Just checked out your town. If you're living paycheck to paycheck, it may be time to plant a house farm. You've got plenty of cheap land options right there or you could consolidate buildings into tight land pockets since it looks like you're already doing that with many buildings. My first house farm was brown houses and it got me off the ground but if you're at a higher level may as well go blue houses. I did that for a while but now do white houses and I've never been scrapped for cash since. It'll be like an investment portfolio that keeps playing off. If I could only take my own advice on this in my real life, I think we'd have less money issues!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I find the White House farm harder to manage because you have to be on a strict schedule to ensure you get two taps in twice a day. If I was late getting to it in the morning I missed out on the nightly tap and in turn only got $200 from them often. For over $7000 a house, that's not a good deal unless you can stick to the schedule.
The blue houses are a steal and pay out $150, so often the guaranteed two taps a day pay out more than the one I get from the white houses. A d if I'm lucky, I can get 3 taps in.
House farms are a necessity for quick cash. I was always strapped for it too until I built more houses and made sure to always have the characters on a task. I also stopped building anything for a while to build up the money to $300000. Once I got there, I slowly started building things but made sure to never let my money go below $200000. That way you always have some money in the bank, for emergencies lol. Between the tasks and buildings, I clear 60-80k a day, which adds up fast.

Cost: $1800
Income: $150 every 8 hours
If you play 3 times a day (once every 8 hours)
$450/day
Paid off in 4 days
$3150/week income
If you play 2 times a day (once every 12 hours)
$300/day
Paid off in 6 days
$2100/week income
If you play 2x a day M-F and 3x a day on weekends
$300-450/day
Paid off in 5-6 days
$2400/week income
My 32 house farm gives me $4800 every time I visit my town. I work M-F so my 32 units generate approx $75,000/week.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Here's the math for "house farming" each different type of house. The table below is for ONE house of the particular color:
"Payoff" is the # of times you have to collect income from the property BEFORE you've broken even
"P/O Time" is the minimum amount of time to achieve break-even, assumes you're hovering over the property and tap immediately after income is generated.
"5 minutes" is the amount of $ you would generate per week if you tapped the property every 5 minutes.
"1-24 hours" is the same weekly income $ based on tapping every 1-24 hours.
"Work M-F" is the weekly income if you could tap every 12 hours M-F, and every 8 hours on the weekend.
The values in RED are the maximum for each tap frequency. For example, if you can tap every 4 hours, your income is maximized by farming Pink houses, earning $4200 per week for each house.
If you have the luxury of doing nothing else but play the game on a full time basis and can tap your houses every 5 minutes for the rest of your life, the Brown houses are clearly the way to go! But assuming you can realistically only tap once every 8 hours, the Blue house not only pays off soonest but generates the highest regular weekly income. White and Orange generate more income if you have longer wait times between taps, but they take significantly longer to pay off (20 and 66 days, respectively) than Blue (4 days).
| House | Price | Income | Time | Payoff | P/O Time | 5 minutes | 1 hour | 2 hours | 4 hours | 6 hours | 8 hours | 12 hours | 24 hours | Work M-F |
| Orange | 24500 | 250 | 16 hrs | 98 taps | 65d 8h | 2625 | 2625 | 2625 | 2625 | 2625 | 2625 | 2625 | 1750 | 1750 |

| Blue | 1800 | 150 | 8 hrs | 12 taps | 4d 0h | 3150 | 3150 | 3150 | 3150 | 3150 | 3150 | 2100 | 1050 | 2400 |

