Just a heads up for freemium players...right now, you can get 2.25% bonus multiplier by buying tennis courts for 10 gold statues. These used to cost 50 donuts.
Edit: I haven't updated yet so I don't know if the new update changes anything.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I had maxed out with 200 statues so I just spent them all on tennis courts and got a huge boost in my multipliers. Funny thing is yesterday I finally maxed out all my real-estate purchases and reassigned everyone to regular tasks, so now I have to wait for those to finish before I can build more Oscars, then have to put the other real-estate folks back to work on tablets and pills as well.
I just got a forced update, but the update is still showing in the app store, so maybe that wasn't the "big" update. I'll continue to hold out as long as I can.

Thanks to the update, I have 20,161 blueprints of the 15,000 I need to get the next set of tracks at the rail yard.
I also picked up a tennis court, but I think they just provide real estate value now.

I ended up finding a work around. Basically, I had to go into a neighboring town and once I did and reloaded my Springfield it gave me the item. Apparently this is a very common issue people are having with the last patch.

The update is mandatory now, at least for Android users. I was trying to go for one last bells and whistles bonus, but had to upgrade before playing just now.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Yeah, it was forced on ios too, so no more tennis court gravy train.
But it was awesome while it lasted because I went from about 111% multiplier to 212% with no donuts spent!
I had all my real-estate resources maxed out at 200 yesterday, then after Neil M. gave us the tip, I cashed in all my statues and started building more, then I started running dry of all the pieces that feed those statues. And all the while I knew the update could be forced at any time so whenever I got 10 statues I immediately cashed them in. Honestly I was getting a bit stressed out over it and considered just getting the update to be done with it.

New level update is out. First quest requires
Between working on my monorail, working on Springfield Heights, and just the random quests that pop up, it's getting hard to keep up!

I didn't start the crazy old Jewish man's tasks until yesterday due to Monorail stuff, so I'm a little behind (cue Bart doctor clip).

So, how do I get the IRS building? I was forced the update.
The good thing is that some characters that I didn't know I was missing are back. How could I didn't notice that Patty and Selma were not there???

But I also finished the last recycling prize of the week so I have nothing to do there. It feels weird (and liberating) not to have any 30-second tasks!
Yeah, that kind of stuff I tend to just leave when there's an event going on. I finally have nothing going on with Burns so I sent him on a 24-hour task that's been sitting on my board for a couple weeks.

LOL! I finished the weekly tasks for the monorail yesterday too. Everyone is in 12 hour tasks now. Except for the Level 58 tasks.
I'm taking a break from Springfield Heights too. I'm at 200K.

Yeah, I need to give Springfield Heights a break for a couple of weeks as well. I'm at about $250M. I'm still not sure why they made some of those buildings so big. I can't imagine it will look anything but gaudy with all of them maxed.

There seems to be a glitch for the Rail Yard extra tracks. Your suppose to get an extra mystery track piece for every 5000 blueprints but it is not awarding it to me for some reason. When I open the rail yard and hand in blueprints, the little blue line at the bottom that shows the progress towards the 5000 keeps going and going and now its off the screen. It says I have 14,993/5000. It is suppose to stop at 5000 and unlock the next mystery track but it doesn't for me.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
The season premiere tie-in update dropped today. In it Mr. Teeny and Jub Jub are finally given multiple tasks. Others that were missing tasks for various hour increments were given them, too. (Stampy is finally useful!) Characters who relied on others for a certain increment are now given an additional solo task. I can totally get behind this update.

The rumor is that we'll soon be getting a global assign button (i.e., assign all idle characters to their 1/4/8/12 hour task) which would be amazingly awesome.

That TSTO Addicts post I linked to only details the additional tasks for Jub Jub and Mr. Teeny, but people piped up in the comments with other changes. They're working on another post that will list all the new stuff.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Great timesaver.
I always thought that this would be difficult because of the characters who don't have certain timeslots or needed another character, so this is a good way around it, even if it does mean more tasks to scroll through.
I'm close to finishing my weekly tasks for the railyard--two to three days is generally what I need. Still haven't reorganized my monorail, though.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
The evil genius of it is that I might not assign 24-hour tasks and play more frequently if it ends up fewer taps in the long run. The completed tasks are still an issue (especially for the buildings that I stupidly placed on the outskirts) but the IRS building would fix that too.
