I had to check. And yeah, I have 520 donuts now. So I guess I also received 500 donuts or so.

Did either of you submit any ticket for the issue you had or post on the Tapped Out forum (if there is one)?

So what's the best thing to buy with donuts? Otto and his bus seems pretty cool for 120. I've only spent about 40 donuts until now as I have only used earned donuts and never paid.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

So I've been playing around with this game for a few weeks now and have been following the talk here. I'm trying to figure out the end game for it.

I am having a tough time understanding why some people are spending so much money for donuts. Or any money for that matter.

There doesn't seem to be a way to win. It just keeps going. How far does one take it?

ticket submission seemed futile when I saw there was a 100 pages of people submitting tix. I just sat and waited. It was cleaned up a few days ago and then the gifts came yesterday

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Although white houses are pretty expensive I've decided to replace my blue house farm with a white house farm. I've realized that despite my best efforts, tapping the blue houses three times a day to maximize the 8-hour cash cycles isn't happening. I'm usually tapping them only twice a day and maybe once a week actually getting that third tap in. I'll be more guaranteed to be able to tap white houses twice a day and I make the buying cost back after twenty days for each house. I've got $2.5 million in the bank so this is my new endeavor until the next level comes out.

There probably won't be an end, it's like farmville or any of those other games I never played. They just keep adding more and more and more. It's a freemium game. Free if you want to and this will be enough for you to enjoy or pay premiums and have a prettier town.

I spent donuts on a Buddha or two and ended up with Hans Moleman that way and he's definitely funny. I've also picked up Frink and his lab plus a few items that aren't available right now. While I'll always want a few more of the premium items because they look funny (Duffman and the Rich Texan, in particular) I'm happy with who I picked up for now and maybe will get more later. Hans and Frink are both pretty funny.

I don't think it's a game with an "ending," so to speak. There's no final boss. It just... is. Like SimCity or Farmville or those build it until it's perfect and then raze it and start over for kicks sort of games. I like it because it's funny and I like the creativity of crafting a town based on my favorite show. If it wasn't funny and if it wasn't Simpsons, I wouldn't play it. I don't do Farmville or any of that because it doesn't appeal to me. Simpsons? Yes, please.

As for spending real money, I don't see myself doing that too much more or too much more often. I think I've spent $20 total and really, much more than that is not in the family budget for a little game on my phone, no matter how fun it is. $20 goes a long way for my family when we do our money right.

Anyone else bummed about TSTOtips.com getting hacked by that gamezino company/person?! Man, that stinks! So many people are going to get duped (heck, even I contemplated it!) and I don't see that blog coming back without serious damage. Dunno if it's recoverable or not. It was already tenuous because of some of their community issues. Truly sad.

I've read that the site owner sold out to Gamezino. Some of the former TSTOTips contributors have a site here now.

I didn't get the glitch but checked my inventory anyway!

Nothin', and the hedges I got in my mystery box yesterday are sitting there mocking me.

I haven't purchased any premium buildings yet but am only considering ones with characters. Otto does seem like the best deal, and his being in KL helps too.

Good move: you have to tailor your activities to your schedule or it's a waste.

Agreed, and I understand that TSTO makes so much money for EA that heads would roll if they let it end. So their challenge is to keep it entertaining both for people who spend and people who don't.

I don't play FB games. I figure I'll play this as long as it remains fun, and I started before the Halloween event last year. I gave up on Pocket Planes and Tiny Tower because the appeal wore off. Hay Day got old after just a few weeks. That hasn't happened yet for TSTO.

I play a few console games, and spending $20-$60 on those makes me feel better about buying donuts on TSTO, which has given me a lot more entertainment than most of those. And I like the thought of supporting the game. But I've only spent about $20 so far, which is not even close to a drop in the bucket for them. I'm OK with spending some more if it means I get more enjoyment out of the game. It's when I think "X house will cost me $X in real money that I get cheap.

Yeah, I used to visit the site daily, and now it's just a sad reminder of the scam. I know there are other resources out there, but I liked the easily digestible format of this one. My guess is that it's not going to recover, especially when the creator apparently checked out a while ago. And it's also made me even more wary of any "deals" that are posted anywhere. I said at the time that it seemed too good to be true, and we know how that goes.

I didn't know about the new site, awesome. I'm going to switch that out in the OP as a recommended tip (er, TOPIX) site.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I just noticed that my latest buildings pushed my Nausea and Grub to 3 along with Merch, and my Kitsch was still at 2. Sixteen palm trees later, and I've hit 3 on the KL-Meter!

The funny thing is I've only watched a couple episodes of the Simpsons plus the movie. I'm probably the only TSTO player (well, aside from my kid) who can say that.

The Flea Dipper costs 12,000 tickets. this is the first thing in Krusyland that I could not automatically start building. Bah!

Spoiler:
It is not, because I've finished the sea tank and that was not my next building.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

The other tough thing is that there don't appear to be any stand-alone multipliers available in the KL premium menu (I'm thinking like white picket fences or Burns limo). You can buy a couple rides that will generate tickets, which is good, but everything else will just improve your meter ratings in hopes of raising that particular multiplier. And it looks like to me that it's only in whole increments--I had three 3-star ratings and one 2, and that translated into 2, not 2.5 like in Springfield.

Whoops, I was checking the premium menu and almost bought a Whack-a-Mole. Not that that would be a terrible purchase but with only 101 available I'd rather purchase one of the ticket-generating rides or, as earlier discussed, a building with a KL character.

I'm clear to start building the Flea Dipper but I have less than half the tickets needed.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I bought my first big premium item, the Eyes of Death ride. I'm feeling pretty good about it--it looks good in my park, and gives me 90 tickets every 12 hours. If I'd just been going for tickets, I would have acquired some more donuts and bought Otto, but I like this, even though my donut count is now at a paltry 1.

Thanks to some aggressive neighboring and 30-minute tasks last night, I've gone from 5800 tickets to 10,800, so I should be able to start the Flea Dipper today.

I just did.. Launched the game and got an update notice where it downloaded stuff. Then when finished, it gave me a Level Up screen with Dr. Nick and a single donut. Odd
