) ★★★★★★★★★Shaky cam faux vintage black and white scifi ethics with camera gimmicks and implied scale that magnify a small film of misleading closeups. "You cant kill David Bowie." It's experimentally shot and boldly scripted with a heavy auditory element emboldened by sliced historic footage. A cold indifference of the camera's documentary style and time flashback keeps some of the character's from feeling too relatable but there are surprise moments of humanity and comedy. Overall a really cool low key alternate history what if scifi marvel on film. [Digital: Fandango At Home HD]
19. Zontar: The Thing From Venus (1967, 80 minutes)½✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰ "All our dreams will be realized; Zontar will see to that..." Retro scifi tends to be talky and its amusingly dated for a while. The acting is delightfully wooden especially from the worst mastermind ever and the baddie wonderfully all powerful in a cheesy mess of bad movie sloppiness. "I wonder what effect this power failure has on my wife's big mouth..." Zontar may or may not be a kite; the creature effects are horrible but in a gnarly way. Puts the Zzzzs into Zontar. [Digital: Fandango At Home HD]

April 19
20. Abigail (2024, 109 minutes) ★★★★★★★½✰✰ Pehere are some fun twists, clever turns, and grand bloodletting for the patient and by the end I loved it. Slow going at first but steeped in an old fashioned gothic atmosphere. Near formulaic of legacy horror films with the "unrevealed" horror and slowly rising body counts down to the soundtrack. The trailer unfortunately ruins so much of the cool unveiling but still it's a neat hook. Alisha Weir is a marvel alternating between imperiled and venomous with convincing precision. There is a subplot of mystery where no one knows each others backstory but that also makes it harder to relate to the bodies other than through the universal queasiness of gore splashes (one of the modern touches). Once Abigail kicks in it's brilliant (because Weir) but first we've got to watch random drinking on the heist and other questionable decisions of thin characters. [Theatrical Dolby]

April 21
21. Circuitry Man (1990, 93 minutes) ★★★★★½✰✰✰✰ "Why jack off when you can jack in?" Campy dated chase movie with dessert and wires and a surprising amount of twists. It's meandering nonsense in the best way possible with weird imagery that occasionally bullseyes. Vernon Wells, as Circuitry Man, is menacing but struggles to waffle towards the comedic banter of the script. The soundtracks is more ballad lending to the fever dream semi-serious comedy romance tone that snuck into our oddball scifi. I'm not sure I understood CM but I'm sure it doesn't matter.. [Digital: Fandango At Home HD]

April 22
22. Crew (2024, 118 minutes) ★★★★½✰✰✰✰ Zany comedy of economic angst that doesn't make sense but looks cute doing it. I was surprised by how superficial and bubblegum Crew felt often more serviceable than stylish but it was optimistic with heart. There are plot twists that don't make sense but are fun anyway so who cares. The game lead cast help milk gusto from the proceedings. "Pure gold is my heart..." [Theatrical]
00. Spider-man 2 (2004, 127 minutes) ★★★★★★★★★Existential Spiderman unmasked filled with humanity and delightfully conservative computer imagery. At its heart its a love story not afraid to be melodramatic [Theatrical]
23. Born to Fight (2004, 127 minutes) ★★★★✰✰✰✰✰✰ Twisty generic action film with gonzo explosions and a poor man's Rambo. Its disposable and maybe too safe. I could watch huts explode all day (even if it's just from machine gun fire). Director Bruno Mattei has a flare for cheap mimickry taking things to a deliciously surreal extreme but BtF is less sublime than his best/worst stuff like Terminator 2. Hero Brent Huff plays it a little too casual here. [Theatrical]

First Half List:
Spoiler:

April 01
01. Unashamed: A Romance (1938)* (Forbidden Fruit: The Golden Age of the Exploitation Picture Vol 3) BluRay
A woman who is in love with her boss gets him to go to the nudist camp she belongs to which begins a tragic romance. The boss is tense and comes off as unappealing. While extolling the virtues of nudism this does have a story to it. There are also hints of racism as the woman is of mixed ethnicity although that didn't seem to play much part in what happens. 5/10
02. Elysia aka Valley of he Nude (1933)* (Forbidden Fruit: The Golden Age of the Exploitation Picture Vol 3) BluRay
A reporter is assigned a story about the growing popularity of nudist camps. All about the mental and physical health benefits of nudism. It quickly become apparent the reporter is hot for the editor's secretary who is also member but not much comes of it. 4.5/19
03. Hideout in the Sun (1960)* (The Films of Doris Wishman: The Daylight Years) BluRay
After a bank robbery two brothers are forced to take refuge in a nudist camp while waiting for a boat to Cuba. Wishman's first film and more ineptly made than the older two but very entertaining. A standout is Greg Conrad as Duke Martin who never disrobes and smokes and sweats away in the cabin just waiting. Brother Steve has one of the most unappealing voices I ever heard. All the dialog was poorly dubbed later but that just adds to the fun. The not very tense showdown in the Miami Serpentorium is icing on the cake. 6/10

