Here is some more Killer Instinct news. I think I'm actually on board for this since it includes the original game as well:

"The $39.99 Ultra Edition pack will include everything available with the Combo Breaker pack, the original Killer Instinct arcade game as well as accessories and costumers for characters."

It's getting to the point where I can't see a reason any rational gamer would choose the PS4 over the Xbox. Sure, the price point is still a lot, but that's about it.
-Hardware is basically a wash on both
-Improved indie game policies. Stuff like Minecraft exclusive.
-Xbox controller still the best, despite improved DS4 controller
-Much better Xbox launch titles
-Kinect and Smartglass integration possibilities, no comparison on PS4
-Better and more exclusives announced. Titanfall, Halo, Forza, Dead Rising, Killer Instinct, Fable etc versus the PS4 with Knack, Killzone, Infamous, and Drive Club.
-3rd party games better on Xbox and have exclusive DLC and dedicated servers
-Xbox live and things like Skype and Twitch being exclusive. Plus, the interface tends to work much better on Xbox consoles
-Both play BluRay
-Huge PS exclusives now multiplatform. Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts/Metal Gear

I know I'll get torn up for posting this, but honestly after removing the online check and unplugging the Kinect, I think the Xbox wins hands down. Is it really worth it buying a PS4 for the promise of another Uncharted/God of War at the cost of everything else?

Sooooo. Let me get this straight. You don't see how early adopters to the next console generation could possibly pick a console that from the beginning said they were going to cater to the gamers, went to developers and asked what they wanted, got new blood to lead the console redesign, redisigned their admittedly uncomfortable controllers, Consistently has made better launch hardware, has courted an army of indie developers, didn't force connectivity, didn't force sketchy DRM, will offer a variety of free to play games, consistently gives away quality games from behind a paywall(60+ free games from PS+ so far), is a hundred dollars cheaper and has never wavered from what has been presented about its console.
You believe that the early adopters (who in case you forgot are usualy the hardcore gamers) will embrace a console that at its reveal catered to the casual fans (by not mentioning games), Pushed for an always online system that required a check in, pushed for a shady DRM system using said always online check in, responded to criticism of the online check in by saying the previous console was the one for the offline players, added a peripheral that nobody wanted and was required to be on at all times, costs a hundred dollars more, claims to be for indie developers however most indie developers have a bad taste in their mouths from dealing with MS in the past, changed leadership in the middle of its most important PR push, at first ignored everything that happened at E3 and once they realized they were getting their asses handed to them on preorder numbers reversed course and tried backtrack on all their draconian policies, looks like it may not be able to keep up with its preorders in admittedly weaker markets and did I metion its a hundred dollars more expensive.

No one? There was plenty of optimism about it in the PS4 thread.

As for the video, Microsoft mentioned TV a lot initially and...? I recall a pretty boring segment Sony presented at E3 that focused on media, but I guess that's easily forgotten. Acting like Sony is so much more focused on gaming then Microsoft is just silly.

Don't get me wrong, I think discostu is as far biased as anyone else here and saying the One is a no brainer over the PS4 is absolutely ridiculous, but I just think this assertion that somehow Sony has gaming as a priority any more then Microsoft is way off. Like Rich said, they're both clearly trying to do other things and I don't see why some are holding it over Microsoft's head and not Sony's.

Most people ignored that 8-12 minute section because it was soooooo obviously a segment to keep the corporation happy. Xbox One was focused on media.

I think I am going to end up spending all my xbox one / ps4 money on disney infinity figures / legos so I won't have to pick a console for awhile!

something i've not heard a peep about. anyone seen anything regarding Netflix and their SuperHD? I know the PS3 supports it, as does the WiiU. I would assume the XboxOne will, but haven't seen any info about it. Since I sold my PS3, I'm sad about not having SuperHD, but it won't be a huge loss if the One will have it.

Comcast in my area apparently doesn't support SuperHD :(

Yep, Comcast blocks it everywhere.

SuperHD is about the ISPs.

OpenGL actually supports newer and more advanced features than DirectX currently.

Show me games on Windows that utilize OpenGL and not DirectX.

Oh wait, that's right, they don't exist.

I think the point was that OpenGL's capabilities aren't the reason why games on Mac suck or don't exist, it's lack of interest from developers to spend the time on it. At least that's the impression that I have.

I almost never agree with this dude...but I agree with this dude.

It's entirely irrelevant. Both are fine.

What is there not to agree with?

I'm not one putting down one console over the other or anything like that.

I like both and will have both, at launch! :)

Oh and even though it's insubstantial as hell, Twitch will be used by the PS4 as well. I don't know why discostu listed that was a feature, but yeah.

Kind of a dull Gamescom so far.

Again, Twitch is big. I don't care about it either, but it's huge. It's as important as having Netflix.

And I though Sony showing was good.

Oh wait, that's right, they don't exist.

99% of all Indie games seem to use OpenGL (for obvious cross-platform advantages), also as far as AAA titles go, all of the upcoming Id Tech5 games will be using OpenGL and there are a handful of those.

So yeah, they do exist.

Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled bitching and nitpicking in progress.
