Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I had assigned characters to eight- and 12-hour tasks using the unemployment office because that worked with my schedule, then just realized that the task was to assign 60-minute tasks.

But the office kind of shows the need for bulk assignment: I have 103 characters currently on assignment
, and that doesn't include the ones who are on odd increments like three hours for collecting glass. Plus I haven't bought very many of the premium characters.Speaking of premiums, I'm glad the mystery box is back. 10 donuts last time.

I hate the IRS. I would like a button that lets me collect all completed jobs. Not a bunch of circles that collect everything within the circumference. It lessens the number of taps, except I didn't want to collect from most of those buildings anyway. I've still gotta scroll all around town to find all the characters that have completed tasks.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
The interesting thing is I have a random 24-hour task for Bart and Millhouse, and the bulk assignment didn't affect those guys. When they have something to do, I have to do that individually rather than having it swept up in the bulk. I like that.
I agree this isn't what I was expecting.

"collect all", "collect all jobs", "collect all residences", "collect all businesses", etc. buttons. I like to keep my Kwik-E-Marts, Krusty Burgers, and most houses open for neighbors to tap. The IRS unfortunately clears them out when I tap surrounding places. So for now I stored the IRS building, which removes its collection functionality.
Also I noticed when doing "assign all" tasks at the unemployment office, it never sends all my characters. Without any rhyme or reason that I can tell, some are left open. I can understand the ones with open mission tasks being held back, but these just seem like random groups of characters. I hope that's patched soon.

When I sent all my characters on a task today, I got some message about a bench, but I didn't really understood what it meant. Then I noticed one of my characters didn't get assigned to a task. My best guess is that (hypothetical scenario) I had three characters whose four hour tasks required benches, but I only had two benches available, so one of them couldn't complete their task.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
From what I've been able to determine, the times when it won't send people on a task are:
The character has a yellow task.
An item or building is not out there for the character's task.
It may also not not look at other skins if the current skin doesn't have that length of task.
I've also had weird a stuff when a second character is needed.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Yeah, I've had times when a character isn't assigned because of a pending task, or because the time slot requires a building I don't have.
The collection process is a bit nuclear, and I'd prefer to not tap my brown houses and Kwik-e-Marts, but I figured they'll regenerate soon, and what are the chances that someone's going to visit me right at that moment. That said, I did see a RL friend visit yesterday just seconds after I'd blown everything up. I hope he found a couple more buildings to tap.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
The other nice thing about the unemployment office is that it points out when you have a character who has finished a task and takes you to him/her.
I don't really see why it has to cost dollars, but I have enough that it doesn't matter. I wonder how the expense compares to the potential benefit of turning around tasks more often because it's easier. Maybe kenbuzz will do that math for me.
Holy crap, the IRS upgrade is expensive. I went up to level 8, and tried to do level 9, but it requires seven million and I only have six. I know I had a lot more than that before, so the previous upgrades were probably really spendy. Maybe I should keep a closer eye on what I'm spending before I declare I have plenty of money. Damn IRS is always soaking me without my realizing it.

I like the idea of collecting all at once but it collects from buildings too that I want to leave for my visitors. Anyway, the unemployment is such a time saver. Finally.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I have a set of brown buildings that's somewhat isolated from task buildings and I hope to avoid tapping that area. Of course someone could always wander over there, and I totally understand if someone visits me right after a sweep and finds nothing to tap and moves on. I know I wouldn't wait a minute for someone else's town to regenerate taps! But I hope it won't happen very often.

Brown houses shouldn't be an issue, since they regenerate really fast.
If you play every hour, then it can be annoying to some visitors, if they are "lucky" enough. But for most people, it shouldn't matter if you tap in brown houses.

New multi-stage Gil deal for Oktoberfest, offering rebates on mostly old items. TSTO Addicts says three will be buildings with characters, none of which I own. I might go for the Hungry Hun as I've been acquiring donuts at a decent rate.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I got the Hungry Hun. I just had to buy $5 of donuts, and received 40(?) donuts back.
It was a good deal, I mean as good as a deal can be for a 3+ years old F2P game LOL!
I was lucky enough to finish my monorail tasks on Thursday, so I now have a lot of free time. The IRS helped with that.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I'm fairly new to this game, I have 2 questions:
1) Is krustyland do anything/is it worth investing in? I haven't started it up by building the shuttle, since I've been concentrating on the main game, just wondering if it's worth my time.
2) Mr Burns money pile, same question as above. I built it just not sure how much I should put into it. Money is still tight since I'm level 28 and still growing.

2) The money pile costs $5.5 million to complete. You get a new skin for Burns when it's done. Burns' tasks in that skin pay triple, which makes him one of the most lucrative characters in the game, but even at triple pay, it will take a long time to earn back the money that goes into getting him by building up the mountain.

Yeah, Krustyland is fine and something different, but it's pretty limited. You might be able to build some attractions and let those earn you tickets, but you probably don't want to use your characters on it. I'd probably let it wait till you're more built up.
I don't remember anything about the money pile so I'm glad JasonF answered that question.
I got the Hungry Hun but am skipping the other Gil deals.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I finished building Krustyland without using characters in KL other than the specific required tasks of send "x to ride the y". Outside those, I simply tapped in KL until I got enough tickets to build the next attraction.
Level 43 mostly occurs in KL. I saw a number of "I just got a task to send x to the y in Krustyland, but I can't make x go to Krustyland" posts from people who had ignored KL. The ability to send various characters to KL didn't unlock until specific parts of the KL quest.
Toward the end of KL development you will unlock an attraction that will give you 5 donuts from time to time.

Krustyland Tickets
Trash

Glass
Plastic

Yoga Mats
myPads

Oscars
Real Estate Value
By my count, that's 17 different resources that need to be managed, the majority of which are used to produce other resources/require other resources to generate. Some of them are low-impact -- money, XP, donuts, and friendship points just sort of accumulate -- but the monorail and Springfield Heights stuff have to be actively managed.