April 02
04. Gentlemen Prefer Nature Girls (1963)* (The Films of Doris Wishman: The Daylight Years) BluRay
After successfully arranging a big real estate deal a man, secretly married to the boss's secretary, gets fired when the uptight boss finds out he belongs to nudist camp. Minimal plot plays out very predictably but watching was a very relaxing experience with lots of pretty flowers and naked people. 5/10
05. Hideout in the Sun commentary with biographer Michael Bowen (2022)* (The Films of Doris Wishman: The Daylight Years) BluRay
Interesting lecture about how Wishman got into films, the history of nudist cinema and censorship, especially in New York state. I was happy with the general overview but wish a little more time had been spent on this film. At least one question I had was answered - the people dubbing the dialog were not the actors in the movie.
06. The Mad Love Life of a Hot Vampire (1971)* (The Incredibly Strange Films of Ray Dennis Steckler) BluRay
Count Dracula sends three female servants to get the special blood he needs for dinner. Ugh. There are two disks of porn movies in this collection so I figured I should at least check out one of them. The sets were dingy and the sex was dismal. There is some entertainment value in the brief and lame Dracula, Igor, and Van Helsing scenes and the make up for Carolyn Brandt as Mrs. Dracula who comments at the beginning and end. 3/10
07. U.S. Catman: Lethal Track (1990)* B-Movie TV
Two insurgent groups (I think) join forces to take over Thailand (I think) and then the rest of Asia. Meanwhile one of a pair of US agents is scratched by a radioactive cat and gains the powers of the ultimate remote control and a cigarette lighter! He also gets kind of strong and kind of fast and a really crappy fashion sense. Directed by Godfrey Ho who often edited footage he shot into an existing movie and tied it all together with the dubbing. The action from the original movie was OK and the Catman stuff was just crazy. 4/10

April 03
08. Ninja Death I (1987)* (Mill Creek Martial Arts 50 Movies)
09. Ninja Death II (1987)* (Mill Creek Martial Arts 50 Movies)
10. Ninja Death III (1987)* (Mill Creek Martial Arts 50 Movies)
In China, Tiger runs a brothel and is studying martial arts with his master who is head of the beggars. One day ninjas start attacking both of them and secrets from the past are revealed. This seems to be one long movie broken into three parts or maybe it was a mini-series turned into films. Part 1 is full of action and a bit confusing. Part 2 has a lot of backstory and character stuff with less action. Part 3 has more action than 2 and the ultimate confrontation. I liked this, even the slower parts. The Grand Master Ninja wears a gold lamé outfit and there's a powerful fighter who wears a devil mask and is controlled by the sound of a flute. Most of the fights are good if a little samey at times. 5.5/10
11. U.S. Catman 2: Boxer Blow (1990)* B-Movie TV
Some people plan a uranium heist in Thailand and a women is offering an a-bomb trigger for sale. Or something like that. Godfrey Ho strikes again with a very inferior sequel. While I could make up a plot for U.S. Catman I had no idea what was going on here. The scenes from the original movie were usually so dark that you couldn't make anything out or who was hitting who. The inserted Catman footage was much briefer and not very interesting. 1/10

April 04
12. The Ultimate Degenerate aka The Degenerate (1969)* (SWV A Tawdry Triple Feature!)
Wheelchair bound Spencer likes to surround himself with naked women and make them do outrageous acts while he watches. Sordid but lively with lots of nudity and a twist ending that worked. 5.5/10
13. The Lusting Hours (1967)* (SWV A Tawdry Triple Feature!)
Faux documentary about ways to deal with lust including small town brothels, dirty pictures, hookers. gigolos, male hustles, and call girls. OK but just plods along and gets tedious after a while. 4.5/10
14. In Hot Blood (1968)* (SWV A Tawdry Triple Feature!)
What women have to do to be successful models and keep getting good jobs. Lots of nudity. Mostly a really dull party/orgy that luckily erupts into violence at the end but that really doesn't help. 3.5/10

