And you never use buttons on the right side? You don't duck, jump, switch weapons, etc. playing any of these games? You just like to walk/run around and look around with the right stick?

How about you produce statistics? It's your argument.
I have absolutely no doubt about the shooters, both first person and third. Right thumb conservatively spends 80% of the time on the right stick, which is in a brutally painful location on every console but the WiiU AFAIK.
And if NHL still works the way I remember it, that too.

Slow day if we are arguing about sticks and button usage.

I never really thought about which buttons games relied on; I always felt or assumed most games used buttons since that's the way it was in the past, but I guess shooters definitely rely on the right stick for aiming. I think its a decent mix, I mean something like God of War is all button mashing, as do a lot of 2d/3d platformers that have fixed cameras. Sports games seem to try and use the right stick for different functionality as a "hit stick" in Madden or iso-motion in NBA2K, but the face buttons obviously get a ton of use too. So maybe it just depends on the type of games you're playing? It's all preference in the end, but I still always got the feeling that most people seemed to like the 360 layout still based on completely anecdotal internet 'pulse'

People liked the 360 better because the DS3 wasn't executed well, not because it was symmetric.
My position is that neither symmetric or asymmetric is inherently better. Either can be great (DS4, 360, GC) and either can suck (DC, DS3) or anywhere in between depending on execution.

Exactly. I wasn't saying either one was better than the other (but for the games I play most, I have a favorite
). I was responding to Michael Corvin presenting opinion as fact. It just so happened Brack decided to jump in and defend it.I don't follow closely enough to know who owns each system, or both, but I have a sneaking suspicion it all comes down to you like the controller of the system you own because that's what you're used to.
Does that make us all just a bunch of fanboys? Possibly
