Gameplay-wise, I felt the exact opposite. Though I've played every CoD (and all Killzones as well).

Killzone seemed to have enemies pop out of nowhere, even when I was using the scanner thing, and no clear delineations of where you could and could not go (I would die randomly stepping in the wrong direction, not off a cliff or anything like that). It also didn't have much momentum. COD is the exact opposite. I guess that means that COD feels a little on rails, but for an FPS, I kind of want that.

Yeah, I understand. Sometimes I don't mind on-rails shooters, but I've gotten bored by them. And CoD is just all climax without any of the buildup that's required to make those over the top moments feel effective.

But, dude, you get to rip people's throats out as a dog!
Maybe I'll let Killzone sit for a bit and come back to it.

Did anyone else notice in the killzone single player that your character would change height? Most noticeable when that helghan chick is tagging along, sometimes you're the same height, sometimes you're much shorter.

As a Homeland fan, I just get a kick that in Killzone, you're getting all your orders directly from David Estes. Does that guy ever smile?

I've been wrapped up with Warframe for awhile and got the Killzone Bundle from Amazon. Never played any of the other Killzone titles since I moved over from the 360 but I feel the game is actually pretty good. The visuals....second to none. I've spent time just looking around in some areas just to see the detail, lighting and shadows and really amazed.

Yeah, but while KZ looks great, they have just way too much shit flying around the locations, like loose paper, debris, etc. It's like overkill with particle effects; just because they can have so many particles flying around, doesn't mean they should.

PlayStation 4's next system software update is slated to hit late tonight, bringing with it support for wireless stereo headsets, Sony announced this morning.
Update 1.60 will add support for both the standard Pulse and Pulse Elite Edition headsets, which offer 7.1 virtual surround sound and "crystal clear" voice chat, according to the company. A tweet from PlayStation Europe community manager Chris Owen notes the update will also make general stability improvements and add the ability to mute the PlayStation Camera.

Is there no way to mute the elevator music when using the Playroom?

Playing some Black Flag, while it certainly looks noticeably nicer on the PS4 than it does on the PS3, it's not as drastic a step up as Battlefield 4 is on the PS4 when compared to it's PS3 version. That thing just looks sick.

Hello PlayStation Nation! The next system software update for PlayStation 4 (version 1.60) will be available for download beginning late tonight, bringing support for the PULSE and PULSE – Elite Edition wireless stereo headsets to PS4. We know you’ve been patiently waiting for this update, which means PS4 owners will now be able to enjoy an enhanced gaming experience with 7.1 virtual surround sound and crystal clear voice chat with our official PlayStation headsets. PlayStation headsets are created for PlayStation gamers, by gamers – and designed to truly provide the audio that game developers intended. It’s truly how games were meant to sound.
I’m also excited to introduce the newest member of our headset lineup – the Gold Wireless Headset, which launches early this month. This new headset offers 7.1 virtual surround sound, custom audio modes created by developers specifically for PlayStation games, a hidden noise cancelling microphone for voice chat while playing online, customizable faceplates, and other features –all for $99.99 (MSRP).

You can connect the Gold headset to your PS4, PS3 or computer using the wireless adaptor for eight hours of straight gameplay. The headset also is compatible with your PS Vita or other mobile device with the included 3.5mm audio cable. The portable, folding design and travel pouch make it perfect for playing games or listening to music at home or on the go.
The Gold Wireless Headset and the PULSE – Elite Edition are compatible with the free Headset Companion App, which hits PlayStation Store in February. The app allows you to download developer-created game modes that are specifically tuned to enhance a game’s audio. Kicking off the custom sound modes will be Sucker Punch, who’s developing a mode for their highly anticipated PS4 exclusive inFAMOUS Second Son. In addition to these custom game modes, the app also offers a variety of preset audio modes for games, music and movies, as well as a tool to create your own custom EQ mode.
For additional information on PS4 system update v.1.60, including how to update your system, please click here when the update goes live. Hope you enjoy the new features and keep the feedback coming. Greatness Awaits!

Now, if I were the cynical type, I might point out the curious timing of releasing this not-exactly-long-awaited update on the same day they announce a new wireless headphone for sale. But I'm not. In either case, I'm very glad the update is coming. As most of you here know, I really, really love the Pulse Elite headset, and they didn't really have to make it compatible at all, so to have it work perfectly with the PS4 moving forward is a pretty great thing in my book. I highly recommend the headphones (which can be found for $100 from time to time on Amazon).

I will never ever need a headset. But having said that, this headset looks really nice, especially at that price.

Special audio modes just for headsets? That's interesting. They should really fold down the mic so you can see it in pics. I had to reread the description to make sure it wasn't just a stereo headset.
Speaking of headsets, did anyone ever try a 360 headset?

The mic is hidden. Just a hole in the back of the earcup. Nothing to fold down anymore (that was distracting as hell on the old Pulse).

I like how they say it's compatible with the Vita...through a standard headphone jack.

you could do it wirelessly through the vita. connect a mini-headphone cable from Vita to the wireless USB transmitter, plugged into your laptop, and then wear the headphones. boom.

This is way nicer. Will sound better. And only $15 more.
But it doesn't fold up, if that's a concern.

I have had the Elites for about 2 months. No cracks yet but I have read that may happen as well. I don't hold the cups while I spread them open to put them on my head. I hold it just above the cups on the frame. Not sure if it will help in the long run but it's worth a shot.

I've had mine for over a year. I'll look to see if it's cracking yet when I get home.