April 05
15. The Executioner (1974)* (The Executioner Collection) BluRay
Shin'ichi "Sonny" Chiba plays a descendent of a ninja clan and is trained in the arts. He gets involved with a plan to break up the Mafia drug trade in Japan. Good if predictable story, solid cast and lots of great action. The leads have a good if antagonistic chemistry. 7/10
16. The Big Racket (1976)* (Arrow Rogue Cops and Racketeers) BluRay
Fabio Testi plays a cop willing to break the law to take down a vicious and every growing protection racket. Straightforward story with no surprises but it doesn't matter. Gritty and quick moving with plenty of well done action and a blood soaked finale. 7.5/10
17. Day of the Panther (1988)* (A Brian Trenchard-Smith Double Feature) BluRay
Jason Blade, elite martial artist and special investigator for the Hong Kong PD, goes to Australia to hunt down his partner's killer and destroy the drug ring his partner was investigating. OK. Moves along well and the action scenes are good but everything suffers in comparison with The Executioner. Even gratuitous aerobic dance numbers can't bring this above average. 5/10

April 06
18. The Hard Hombre (1931)* (Mill Creek Western Collection 250 Movie Pack Disk: 10)
A peaceful man who never fights keeps getting mistaken for a vicious outlaw, The Hard Hombre. Not much action and what there is is kind of creaky but Hoot Gibson is so likable and amusing that this was a pleasant watch. 5/10
19. The Kid's Last Ride (1941)* (Mill Creek Western Collection 250 Movie Pack Disk: 10)
The Range Busters, a typical western trio, are hired as sheriffs in a town beset by outlaws. Standard plot and Range Buster antics with enough action to stay entertaining. 5/10
20. Tarzan and the Slave Girl (1950)* (Warner Archive The Tarzan Collection Starring Lex Barker)
Tarzan trails slavers to yet another hidden city, this one suffering from a terrible plague. Interesting that all of the women kidnapped from the local villages and the unexplained lost city inhabitants are white. One of the better Tarzan movies I've seen in a while with less jungle stock footage, more cheesy sets, a better Jane, and more action not involving jungle beasts. Even Cheeta is well used. Lex Barker does a fine job as Tarzan in his second outing. 6.5/10
21. At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul (1964) (Inside the Mind of Coffin Joe) BluRay
A sadistic, bullying, blasphemous undertaker is looking for a woman to bear his son and causes plenty of suffering along the way. Very creepy atmosphere both from sets and the over the top (in a good way) acting of star and director JosÈ Mojica Marins. There's a great scene at the end where he's running through a forest while certain omens happen one after the other. There are a few effects that don't work well but that's a minor point. Some pretty crazy stuff here including several rants and a cool gypsy witch. 7/10

April 07
22. The Crime Doctor's Warning (1945)* YouTube
The Crime Doctor is a psychiatrist who solves crimes working with or competing with the police. Here he is called in by the cops to consult about a seemingly motiveless murder of a model. He becomes more deeply involved when another model is found murdered in the apartment of one of his clients, a painter suffering from memory lapses. Good mystery with a slightly bizarre solution although the actual motive is a little unclear. 5.5/10
23. Special Agent (1949)*
A railroad detective investigates mail robbery and murder. Starts out with a lot of great train scenes and a well planned crime but after it leaves the rails it becomes a routine but solid manhunt film. Narration is provided by the great Truman Bradley and George Reeves plays one of the crooks. 6/10
24. Adventure Island (1947)* VHS
After a series of misfortunes a schooner in the South Seas finds an uncharted island run by a sinister Englishman. With so many cool things like quicksand, acid, and a snake pit and lots of familiar faces I should have liked this movie more but it just never really took off for me. 5/10
25. Der Zinker (1963)* (Edgar Wallace Edition 3)
Scotland Yard is on the trail of a criminal known as The Snake who uses snakes and their venom for murder. Based on an Edgar Wallace story, everything works really well. The cast is good and play interesting characters with even the usual comic relief toned down. The villain has a very cool weapon and there was some creepy atmosphere especially during the foggy nights. Klaus Kinski is a standout as a slimy, wiry animal handler. 7/10
26. Pilot X aka Death in the Air (1936)* YouTube
Aircraft are being shot down by a mysterious black fighter plane so a group of military pilots who fought in the war are called together to patrol the skies and to see if one of them may be the killer. Although it's hard to tell what exactly is going on during the many dogfights there are still a lot of nifty aspects to the story like a gadget filled house and an interesting backstory for the murderer. 5.5/10

