What I do is when it starts downloading from "in-game", I just exit the game (which stops the download), go to my account in the dashboard and it's in my list of previously downloads. I then download it from there, turning "off" my xbox as it downloads while I do something else.

Three of us...all Level 50...jumped into the new DLC last night and this is just freaking huge. We did the arena and the "Bar Brawl"...that was just insane. So far though we've had no trouble dealing with anything thrown at us. We've been down a few times but no-one has died yet. Of course with Three Level 50 Sirens what do you expect.

The overall look is really something and there's a lot of detail with the larger scope of of buildings. It's truely a sight to see. Still no real good stuff in drops or chest. We found a total of Two Pinks, some Blues and plenty of Green & White. We stopped at doing the "Big Momma" battle and hope to continue tonight.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

Just started this game (level 9 now) and it just isn’t sucking me in like the first one did. I am the type of gamer who isn't looking for hard difficulty, I just like to run around, shoot the f out of bad guys and get some cool loot. So far the bad guys are very tough, the AI makes it almost impossible to get a bead on them before they roll, the guns are way less accurate and powerful so far and the loot to be frank sucks so far. I don’t think I have seen a colored drop yet.

I do like how you don’t have to pick up the cash and ammo now, that is a much needed improvement.

I don't care about the storyline either in fact I couldn’t even tell you what the storyline of the first one was but it didn’t matter since the gameplay was so fun. Not sure why, but BL2 just seems "off" to me.

I may be in the minority, but to me this is kinda the disappointment I felt when playing Uncharted 3 after the awesomeness of U2. Just doesn’t have the same feel or enjoyment. I am really bummed about it actually, because I was looking forward to it so much.

Just wait. Once you get up past 10, the story really starts to get great.

If guys not holding still bugs you, I strongly recommend playing the Siren.

If you want to decrease the challenge a bit, play the Mechromancer.

The drops are really about the same between the two games. You didn't get a lot of great stuff early in the first game either. By level 9, you might have had the Clipper from 9 toes and maybe another fire weapon of some kind.

But does the gameplay improve? The story doesnt matter really. To be honest I have no idea where I am or why I am there other than I need to go from point A to point B and kill things along the way while scavenging for money and guns. Anything beyond that I tune out as it has zero bearing on my enjoyment of the game.

So playing with those characters will stop the enemies from waiting until my bullet reaches them, then moving just before it hits them?

I have read multiple complaints in this thread of people not getting good loot even as high level characters.

Pehaps I am just being overly critical but it is really just coming from being disappointed in the changes at least so far. Maybe I just need to stick with it longer. I could of course not remember accurately the beginning of BL1. But since I just started that one about 6 weeks ago and am on my second playthrough, it seems fresh in my mind.

The Siren will absolutely do this. The mechromancer's robot will kill many of the enemies for you.

I would argue that they just aren't remembering the first Borderlands accurately. Having put 100+ hours in both and playing through the first game again recently, my observation is that "good loot" was just as rare in the first game and started showing up at about the same time. It's just that everybody's memory of the first game is running around as a level 60+ with a Malawan Hellfire and a Pestilent Defiler, but the reality is that you hardly ever picked anything up in that game, and you might have seen one orange in a normal playthrough.

I also found that the vending machine weapons are better in the second game and so are the weapons that are mission rewards.

Finally, shields and grenades are orders of magnitude more interesting by level 20 or so.

Did you mention what system you were playing on? I'd be happy to drop a few things for you if you're on PS3.

As you progress...Level-up...the challenges and enemies will get better. but as they do so does your abilities as does weapons along with mods. There's really a good variety of everything. I will say this...playing with at least one other person really makes the game just better; or at least more fun. On that note I don't think you will have any trouble of asking and finding someone to tag along with or ask to jump in their game.

FWIW...if you're on the 360 I have a Gunserker at Level 19 and will be more than happy to tag along when you get around that level.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

Anyone find anything insteresting while playing the game. I found some few.

Claptrap's Place

Spoiler:
Search around the area and you would find some motionless robobts playing cards. Click on the table and you get some money. You can do this over every time you restart the game.

The Soaring Dragon

Spoiler:
On your way to fight Captain Flynt check out some storage bins with the toilet. One of them has some risque pics of Moxxi. She's a naughty girl.

The Holy Spirits

Spoiler:
Check out the mantle by fireplace. There a statue of couple of skags mating. Suppose to be some inside joke from Gearbox.

Also in Holy Spirits
Spoiler:
there is a stuffed bear sitting on a chair, just spin the chair and money flies out.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

All right, PS3 peons, I finally picked up Borderlands 2.

Shumway texted me this morning to let me know it was on BestBuy.com so I wouldn't have to brave the stores tonight so I ordered it at $34.99. Wait, did I say $34.99? I meant that since my wife and I never shop at Best Buy, we used the gift cards people gave us last Christmas and brought the price down to $3.55 before tax (will likely end up at $3.87 or so). Noice!

Estimated arrival is between Nov. 29 - Dec. 4. Hess ordered, too, and his copy is supposed to arrive next Tuesday already. If you PS3 Peons stop playing this game before I finally hop on, you are dead to me.

Speaking of dead, Hess and I also picked up copies of Dead Island for $10 at Amazon this morning, too. A few of you have this, yes?

Whenever you start, I'll roll a new character with you. Just let me know when.

I just got the season pass last night as well.

I was already renting BL2 but I waent ahead and pulled the trigger on it @ amazon for 34.99. I also ordered Most Wanted for 29.99 and Prometheus 3D pack for 14.99. They'll all be under the Christmas tree. Waiting for me

Most wanted was a lightning deal for $25. I picked it up along with a PS3 bundle for my kid and the Ratchet & Clank Collection for $15.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

Well I grabbed this from Amazon (PS3) on their lightning deal, so I guess I'm asking this question a bit late.

It's about the DLC. Is the Mechromancer pack included with the Season Pass, or do I have to buy both? While paying $25 for the game is a great deal, I'd have to pay $40 for all the DLC.

Mechromancer isn't included w the season pass. She makes the game alot easier, fun character.

That's what I figured. Thanks. I guess $65 overall isn't a bad deal, though I only paid $20 for the GOTY version of the first game.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Mecromancer DLC code is still in the box

I would normally agree with that since a lot of games that come with "limited edition" packaging can still be easily found long after the games are released.

But the Mechromancer code wasn't in the box... at least in my case. I had pre-ordered the game... when I picked it up on launch day all the codes for the pre-order "extras" were on the receipt. The Mechromancer DLC wasn't available until after the game came out.
