You guys are going to put Xbox One analog sticks on your DS4s? That's like, the devil touching holy water or something isn't it?

After putting on the thumb grips, I think the sticks feel great.

Agreed. With the Grip Its, it seems pretty perfect to me (I wasn't such a fan of those gel alternative ones though). No way I'm doing that controller mod -- not like it's super-difficult, but way too many potential things for me to screw up there, and I'm not such a huge fan of the feel of the XO sticks either.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Just in case anyone was wondering, Sony has fixed whatever was the problem with pre-ordering digital releases. They said they'd have it working by the time Destiny came out, but it's already working correctly. Now after a pre-order is made, the system automatically downloads the game early and displays it on your XMB with a countdown timer, scheduled to unlock at Midnight of the release date.

I purchased the pre-order of The Swapper a few days ago and it was automatically downloaded on my PS4 yesterday without me doing anything else. Set to unlock in an hour, but I'm going to bed.

The countdown is a really nice touch.

yea...I have that "countdown" going on with my Destiny Guardian Pre-Load. I'd personal like it if they had something extra like some voice feature actually doing the last 20or so seconds like an Shuttle Countdown from Mission Control...

Velocity 2X comes out on the PS4 and PS Vita on 9/2/14. Date is significant because it's the first Tuesday of next month and that hints at it possibly being one of the Sept 14 PS Plus freebies. I'd be up for that.

I should know this, but is that a sequel to Velocity Ultra? That's one of my favorite Vita games.

I really really really hope you're right.

And here's a video of Music interviewing the dude who played Cyclops from X-men...and some extended gameplay:

Just finished this mod for the Dual Shock 4. All in all an excellent easy to do mod which improves the controller greatly.

Nice work Kenshiro!

Recommend adding an "L" to the end of your imgur file name...before the .png.

Will make it look like this:

Or an "m"

Or an "s"

Nice! I read that sometimes the X1 sticks are a little loose or wobbly in the DS4 so some people wedged a tiny piece of folded paper into the part that holds the stick. Did you have to do this?

Also, can you post a link to where you bought the X1 sticks?

Thanks

eBay. A box of 20 was $15.

So far the sticks fit perfectly, like it was made for the controller.

The X1 sticks feel better and more responsive to me than the stock DS4 thumbsticks.

I thought this was somewhat interesting and puzzling at the same time...

Gamescom 2014 Award Nominees Revealed, Looks Weird List With "No DriveClub And Destiny"

..not only no Destiny or Driveclub but no COD, BF, Assassins Creed Unity or Dragons Age either.

I don't think Gamescom nominates multiple years in a row, Destiny cleaned up last year winning in 4 categories, DriveClub was nominated for best next-gen racer. Neither should be eligible this year.

I was looking on ebay as well and was this close to buying 4 for $6 last night.

The sticks are just a bit taller than the stock ones, which is probably what makes them feel more precise...but hopefully not too much looser, because the DS4 sticks have perfect resistance IMO.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I just started using the Xbone, but the sticks seem a bit too small for my liking. Maybe I will get used to them.
And I have to say that the 'X' light on the Xbone controller is actually more distracting to me than the PS4 lightbar since it is actually right there on the face on the controller instead of the underside.

Replacing the entire sticks is too much hassle, and honestly, unnecessary - just let me know what the best solution is to the rubber thingies wearing out.

So far the Grip-It covers (don't pay more than $5) from Amazon seem to be holding up well.

Yeah, Grip-Its are what I have, and they're good. I'd recommend them even before the rubber wears out.

That said, swapping the sticks out looks super easy. I'd guess less than 10 minutes per controller.