April 08
27. The Hostage (1967)* (Mill Creek Explosive Cinema 12 Movie Collection)
The angry and sadistic owner of a moving company beats a man to death in a fit a rage and then kidnaps the boy who sees him bury the body. Pretty good for a Crown International product. The acting is variable. The boy doesn't do a great job but John Carradine is very good as a colorful street person and Don Kelly as the murderer keeps things interesting as does Harry Dean Stanton as his meek partner. 5.5/10
28. Terror in the Jungle (1968)* (Mill Creek Explosive Cinema 12 Movie Collection)
A young boy is the sole survivor of a passenger plane crash in the Peruvian jungle and is found by the Jivaro tribe, cannibalistic descendants of the Incas, who decide to sacrifice him to the sun god. There's not much good about this film but it is a little bit crazy. The story is all over the place. The first part is a mini air disaster movie complete with quirky passengers, then there is a jungle adventure which leads to a lost civilization which has a fancy pyramid temple and holy dances. Each of these parts is directed by a different person. There's much more including a nun falling out of the plane and the boy being saved from gators by being placed in a handy coffin. You just can't wait to see what's coming up next. There are some great shots of Peru. 5/10
29. The Skydivers (1963)* (Mill Creek Explosive Cinema 12 Movie Collection)
A woman tries to get revenge when the owner of a skydiving school jilts her and goes back to his wife. This is a truly awful movie but it's a hoot to watch even without help from MST3K. The lead is the blandest man I've ever seen. Emotional entanglements are easily and quickly solved. The dialog is usually dull and mundane but is delivered with odd inflections. The editing is strange with too many closeups of people watching skydivers. The guests at the twist party at the end are bizarre, the music is good, and the women are nice to look at. They drink a lot of coffee. 4/10

April 09
30. Barbara (1970)* (Vinegar Syndrome Lost Picture Show) BluRay
At a beachfront summer resort, sexual guru Max gathers a small group of vacationers together to explore all kinds of sensual experiences in order to obtain personal and political freedom. Arty/experimental/surreal style especially in the use of the soundtrack displays all kinds of sexual activity in way more than soft core but doesn't quite cross over to hard core. If there is any message here, I suspect western society has long since passed it by. Interesting but a little slow moving at times. 4.5/10
31. The Las Vegas Strangler aka No Tears For the Damned (1968)* (Vinegar Syndrome Lost Picture Show) BluRay
Wealthy Jeff marries a cheap hooker and takes her home to his domineering mother but the new bride rarely sees her husband since he always has things to do - like stalking and killing showgirls who resemble young Jeff dressed as a girl in a painting with his mother. All this is revealed near the beginning so there is no tension or mystery at all, just Jeff doing his thing over and over. The movie oozes sleaze which helps and there are some bare boobs along the way. 4/10
32. Strike Commando (1987)* BluRay
Extended version. Reb Brown blasts his way through Vietcong, sneaky Russians, and traitorous American officers. Directed by Bruno Mattei. Basic plot but filled with well done action. Moves quickly enough so all the shooting doesn't feel the same all the time. 6/10

April 10
33. Test Tube Babies (1948) (Forbidden Fruit: The Golden Age of the Exploitation Picture Vol 7) BluRay
After getting tired of wild parties a young married couple goes to a doctor to find out why they can't have children. Story takes a roundabout route to explain the virtues of artificial insemination. The woman who plays the wife has an annoying voice but the party they show is hilarious and the doctor, played by Timothy Farrell who often played sleazy crooks, has some especially good dialog. 5/10
34. Guilty Parents (1934)* (Forbidden Fruit: The Golden Age of the Exploitation Picture Vol 7) BluRay
An attorney defending a young woman from a murder charge tells the jury how the burning of a sex education book by her too strict mother resulted in unwilling crimes and eventually murder. I don't buy it. Ok story overall but it is convoluted and seemed to take too long to get to the end. 4.5/10
35. Test Tube Babies commentary with author Eric Schaefer (2020)* (Forbidden Fruit: The Golden Age of the Exploitation Picture Vol 7) BluRay
Fair commentary gives info about exploitation pictures of the time and their distribution. Also the background of the main crew and historical context of artificial insemination. Often just describes what's happening or is going to happen and seems to run out of gas near the end.