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
From a ROI perspective, divide the weekly income by the cost for each house. Ignoring the idiotic "I'll stay up and tap Brown every 5 minutes FOREVER" case, the three highest returns on your investment based on your tap frequency are:
1 hour = 381.8% for Purple, 283.9% for Brown, 175.0% for Blue
2 hours = 381.8% for Purple, 175.0% for Blue, 142.0% for Brown
4 hours = 286.4% for Purple, 175.0% for Blue, 98.8% for Pink
6 hours = 190.9% for Purple, 175.0% for Blue, 98.8% for Pink
8 hours = 175.0% for Blue, 143.2% for Purple, 74.1% for Pink
12 hours = 116.7% for Blue, 95.5% for Purple, 49.4% for Pink
24 hours = 58.3% for Blue, 47.7% for Purple, 24.7% for Pink
Work M-F = 133.3% for Blue, 109.1% for Purple, 56.5% for Pink
My recommendation is Blue or Purple, depending on how often you play the game. A mix of the two would also work, since Purple is optimal for those times when you can play frequently and Blue for those when you can't. The breakeven is around 6-8 hours.

I don't even take the time to hit my house farm anymore. With all the characters and multipliers, I bring in so much money every day. I probably spend more time buying and selling weather stations than hitting my farm.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Purple, pink and blue.....
Looks like purple would give the most but I'm not tapping every three hours.
Pink would give me 120 every six hours which is more realistic for me so that would be 480 a day if I could do four visits a day.
Blue is 150 every 8 hours so I would need to tap 3 times a day and that might be the best option for me.
That would be 450 a day and is probably easier to do that tapping a pink house 4 times a day.
Don't know what happened to my crime rating as it is currently only 1 star.
My tree went down a half from 2.5 to 2. Not sure how that happened. I feel like I have plenty of trees for the size of my town.
So I guess I'll buy a plot or two and throw some blue houses on it.

I think the different meters go down according to some sort of proportion of what is available to you vs. what you actually use. Can't remember for sure but that is vaguely familiar.
Start the farm that's right for you. Trial and error are your friends. Believe it or not I had a brown house dark and tapped every five minutes during homework sessions. Yeah, that lasted maybe a week. I had a blue house farm for around six months and then started to slowly build up a replacement white house farm. For me, I was finding my schedule was sliding into only allowing for two tapping sessions per day, not three (sometimes, like today, it's only once). When it became clear I would make more money on white houses than blue with that amount of tapping I made the switch completely. Yes, it takes longer to make up the difference in price but I did it after a major purchase for a level so I wasn't in need of cash immediately anyway.
I do have a few of each kind of house in my residential zone to make it look nice. Plus having some tap options for friends is helpful.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Maybe the chart will help me finally remember that pink houses are more valuable than purple ones when I'm visiting other towns?
I don't house-farm because I don't like the look of it, but I do have a bunch of different houses (maybe some would consider it farming, but I go for variety and put them on streets and such). I agree that it's really about XP rather than money for me.
And I think it makes sense to take inventory of our lives, and if we're not enjoying things any more, we might as well move on. I'm still enjoying the game, but mostly during quests and events. Between Halloween and Christmas, I was doing a lot of 24-hour tasks and let my neighbor visits slide. It did help me to get the year-end deal and finally spend some donuts on new stuff, but I get that that's not an option for some people. It was only my second donut package. I've visited some long-abandoned towns that have all kinds of crazy premium items, so they must have lived in the fast lane for a short while then got out.

Your ratings can often drop when you level up as well. My public buildings dropped to 4.5, but I'm building the courthouse and hope that will boost it.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I read somewhere that whenever Sideshow Bob shows up you lose 5 Righteousness points, and when you tap him you only get back 1. Could be part of the reason that the rating seems to crater from time to time.
The training wall bolsters Righteousness. I built a bunch and hid them behind buildings. I haven't had the rating crater since. My theory was that building the rating by cleaning graffiti was only a soft number which eventually got whittled away, but the walls would provide a hard number. It seems to be working.

I've spent a lot of time setting my town up and moving things around and always wanted to share it on the forum. I think I finally have a way (hopefully this works):

Let me know what you think!
(I also hid a bunch of training walls behind buildings once my Righteousness Rating fell for the first time to 1-Star; for some reason, the above screen-shot actually shows them, but if you visit my town in-game they're hidden))
