Re: Borderlands

I think I bought a single shield and a handful of health packs, but otherwise the only thing I ever spent money on was respawning and ammo upgrades. Never bought any weapons.

New Haven...It has Six Weapon crates, four in town and two outside. Plus there's two "vending machines". Not just good for weapons but what you don't keep sell off for $$$$

Old Haven...while there's plenty of weapon drops you'll find more shields here than anywhere else. Plus there's "claptrap" mission. There's six weapon crates with one pretty tricky to get to. This is also probably the toughest level especially your first time thru.

Also the more money you get the more you lose when you die
i believe it is 7% of your money that you lose on each death. This becomes interesting when your account rolls over the 9,999,999 mark. though not displayed, you do keep collecting money.

that means that when i was losing 20mil+, i had what, 250mil or something like that? yea, money doesn't mean much....

Yep, same here. Even regret buying the one shield since I've found several just like it soon thereafter. Never bought health, just sit in a corner and wait for my shield to heal me back to 100+, then barrel ahead.

Find many more weapons than will fit in my backpack, hate that, hope my storage capacity increases again. Hate that most of my weapons seem to be so close in value, makes deciding what to keep and what to leave on the ground tough.

Wish there was a locker or safehouse where I could store the weapons that are too high of a level for me. Hate wasting room in my backpack with several items that I can't use.

Buying ammo all the frigging time it seems.

The Moxxie DLC introduces a bank that lets you deposit and store weapons. I think it begins with a handful of new slots and you can buy upgrades to get more storage (up to like 42 new slots iirc).

Cool. Even though I had planned on doing everything in order, can I install this DLC and gain access to the storage now?

Yes, but be aware - Moxxie is the worst DLC of the three available. It is arena combat, extremely difficult, the enemies don't give XP, and you pretty much have to have a multiplayer party do do decently.

Moxxie though is an awesome character and I hop she shows up in the inevitable sequel.

Re: Borderlands

i'm pretty sure the answer is yes and i know the enemy level is increased, but does the reward $$, XP and weapons you get from playing the same missions on playthrough 2 increase with the respective giver of mission?

yup. typically the same "item" if its an item specific one, but the level is increased. pretty sure XP and $$ are too, but like i said, i never check on money

Re: Borderlands

I wouldn't have made it without the "banks" at Moxxie though it is the least favorite of the DLC. I was "laddering" my characters....they were all spread out by 5-8 levels. Hunter would be say Level 51 and my Siren would be level 44, the Brick one around 35 and Soldier say 24. I'd just pass the weapons and shields down to the other character via Moxxie's Banks using either friends to help swap or creats a "Dummy Character" using split screen to move the weapons.

The Bank does come in handy especially if you're playing more than one character. The other part is with one character you may find better weapons and mods for a different character which does happen allot.

We [me & my nephew] are now on level 21 and just finished all missions in Arid badlands. 'Bout to go rescue Lucky and then face Skagzilla.

Re: Borderlands

Finished arena 2 out of 3 in Moxxi last night. This is one of my favorite games ever, but it's the worst DLC I've ever spent money on. Cannot wait until I'm finished, and I cringe at the thought of having to go through yet another 20 rounds.

I'm doing it all solo.

Like someone said at another forum, this isn't a game, it's work. I'll add: hard, tedious, repetitive, frustrating work.

That's why I'm glad my OCD on finishing games completely has waned.

Now I just quit when I get bored, and move on to one of my many other unopened games or films.

I feel like I've already got my ~$30 worth out of the game, but figure I'm good for at least another 40 or so hours of playing before I move on.

Re: Borderlands

I haven't popped it in ahwile but lately getting the urge to do so. If anyone is on and doesn't mind a bit of company just send an invite. I do need to get back on Red Dead but I still like to play Borderlands before Crackdown 2 comes out.

Re: Borderlands

I just finished the game's trophies to a 100% (including DLCs)

I will trade it quickly because I DON'T want to ever put it again, lol. The "Big tournaments" trophies on the Underdome DLC were painfully repetitive and long, and you have to play 3 hours on each one to get the trophy, WITHOUT being able to save (each tournament has 20 rounds with 5 waves each, and it takes you between 7 to 12 minutes per round, depending on how far ahead you are, as they become increasingly difficult)
Without a God shield and a high damage, ammo regenerating gun these tournaments are IMPOSSIBLE
This was the first time I fell asleep while gaming, only to be waken up by the controller's rumble jolt.

Maybe they need to start a thread to organize a Borderlands night.

Re: Borderlands

I have a pending trade for my game and a gameshare of all 3 DLCs. If anybody wants my weapon arsenal, my shields and mods, just add me and I'll see you in-game and unload them for you. Most of them are lvl 50 to 60
Just be sure to come with an empty backpack, there are enough stuff for 2-3 players
Add me and psn msg me about it, ID on sig