April 11
36. SOS Conspiracion Bikini (1967)* (The Cardona Collection Vol. 2) BluRay
A worldwide terrorist organization hold a meeting during a swimsuit designer convention in Ecuador. Government agent Alex Dinamo helps police break up the group. Almost no plot but lots of spy action which almost never lets up. The gadgets are clunky and cheesy in this not so serious secret agent spoof. Never really funny but amusing and pleasant to watch. 5/10
37. Under Siege aka Traficantes de pánico (1980)* (The Cardona Collection Vol. 2) BluRay
A large group of criminals pull off a huge casino heist. After a major gun battle with fairly incompetent police they scatter and three of them break into a home and hold a wealthy family hostage. Good action movie with lots of excitement and tension that never lets up. The police improve as the movie goes on and the home invasion scenes are particularly well done. 6/10
38. The Sex Serum of Dr. Blake aka Voodoo Heartbeat (1970)* (Vinegar Syndrome Lost Picture Show) BluRay
Dr. Blake, a disgraced surgeon, finds a briefcase with a vial of serum in a wrecked car. He injects the serum into himself and begins to crave fresh human blood. A bad movie but fun to watch with a lot of craziness. Has a Herschell G. Lewis kind of vibe with middle class living rooms as sets and the same level of acting and dialog. 5/10

April 12
39. Multiple Maniacs (1970)* BluRay
Lady Divine runs the Cavalcade of Perversion, a traveling sideshow that takes advantage of the customers, and later in the film runs amok on the streets of Baltimore. John Water's second feature is wonderfully bizarre at the beginning and the end but I thought it dragged a little in the middle. Makes fun of religion, the counter-culture and middle class society. 6/10
40. What's Love (1987)* (Vinegar Syndrome Lost Picture Show) BluRay
The devil messes around with different mortals resulting in intense nakedness. Part of this was made in the 1970's. Additional footage was shot in the 1980's to make a complete film resulting in a kind of anthology film. A really boring anthology film. Although not badly made this was a chore to watch. The characters, dialog and soundtrack were often annoying and the whole this was just stupid. 2/10
41. Strike of the Panther (1988)* (A Brian Trenchard-Smith Double Feature) BluRay
Jason Blade and the crew are back. This one takes a while to get going after a 12 minute recap of the first movie and scenes of Jason training a new martial arts task force. One the main story starts thought it's pretty good. Jason has to fight his way through a gauntlet of hockey masked ninja types in an old power plant, the interior and exterior of which are great settings. It's strange that the newly trained task force doesn't show up here, just a normal SWAT team. I liked this better than the first one. 6/10
42. This Night I'll Possess Your Corpse (1967)* (Inside the Mind of Coffin Joe) BluRay
After Coffin Joe's wounds are healed and he is cleared of any crimes in court he returns to the village to continue his quest to find a woman to father a perfect son but he is a bit more subtle about it this time. While sharing many of the strengths and quirks of the first film and including a special color tour of Hell (the rest of the film is black and white) I thought this was too long although it was kind of interesting to learn more about Joe's twisted mind. 6/10

April 13
43. Fighting with Kit Carson (1933) Chapters 1-4 79 minutes
1)The Mystery Riders 2)The White Chief 3)Hidden Gold 4)The Silent Doom
Johnny Mack Brown stars as Kit Carson who is trying to locate missing government gold that he lost due to treachery. Opposing him are an evil businessman played by Noah Beery Sr. and the feared Mystery Riders. Aiding him is the son of a murdered Indian chief played by Noah Beery Jr. and the daughter of the man who hid the gold to keep it from the bandits. A Mascot serial.
44. The Old Corral (1936)* (Gene Autry Collection 7)
Singing sheriff Gene has to contend with a crooked gambling den and big city gangsters who go west to find a singer who witnessed a murder. Lon Chaney Jr. played the gambler's henchman and Roy Rogers has a small part as one of five singing brothers (The Sons of the Pioneers) and gets punched out by Gene. Not as much action as I usually like but enjoyable anyway. 5.5/10
45. Thunder in the Pines (1948)* (George Reeves Double Feature)
George Reeves and Ralph Byrd play friendly rival lumberjacks who compete for a lumbering prize and the hand of an old flame. Good chemistry between the leads. an unusual topic with interesting stock footage, and a sepia tint make this stand out. 5.5/10
46. Jungle Goddess (1948)* (George Reeves Double Feature)
Two pilots (Reeves and Byrd again) find a missing heiress who has become a white goddess for a savage African tribe. Decent but standard jungle adventure. George is particularly good in this one. 5/10

