How you watch your film is up to you. I'm not asking questions .If you cannot watch your assigned film for financial reasons (some are rental only) or just really don't want to spend $3 for a shot at winning some Blu-rays, let me know and I'll assign you another film (likely not from the previously-posted list). I cannot legally obligate you to spend money on this and I also ethically won't do it.
P.S. Streaming Platforms are as of August 30th. I don't know what will change in Spetember, but you can always take a look at https://www.justwatch.com/

I'm up for a random watch also. The choices that you listed look good, and I'm sure that anything else that you chose would be good also.

I wanted to send out giveaways earlier this year so people could actually watch them during October and make it a little more engaging than just pulling a name out of a metaphorical hat (a random name selector website)

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 18: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)
OK, for the giveaways:
How would people feel about being randomly assigned a film to watch?
I will publish the shortlist beforehand, and anyone who wants to win tells me and I'll use a Random Name Selector to assign you a film. Could be a classic, could be a dud (I'm thinking about making every 6th film on the list something garbage).
Would an extra film be a little too much?

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 18: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)
Watched the new Shudder original Allegoria last night which is a horror anthology directed by none other than Rob Zombie's younger brother. Neat thematic connectivity between the stories all having to do with creating "art". It's only around 70 minutes so should fit nicely into the challenge for those wanting to rack up lots of titles. Recommended.

Update! No, I haven't abandoned the thread, it's just been a hectic week.
The subset list is almost complete.
The theme/subset list with physical media and streaming guide will be going up soon.
Still waiting on picks from Trevor and Shack.
Fun fact: I've watched 12 new-to-me films from the suggestions as of this post.
One final reminder to give your crossover picks if you haven't.

^I'll get the RIP list up soon.
Yes. I signed up all the way back in 2012, but haven't done much of anything with it outside of follow a few people. I actually do intend to use it eventually.

We're 90% sold out of THE NINTH CONFIGURATION. It falls in between The Exorcist and The Exorcist III as the second...

Head's up for a great film. This unfortunately won't be popping up at Hamilton later for a cheaper price since it's a site exclusive and limited to 1,500 units.

To avoid stepping on Chad's toes and to give you guys more leeway in the actual challenge, I'll assign everyone their films in the beginning of September. You'll have the whole month, more or less, to watch it and until mid-October to get me an address if you're chosen as a winner.
I wanted to send out giveaways earlier this year so people could actually watch them during October and make it a little more engaging than just pulling a name out of a metaphorical hat (a random name selector website)

Quick suggestions of:

The Invitation
I’ll try to make some time to read thru the thread and make more suggestions on needed themes later.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 18: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)
I'll double-check tomorrow when I have more time but I think the themes that need more coverage are Video, Holiday, Vampires and Halloween.
BTW, is that The Invitation from 2015 or the new one being released this month?