April 14
47. Ellery Queen and the Perfect Crime (1941)* YouTube
Ellery and company investigate the murder of a ruthless businessman. Moves along well until the end when the crime is solved by an off screen confession resulting from almost no detecting at all. It's as if enough film had been shot so it was time to wrap it up as fast as possible. Disappointing. 4.5/10
48. Tarzan's Peril (1951)* (Warner Archive The Tarzan Collection Starring Lex Barker)
A gunrunner who Tarzan once captured escapes and sells firearms to a tribe whose chief wants to conquer a peaceful neighboring village. Using some scenes actually shot in Africa this well paced story is a superior Tarzan movie. Lost of action and adventure and a strong villain also contribute. Jane is very bland in this one but has little to do so it doesn't matter that much and the amount of Cheeta footage doesn't quite cross the line of too much. 7/10
49. The Crane Fighter (1979)* (Mill Creek Iron Fist Frenzy 50 Movies)
After the fall of the Shaolin Temple the daughter of one of the few escapees secretly learns the Crane technique. Basic plot get a few interesting twists and it's enough to hang some good action on. The fights are well done and some comedy shows up in the suitors for the daughter. 6/10
50. Wu Tang Magic Kick aka Mar's Villa (1977)* (Mill Creek Iron Fist Frenzy 50 Movies)
A fighter's life is disrupted by those seeking revenge for the death of a relative but vengeance can work both ways. Standard revenge plot but with a few twists and some psychological aspects. I always enjoy seeing kicker John Liu in action and he was especially good here against an acrobatic pair of fighters. 6.5/10

April 15
51. Warriors of the Year 2072 (1984)* BluRay
In 2072 a TV company produces the ultimate show about mayhem and death - condemned prisoners on motorcycles fighting to the death in a modern Roman colosseum. Directed by Lucio Fulci. Very cheesy feel all around with the miniature work looking especially bad and the plot being a little loose (Fred Williamson just seems to disappear right before the end). However some of the low budgets sets work pretty well and the story never drags. 5/10
52. Raiders of Atlantis (1983)* BluRay
Atlantis rises and sends a whole lot of post apocalyptic bikers to take back the world. A totally bonkers plot, lots of run and gun action both urban and jungle, some strange science, and marginal special effects gave me a movie I liked a lot. Directed by Ruggero Deodato. 6/10
53. Battle of the Worlds (1961) BluRay
A new planet is discovered heading for Earth. A brilliant, curmudgeonly scientist and government officials try to come up with a plan while constantly bickering. Solid, cheesy Italian SF starring Claude Rains who does a good if bombastic job as the scientist. I've seen this before in cropped, faded copies. A widescreen, clear print doesn't reveal a masterpiece but does make it more enjoyable. Directed by Antonio Margheriti. 5/10

April 16
54. Santos vs Infernal Men (1961)* (Enter Santo) BluRay
An undercover police detective infiltrates a band of smugglers in Cuba. Santo lurks in the background and drops in a few time for a fight. Slow moving with very little action and what is there is just average. We don't even find out what is being smuggled. No wrestling but a few musical numbers. OK but far from the best Santo movie. 4/10
55. My Name Called Bruce (1978)* B-Movie TV
Bruce Le plays an agent trying to break up an antique smuggling ring and get revenge for the death of his brother. Made in South Korea. The story is kind of confusing and the fights are just OK. Bruce Le doesn't really have a big role here, most of the heavy lifting is done by a female detective sergeant play by Eun-joo Im, a Korean actress who is pretty good in the role. 4.5/10
56. Savage Sisters (1974)* BluRay
In a banana republic three women, two revolutionaries and a prison guard, go after a million US dollars which is also pursued by mercenaries, a corrupt general, and a corrupt rich American. Lighthearted action story more amusing than outright funny but I did get a few chuckles out of it. Directed by Eddie Romero with John Ashley, Sid Haig, Vic Diaz and Gloria Hendry. 6/10
57. Hard Hunted (1992)* (Bullets, Bombs and Babes: The Films of Andy Sidaris)
The evil Mr. Kane is after a device that can trigger a nuclear bomb and the usual Andy Sidaris gang of boobs and hunks are out to stop him. Chases, explosions, and odd vehicles are all there but it feels like the formula is starting to wear a little thin. 4.5/10

April 17
58. The Executioner II: Karate Inferno (1974)* (The Executioner Collection) BluRay
The gang from the first film is back, this time taking on the Chicago Mafia and trying to recover a stolen neckless and lots of cash. There was just about the perfect mix of humor and action in the original. This one has more humor, including more than one fart joke, and a less action but it's still enjoyable. The story is a little crazier and the action is wilder. 6.5/10
59. Enter the Game of Death (1978)* B-Movie TV
Shortly before WW2 several factions search for an important document vital to China's survival. Bruce Le is in full Brucesploitation mode in this one. There is minimal plot and one fight after another. Some are just OK but some are fun with the ones in the inevitable tower being the best. Bolo Yueng has a large part. 5/10
60. The Heroin Busters (1977)* (Arrow Rogue Cops and Racketeers) BluRay
Fabio Testi plays an undercover cop trying to work his way into a worldwide heroin racket. David Hemmings plays his boss. Grim and gritty, the real action takes a while to kick in but the final long chase is very exciting. All of the cast is good and Goblin provides a nifty soundtrack. Directed by Enzo G. Casetellari. 7/10

April 18
61. Red Midnight (1966)* (Vinegar Syndrome Lost Picture Show) BluRay
A doctor and his vacation companions are captured by foreign agents after doing a good deed. The doctor convinces the agents not to use atom bombs to destroy America but rather to burn major cities and industrial centers to the ground. Not really a nuclear scare movie but rather a condemnation of current urban planning policies. Huh?Technically an awful movie this was a blast to watch. Almost every scene brings a new level of craziness and the final outcome is outrageous. 3/10 as a movie, 8/10 as must see trash.
62. The Strange World of Coffin Joe (1968)* (Inside the Mind of Coffin Joe) BluRay
Coffin Joe hosts a three story anthology film. The first story is about an elderly doll maker, the second concerns a hunchbacked ballon vendor and his obsession with an attractive young woman, and the third is about a very Joe-like professor who conducts brutal experiments to prove torture brings out the worst in people. The stories get sleazier as they go along. Sometimes Joe's rants just go one too long. 6.5/10

April 19
63. Fighting with Kit Carson (1933) Chapters 5-8 around 66 minutes
5)Murder Will Out 6)The Secret of Iron Mountain 7)The Law of the Lawless 8)Red Phantoms
The bad guys find the gold! Hard riding, shooting, and roping ensues. Noah Berry Sr. is just great as the ruthless, snarling, cigar smoking main villain,
64. Kickboxer Robocop aka Rings Untouchable (1992)* B-Movie TV
Godfrey Ho strikes again. Jack. a boxer, is dropped by his manager and gets busted during a drug deal gone bad. Wilfredo gets life for killing the guy who raped his sister and goes to the same prison. The two never meet but at least some effort is made to make you think they are in the same movie. There's precious little kickboxing and no robocop at all, just a guy in a silver spacesuit who is a drug induced hallucination. Not bad for a Ho epic. 5/10
65. Cheerleaders Beach Party (1978)* Prime
The four cheerleaders of Rambling U. head to State U. territory to stop the three best football players from Rambling defecting to State. There are boobs, hash filled brownies and a wild party but all in all this feels bland and unenthusiastic. 4/10
66. Gas Pump Girls (1979)* Prime
Several young women just out of high school use T and A tactic to save Uncle Joe's failing gas station. They recruit their boyfriends and even some local bikers to help out. Never really funny but the performers are likable and the pace is lively. There are a few song and dance numbers and the soundtrack is generally decent.
There are even some older actors involved: Huntz Hall (Bowery Boys), Joe E. Ross (Car 54, Where Are You), and Mike Mazurki (numerous roles as a heavy in the 40's and 50's). An amusing and pleasant film. 5/10

April 20
67. The Cowboy Millionaire (1935)* (Mill Creek Western Collection 250 Movie Pack Disk: 3)
George O'Brien plays a cowboy working on a dude ranch who falls for an aristocratic British woman and has to deal with a swindler out to get his gold mine. OK, without a whole lot of action but the cast is good and the story interesting. 5/10
68. Prairie Moon (1938)* (Gene Autry Collection 7)
Gene and his school teacher girlfriend have to take care of three tough kids from the big city who inherited a ranch from their gangster father who was killed by the police. Part of the ranch is being used to hide stolen cattle by a gang of rustlers. Good stuff. The kids are very entertaining and the songs are fine. There's not a whole lot of action until the exciting climax but that's well done. 6.5/10
69. Iron Angel (1964)* (Mill Creek Explosive Cinema 12 Movie Collection)
During the Korean War six soldiers are sent to destroy a mortar that is preventing needed supplies getting to other troops. Along the way they meet a nurse with no sense of direction. Low budget war movie with limited action and lots of walking and driving. A few times the scene suddenly shifts to illustrate the erotic fantasies one of the men is having. All of these are pretty tame. A little weird but watchable. 4.5/10
70. Samson and the 7 Miracles of the World aka Maciste alla corte del Gran Khan(1961)* BluRay
Original cut. In 13th Century China Maciste helps to free the country from Mongol tyrants. OK with several feats of strength (uprooting a tree, fighting a tiger, stopping a chariot, moving some boulders, and more). The setting is different but overall the movie seems less spectacular than it could have been. Part of it could be the standard plot. 5/10

April 21
71. The Throne of Fire (1983)* B-Movie TV
Stud muffin Siegfried tries to stop the son of Satan from becoming king by marrying hottie Princess Valkari. Low rent Italian Conan ripoff has a nice castle for outdoor shots but that's about it. It's hard to tell which side is more incompetent in this story full of stupidity with one of the lamer sons of Satan I've seen. The Well of Madness was pretty cool for a Disney ride but the action scenes prove that slow motion does not make poorly staged fight scenes look better. 4/10
72. Just Before Dawn (1946)* YouTube
The Crime Doctor becomes an instrument of murder when an inulin injection he gives a man causes his death. Above average entry has neat tricks by the doctor and some atmospheric murders. The solution is logical and well done. Directed by William Castle. 6/10
73. Tiger At the Top aka Tigers At Top (1975)* (Mill Creek Iron Fist Frenzy 50 Movies)
A fighter is charged with transporting some gold for his community, along the way he encounters many enemies and a few friends. The head bad guy can use the not so amazing hypnotic fist technique. One of the friends just fades away before the movie ends, so the plot is a little loose. The fights are average but reasonably well done. 5/10

Re: 15th ANNUAL DRIVE-IN/EXPLOITATION/B-MOVIE CHALLENGE LIST THREAD

My list goes here:

April 2
1. Howard the Duck
(1986) Yes, this was the very first theatrically released Marvel movie. That doesn't mean it's any good.

April 3
2. Deathstalker
(1983) Grade-Z Conan rip-off. Enough boobs to keep one watching, amongst them Barbie Benton's.

April 4
3. Deathstalker II
(1987) It's surprising how many years passed before they made a sequel. Much more lighthearted than the original, with a different Deathstalker but again, enough boobs to keep one's interest.

April 5
4. Hollywood Boulevard
(1976) A B-movie about B-movies. Co-directed by Joe Dante and starring Dick Miller alongside Mary Woronov (who looks amazing!) and a bevy of beautiful buxom gals who show some boobs at least once.

April 6
5. Rarotonga (1978) Based on the Mexican female comic book character. The beautiful Rarotonga is an Island Queen who seduces a doctor who comes to cure the natives.
6. La Isla de Rarotonga (1982) Though starring the same male lead as in the above mentioned Rarotonga, this one inexplicably does NOT star Rarotonga herself. Only the island that the white doctor goes to is called as such. Anyway there is a native queen (again, inexplicably a blonde white woman) who looks fantastic naked, so I'm not complaining.

April 7
7. Ms. 45
(1981) Rape-revenge cult classic. A mute woman goes on a killing spree after being raped twice in one day.

April 8
8. Las Momias de Guanajuato
(1972) People often misremember this as being called Santo vs Las Momias de Guanajuato, but the famous masked Mexican wrestler has a secondary role here as the stars are Blue Demon and Mil Mascaras who must face the dreaded mummies.

April 9
9. El Vampiro y el Sexo (1969) Infamous movie whose existence was thought to be an urban legend that said that Santo, the famed Mexican wrestler, had made a porno movie - this was completely false. This is just an alternate version of Santo en El Tesoro de Drácula (Santo in Dracula's Treasure). El Vampiro y el Sexo simply adds some nudity curtesy of Dracula's vampire women, however Santo himself is in none of these scenes.

April 10
10. Blue Tiger
(1994) Above average female revenge film. The beautiful Virginia Madsen stars as a mother seeking revenge (justice?) for her murdered son who was killed in a gangland crossfire. I hasten to put this as a B-movie because it really is quite good, with skillful direction, solid pace with an outstanding performance by Virginia Madsen.

April 11
11. Backstreet Justice
(1996) Linda Koslowski of Crocodile Dundee fame stars as a cop uncovering a killer posing as a cop. She appears nude here in one steamy scene.

April 12
12. 4D Man
(1959) A scientist discovers how to pass through solid objects, however every time he uses his power he ages, forcing him to suck the life out of others in order to sustain his own. Lee Meriwether stars looking gorgeous, justifying price of admission on her own.

April 13
13. Pray for the Wildcats
(1974) Andy Griffith, William Shatner and Robert Reed (the dad in the Brady Bunch) all play against type as middle aged business men who go on a motorcycle trip to Baja California, Mexico. All have ulterior motives and the drama between the characters makes for some interesting viewing. Cheesy as all hell but entertaining.

April 14
14. Pacific Rim
(2013) Try as it might, this never rises above a B-movie, and that's just fine because it's entertaining and with pretty decent effects.

April 15
15. Las Bestias Jóvenes (The Young Beasts)
(1970) Melodrama of young people gone wild. That means drinking and sex.
